    Update: I still own my 2016 CBR650F and I have put 14000 miles on the bike. I plan to get a super sport for the next riding season but I am definitely keeping this bike. I like the CBR650F because it has adequate power and is comfortable for long rides. I would say that it is like a VFR800 but less expensive and lighter. The negative is that it is a little buzzing motorcycle. But besides that everything is perfect. It has the same acceleration of a CBR600RR but 3000 less and the insurance is cheaper. The top speed is less than the CBR600RR but is more comfortable. That is why I am keeping the bike. I also installed a Two Brothers Tarmac Full Exhaust and a power commander.. The bike can get easy to 140MPH but if you do that you get arrested. So keep her between 80 and 100 MPH

      @@shujayethossain6554 I’d say probably not, but maybe. It’s a big heavy bike that can be easily dropped if you can’t flat foot it. The one I bought had been dropped on both sides and then sold because they just couldn’t handle it lol. But if you’re taller and strong, it’s just fine as a beginner bike because under 7k rpm it handles like a 250 so is easy to get into gear and ride around. Past 7k is when you remember that it’s actually a pretty powerful and loud (in a good way, 4cyl sounds great) machine that will get you into trouble if you let it.

    The CBR650F is my second bike and is outstanding. I commute 1hr,20mim to work and it can more than keep up with traffic. It is fast but not to a point that is gonna get you in trouble. The look is sleek and is reliable like a Ak47. I have put 2,600 miles since I got her in September 2016. I finance it to 3 years and is what I wanted. My last bike was the NC700X and it was fun but this one is awesome and I plan to keep it. Faster than this is stupid at least for me. The bike top speed is 140 to 150mph and I would never take it to that speed.

      Absolutely, I used to have a 2008 first generation Ninja 650, then I traded it for a mk2 Ninja 650, which is lighter and improved in some ways (although i prefer the look of the mk1) and then I sold it and got the 2017 CBR650f
      I love both bikes, they're similar but each have their own character from their respective makers. I think the seat of the CBR is more comfortable and it's more agile in the lower RPM, which is perfect for urban ride. Both are powerful enough for a highway commute and comfortable. Much better for real world use than a real superbike like a Fireblade or a Zx6 or Zx10

    This bike is a sport tourer, not a super sport. This is a good fun bike for someone who also has to commute maybe 40 miles a day, far more comfortable then a 600rr. Definitely lacks the top end power of the super sports though. This is like a smaller VFR, jack of all trades style bike...

      @@briggsneal1016 Not sure if this response can still help you but I got a CBR500R as my first bike, then upgraded to a used 2014 CBR650F just the other day. Had the 500 for about 2 months.
      I think a cautious beginner that does a lot of research about riding could handle the 650, however the clutch and brakes on the 650 are a little less forgiving. The bike is only a little faster on the low end, but of course once you get into the powerband it is a much faster... it has a much higher red-line and more torque. You can be accelerating to 73 mph or so in 2nd gear while the CBR500R is in 3rd-4th gear The takeaway is that if driven properly, the 650 Honda can be fairly sedate underneath the power-band. The 650R is also smoother when transitioning from off-throttle to on throttle I think due to the smoother 4 cylinder engine.
      Also, I find the headlight on the CBR500R that I had was not great, almost dangerous at night... the 650F's is much better. Not sure if the latest generation CBR500R remedied the headlight issue or not.
      Of course, the 650 is a bit heavier, so if you run into any potential drop issues it may be a bit harder to hold up (ran into a couple of those with the 500R but luckily I was able to hold it up).

    • @spiderjerusalem4152
      @spiderjerusalem4152 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      If you're having trouble getting the hang of how much clutch and throttle to use for starts, do this:
      Find a parking lot or large flat area, and practice letting your bike roll forward to a walking speed using ONLY the clutch. Just slowly let the clutch out, using ZERO throttle, until the bike starts to ease forward. Keep letting it out until you're at a walking speed, then let it roll at that speed for 15 feet or so.
      Practicing that will get you very familiar with that specific bike's "friction zone", which is the point at which the clutch starts to move the wheel. Once you get familiar with where the friction zone is and how it engages, you'll be able to more easily know when and how much throttle to add for smooth and/or rapid launches.

    • @arayder
      @arayder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Little late lmao but the clutch on these bikes releases super late, as in the clutch handle will almost be fully released before it starts catching, so you don’t have to start revving it until the clutch is almost fully out.
