hey this might be a little late, but i recommend using rubbing alcohol to clean the earrings before wearing them. test out what works for you!

It is lock down so I decided to gift my mother earings I made all things just I need hooks I am 10 years old so it was not easy for me to arrange all the tools so I just want to say it is the easiest way to make hooks .

Creative Cheers of Fashion Laura Flohr hi Laura, yes it does, but only a tiny bit, barely noticeable. Of course if it was a lot bigger(not sure what type of round nose pliers others use) you could cut off a bit of the little loop to make them same. Lots of love ❤️

I have a problem: after leaving my earrings in the car for a while, the hook starts bending at the slightest touch of my finger. How do I get it back to normal??
what material did you use and what thickness of the wire? It's possible that it was really hot in the car and therefore the metal started to get softer. you can always try to harden it by either slightly hammering them with soft hammer like rawhide or silicone, or twist slightly with pliers.

Hi Helena I wanted to ask you something. I can't wear costume jewelry because I'm allergic to them, but I really want to try making these hooks. Can you give me an advice?
Hi lovely! I'm not sure what kind of metals you are allergic to exactly. You could try to use some gold filled/ silver filled or sterling silver wire (half hard), but some people can't even use these, so I guess you'd need to test it to see how you react to these wires. I've heard niobium is good for sensitive skin and then of course gold, stainless steel, titanium, but some of them are rather pricey... I hope you find something that will agree with your skin 😘
