- The owner of a suburban Detroit business that caught fire and exploded, killing a man, was arrested at JFK Airport as he was preparing to depart for Hong Kong on a one-way ticket, authorities said.
Less than 2 mins of Google use answered all the commenters questions. He was arrested because he was ILLEGALLY storing butane, nitrous tanks, lighter fluid and over 100,000 vape pens which had lithium batteries.
Would have been nice that the person making money off of these video posted that info instead of people trying to hunt for it. Don't ya think? BTW, thank you
What specifically was illegal about a business storing the products that they sell?
@@user-eh5cr4or6k probably lots of things were illegal, there are laws governing storage and acquisition, but someone like YOU, who likely has no regard for the law would not understand, pothead
Sounds like he had a tobacco shop
Federal and State Safeguards for hazardous materials storage were not followed, ignored .
The warehouse location wasn't zoned for that type of product storage. He was illegally storing large quantities of flammable products along with large quantities of excellerants
That was reckless indeed

Defense lawyer:
It was just coincidence that his business blew up as he was boarding a plane with a one way ticket to Hong Kong where the US cannot extradite him.
JURY:
Sounds legit 😂
Thank God we have a fair number of good men and women in law enforcement who demonstrate the ability to confront, pursue, and effectively deal with evil.🙏

If found to be arson, they should be charged with domestic terrorism!
Every government is founded on Ad Baculum. That's terrorism that domesticates.
Terrorism! Who were they terrorizing?
what? so if it is found to be one crime, they should charge him with something *_completely unrelated???_*
who are you? his retained defense counsel?
@@inTruthbyGrace prosecutors file multiple charges all the time. That has nothing to do with a defense attorney.
Maybe I wasn’t clear. If they have evidence the prosecutor should charge the owner with murder or manslaughter, arson and domestic terrorism for the explosion caused by the fire if the teen was killed by the explosion.
@@psweeneyville Cite the statute junior.
I remember hearing about this explosion/fire when it happened, but what actually happened that they arrested someone? What kind of business was this, and what are they talking about when they say, "this should never happen again anywhere"? Was this arson? I'm so confused.
He was storing nitros tanks?
It is BIZARRE that commenters criticize
and info being disclosed...and then whine
and complain about not knowing the facts of the explosion and all the dozens of
details.
I am angry that schools are NOT mandated to teach : LOGIC, COMMON SENSE and CRITICAL THINKING .
Dude was running a smoke shop supply wholesale warehouse, a place where he illegally stored mass quantities of large canisters of NO2 and butane in a building neither zoned nor equipped to store hazardous materials. During the fire, one of the exploding canisters struck a young spectator who was standing in front of a car wash a quarter mile east of the warehouse. Someone has to be held accountable for the death and destruction caused that night.
story actually went silent just like that murder case with shane burns that stabbed that lady in roseville belle tire and another guy. all is silent there also, no court appearences of him or anything, thats how they do it in this entire area
If they don't know what caused the fire, how can they arrest someone for murder? How did NY know to be looking for this guy... was there already a warrant for him?
Yes
They arrested him for illegally storing flammable materials.
Frivolous but if they wanted him anyway...@@Brocuzgodlocdunfamdogson

A whole lot of empty talk to say we only arrest when ready, oh but this dude was flying the coop so we arrested him”
The important information here could have been reported in less than ten minutes
They wanna make sure they give themselves promotions and awards
They gotta have that podium moment.
Something is fishy! Why aren’t they checking out all businesses that sell vape pens? Aren’t they the ones who made them legal?
Every firefighter knows arson is one of the most difficult crimes to solve!
There's nothing wrong with giving. Thanks for the investigation. They said the man was innocent until proven guilty. Your response Is completely confusing because all you want to do is down the police. Yes they arrested him because he was trying to leave after purposely committing arsen.
Did this business have insurance -- this type of business would have inspections from fire department -- who has the records!!
It did not.
@@ChrisSmith-kw4gn they had to have insurance -- then WHY would they have that type of business !!
@patriciamantooth2638 read some articles about it. They lied about what they stocked and their insurance won't cover what happened.
A lot missing here,,,, but the reporting I think is due to a demand for answers. Still,,, skimming over facts. 😮
You can arrest the owner of Eastside oil for dumping oil into the Mississippi river
The Owner was destroyed??
Murder & arson or fear of a police state prosecution? What political party is he?

He is registered NPA and the crime was negligence in that he stored dangerous materials together. I don't know if there was criminal intent, but I am sure that an investigation will uncover other shady practices. At this point, there could be a sealed Federal indictment which prompted an interstate effort.
Talk about trying to taint a jury. If you are trying to do a fair investigation, shut up and do your job. Stop going on TV and doing your best to screw a case up. I, the guy's attorney, must love these idiots.
Got paid to do my job everyday , nobody held news conferences talking about how great it was I did my job I was being paid to do or just how amazing I did something at all.
Only been 8 minutes can’t stands no more !
These guys stroke themselves to no end. I'm suprised he didn't call everyone a hero too.
They might be required by law to give out this information, such as a sunshine law, that compells them to do things like this. I've got no horse in this race, but just pointing out they might have to do this for reasons other than "good press".
Y'all need to realize the magnitude of the event that night. I live a mile southeast of the warehouse. I started hearing popping noises and wondered if a Consumers Power (local natural gas supplier) site just north of the warehouse was what exploded. Canisters were flying everywhere, debris landing 2 miles away, people (me too) driving to the site to see what the heck was going on, and police and fire vehicles everywhere in the involved intersection. It was nuts. These people deserve some respect for handling that.
They were larger canisters than the standard size whip it. Not spray cans but high pressure vessels intended for recreational drug uses. I don't know what pressure it takes to keep nitrious oxide a liquid at sea level however it has to be a lot higher than carbon dioxide does.
I honestly don’t understand why all 50 states don’t have them helicopters for highway patrol
These people sound like they're already trying and convicting someone
Thin Blue Line Gang doing what they do best….
What specifically was illegal? it can't be selling and storing vape pens because millions of stores in this country store and sell vape pens, obviously with lithium batteries in them.
Good point.
And something I had never consider

When did every police dept start doing press conferences over everyday crimes that have been happening for decades?? I just want the news not a graphic novel written by horrid want to be novelist
It’s not hard to wait until the news disseminates the press conference into a couple minutes just for you.
There have been having press conferences for a long time to inform press and the public of investigations (paid for by their taxes) definitely started before you were born.
Although President Woodrow Wilson held the first presidential press conference on March 15,1913, and President Eisenhower held the first televised (film footage) press conference January 19, 1955, President John F. Kennedy was the first to use the medium of television to address the American people live without delay or editing.

Apparently if a business burns down and somebody dies, the business owner is guilty of manslaughter…
You should see what they do when a tail light is out.
They didnt have licensing for the butane or nitrous or the thousands gallons of diesel fuel stored inside the building
@@gizmo-xc4eb He's being charged with manslaughter. Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The officials keep repeating this often.
He lies perfectly. He actually sounds sane and believable
Like a politician
and so it begins
Nothing is "beginning." You're just a dim wit who thinks that making doomsday predictions at everything makes you sound smart. It actually has the opposite affact. The fact that you don't make any specific claims about what "it" is proves that you have no idea what is happening and just think making predictions makes you seem smart.
If I were you if you’re looking for criminals, check this check a homeless shelter
Are you having a stroke? Also, being homeless isn't a crime.

Yes. It is a faily common name. You just have the brain of a dog, so you have a dog-like Pavlovian response to hearing the name of the person the TV told you to blame for everything.

So whats the crime? Being a business owner of a business that burned down?
So anytime there is a fire and a person is permanently deleted the business owner is guilty of manslaughter? 🤦♂️
Was there illegal stuff in his business? I am confused here…
Just imagine if these clowns showed up at every car dealer that sold the cars that had the defective airbags in them that killed people?
I have a feeling this business owner is going to sue these idiots and have a big payday. They are publicly convicting him and there hasnt even been a trial yet. Hell the finger print ink is probably still wet.
My question is why were they storing chemicals that they had no permit for what were they going to use it for and since he had a criminal past how did he get a business license
Fire at his building and butane tanks exploded and killed a kid standing a 1/4 mile away. This happened 6 weeks ago.
Yes. 100% yes. Business owners should be held accountable for their actions. Ownign a business does not put you above the law. Take some personal responsability for your actions.
