It can reset all those things. There are limits though. I used this tool a lot when I was a mobile calibration tech for body shops. Some calibrations as well as reseting an airbag module ( if manufacturers allow it ) may still need to be performed by a factory scan tool. But, that is a very rare. For 95% of things, this tool will do it. Go check out my new review on the Otofix d1 pro. Same tool but cheaper!
What happens if I purchase the autel 906 pro then I never update it after the 1 year subcription expires..? If the subcription will expire by the end of 2023, does it mean the autel device cannot be used for the car model year 2024 and newer...?
Great review! With the Bluetooth version of the Autel MS906, do you still have the option of using a wired connection using a cable, or are you stuck with only bluetooth?
you can connect to the vci with a usb cable (provided in the box.) for normal diagnostics bluetooth works great for me. there have been a couple rare times that i've had to use the wired connection because a relearn/reset function would fail or hang over bluetooth but then would successfully work while hard wired. so if you have problems with a function (esp bidirectional/programming related try a physical connection and see what happens
So I just bought the ms906 pro. I know I need Auto Auth to erase codes on Chrysler . I could not even get it to read codes on a 2015 Ram. Does that sound right?

you get what you pay for. if you buy a $500 dollar tool. it wont have as many abilities as a $2k dollar tool. in my experience. autel has far more capabilities then topdon. topdon is a a stolen reskined version of launch and in my experience with their higher end tools, they are extremely buggy.@@adams6798

Bought an Autel scanner (no bi-directional capability) I think in 2011. Was like $300 back then and the $35 scanners these days do the same thing. I don’t wrench for shops anymore, and was looking for something similar to snap-on modis/solis. Settled on the mp900-ts which I guess is supposed to be as capable as all the prior mk906/pros? They have too many models to choose from, and no clear specs as to why one is 1k, and another is 2k 😂 So I guess I made a decent choice.
Yes it will but what model years you have will not update so say you stop updating in 2023 but then need to scan a 2024, the tool will not be able to work on it. But, if you mainly work on older models you will be fine.
YES. i use mine professionally everyday...ive had it 6 years and only updated 2x. you only need a subscription to get the latest available updates. whatever you already have downloaded on your tool will be yours for as long as it physically lasts

@@mikelewis6965 being hyped isn’t a specialty for scan tools. Honestly most scan tools will work on most hybrids. You can’t go wrong with a Autel 919 or a launch x431 throttle but those are pricey. Even check out some of topdon offerings.
What is the differences between the ms906pro-ts and the mk808s-ts? The 808s-ts is half the cost of the 906pro-ts. Both are BT/wireless and have TPMS capabilities. Great video !
I upgraded from 808s ts to a 906 pro ts. 906 can have more functions depending on the vehicle you are working on, it can do some coding while the 808 can do none. Also 906 has support for doip and canfd. Tpms functions are the same from what I have seen.
autel has worst warranty in the biz,, i have 3 tools no matter what they say about sub is your warranty when they were new they still were turned down,, my 906bt has had a cord to vci since day one ,, some upgrade from ms906 who went buggy then used restore only to wipe tool?? Restore device to factory settings removes all vehicle software ? as for my tpms tool its failed with errors from day one!!! the topdon wins if they care about customer!!!!!!!!

Correct. You can still use it but any bug fixes or newer cars from that point on will no longer be available

You can hard wire it to the dongle but I have never needed to do that

They do have a broad spectrum of scan tools. That is for sure but the us supported tools is a much shorter list.

Yes. However I have had some trouble with a few very modern Highlander hybrids. That may have since been resolved however.

thank you! the 808s has less software functionality. lower grade hardware and a slower tool in general. 808 is better for a DIY guy.
