Jimmy Deresta called. He wants his steering wheel back. Good job, thanks.
I restored my 68 AMX wheel it turned out so nice I have bought several old wheels to restore and sell. most satisfying resto to do.
Great job!!! Surely your video will help me to restore my 1951 Mercury steering wheel. Thank you, man!
Did you ever finish your 51 mercury steering wheel Mateus Trindade??
Hey Road King I thought I was watching Jimmy Deresta the wheel looks great I'll see you in a couple of weeks at Washingtons crossing
Man you hit that one out of the park. Very nicely done! Its amazing what you can do with epoxies now.
Great Job Road King. The next time I need a steering wheel restored i know who I'M sending it to. LOL Have a great week!!!
805 cali in the house. Great vid
Steering the channel in a different way wheelie don't know about this Roadking just kidding Top job as
always one more part for truck done nice one. Going to Keep both hands on the wheel for the video.
Thats a great Charlie Chaplin impression! Lol Also nice job on the steering wheel!
No audio! A silent Road King! When's the last time we didn't hear he had a repair opinion on anything! This must be Road Kings attempt at Subscriber humor. OK you got us Road, we want to hear your voice again. LOL. It's just not a Road King video without hearing your pearls of wisdom on your running commentary on things. Thanks for sharing. LOVED the color! Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
It worked for Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, I thought it might work for Me!!☺
A little bit of hand acting and high speed mime... like the experiment in video, love the steering wheel. Great job!
Works out well RK...Remember the Devcon I used on that VOXY engine...It's still holding up...It came it the other day for a rego check and she shad it hasn't missed a beat.
Thanks Mate!! Yeah if it's prepped and mixed right epoxy can solve alotta problems!!☺
I have a '59 or '60 Ford F-100 steering wheel that I need to both resize to a smaller OD, but want to reproduce the finger depressions on the back of the new, smaller Diameter outer wheel. Watching this video, I figured out how to go about that process. Thanks!
Thumbs up RoadKing! I do miss your usual commentary! Is that wheel for the Ford pickup? ...Newk from Kentucky
Thanks Newk!! Yeah it's for the F100!! We'll be back to business as usual in the next videos!! We just did this to save us hours and hours of editing!!☺
Nice work show how to save the steering wheel on a classic vehicle. You saved the day on this project Buddy
Thanks Lloyd!! Hopefully it fits the F-100, right now there is a little Grant Wheel in there!!☺
Great job RK! Is your throat sore? Miss the running commentary. Also, in a previous video you demonstrated how the epoxy would not stick to plastic. Is this a different epoxy or a different plastic wheel?
Thanks John!! That wheel was more like a real hard rubber, than plastic!! The stuff I used was the same stuff the Pros use to repair wheels!!☺
At 12:55 mark you have a clear liquid what is that ? Didn’t your epoxy already hardened up on you ?
Nice result. Give Roadking a big enough tub of epoxy and a file and he'll build a space shuttle.
Miss the colorful commentary! Hope all is well with you and the fam!
Thanks Bud!! We'll be back to business as usual in the next videos!! We just did this to save us hours and hours of editing!!☺
Hi Road King! As others have said I do miss your voice over. But, I do like seeing the whole process in one video. Very satisfying.
man that is a awesome job on that maybe I should have that done for my truck steering wheel it really needs it
Nice job, what’s that off from.
Happy Labor Day Mister Road King
Hello 805ROADKING
Would you interested in doing a 67 Ford Econoline wheel?
Wow, I was wondering why you were working so fast, then I remembered you were using quick drying epoxy.
This episode reminds me of a feature found in the old Mechanix Illustrated magazine called the "Wordless Workshop". Everything was made, fixed, improved purely thru illustration.
Great job. I wish you lived next door. I'd be bringing the Pizza as the price of admission.
Is he using lacquer thinner to level and smooth it out??
I have to say that I was surprised that it was a silent movie, but I did enjoy seeing Road King save something that allot of people would have either tossed out, or overpaid to have restored.
Nice job! Crockett and Tubbs from Miami should be there soon looking for the missing shipment of mid 80s cocaine.
You gonna balance that?
Awesome, that came out great! Is that for the pickup?
Thanks Chris!! Yeah the Truck has a small Grant Wheel in there now, I hope this one fits!!☺
Where do you find that brand epoxy lol? But where do you get the cans I cant find it in anything but little tubes and takes so much when I use it its a big hassle.
I picked them up at an Army Surplus auction, there wasn't any name on it!!☺
WOW That looks nice ...Now I want to find some old steering wheel to restore just to hang it on the wall
If I had known you restored steering wheels, I would've asked you to do mine.
Interesting color. Contact high when you use it? (Some of those solvents... man.)
Can u fix a steering wheel I have on a tractor
Everot, what’s going on with the OHV Briggs motor. Regards Frank
We usually do all our machining during the winter when we're not so busy with Shows!! We'll probably finish it up then!!☺
It looked like it had a price tag on it before he started cleaning it up. What is the status of the pickup?
:31 seconds - "REALLY GOOD DEGREASER".
I'm so hesitant to do this. I'm up in Northern Canada and worried that all that hard work will just crack and shrink again. We got some nasty cold winters.
Gotta say RK that your epoxy gave you some good working time,,,, looks great pal.
Thanks Carl!! Yeah that's what I like about it, ya got plenty of time to work!!☺
I enjoyed the video and it was informative but it would have been nice if you told us what you ere using or at least held it up long enough to read the labels.
awesome thank you
In the first minute I thought I was watching Wheel of Fortune! But no Vanna White...……..and no "Aww right Nuffa Dis" at the end. But quality shows it was an RK job all the way!
Nice Ford wheel. This will look great in/on your pick up.
But,...I'd rather hear you as you work on things like this in future., I thought first the sound was gone on my computer!!
We'll be back to business as usual in the next videos!! We just did this to save us hours and hours of editing!!☺
@@805ROADKING Yes I understand the process and I do appreciate your work too.
Don’t have much of a chance to watch now, I’m in Pt St Lucie, which could be ground zero for hurricane Dorian, Cat 4. But I need a break from preparation.
Thanks. This is gonna be Mr Toads Wild Ride, fo sho. What a way to f up a 3 day weekend.
roadking you haven't moved that fast in 20 years lol
Brother RK,
What happened to your voice? You sounded horrible throughout your whole movie. It ain't the same, you playin' Charlie Chaplin. Your commentary is half the enjoyment. I was sceptical at first with the paint color, though I knew it was the same as your truck, but that horn cover made me see the light, Sweet Jesus, Hallelujah!
Another great movie by RK Productions.
Road King, DDS. Loose your voice, cat got your tongue?
Blue steering wheel? For that blue truck you've been working on? (How's that coming?)
How much did the phone company pay you for rust-proofing their junction box?
No narration. Wow interesting. Good for you.
👍👍
Beautiful work buddy! :) I also enjoyed the random "alien whale" noises in the background ;)
Just hearing the dremel hissing away made my face numb, head pound and my teeth scream like I was having a cavity drilled.
Where is Road King and his talking to us?
Paint the ribbed area black to give it some contrast
@@victorbitter583 yeah, white would be nice too.
But depends on the car it's mounted to
@@Doan84 It does but I reckon black would clash with that colour far too much. White would set it off nice.
Phrases missed. 1. The file is you friend. 2. You kill me Roadking. 3. 'Nuff of dis. 😶
Ouch! That Dremel is just like going to the dentists....
Hay RK I have an older ford shifter knob I'll give ya if you want it. It's acorn shaped with a round metal piece on top with Ford in the center. It needs a bit of tlc with a crack up the side but nothing a little epoxy won't fix.
@@805ROADKING no problem. I just thought it was a cool piece at the flea market.
Looking good, not sure if I would want to brace myself to it during a crash thou..
The steel ring molded inside it still takes all the force. He's just repairing where the molded rubber has dried out, shrunk, and cracked with age.
Could not see what you wrote on paper. Why not just use a dremel on low speed
LOL why is your epoxy so secretive?
It's no secret Scooter!! That's Army Surplus, if you can get it, it's good stuff!!☺
lol for that fact neither have i lol
Nuffa This.
REALLY !!! Here we go again, another Jimmy Diresta wannabe , Get your own gig , you NEVER hear Jimmy Diresta saying Nuff of this , now do you ??? What's that did I hear the phone ring in the background of the Silent movie show, Jimmy is coming over to discuss a few things, Nuff of this for sure. LOL
But you know English! lol Your not Russian or Chinese :P Sad day when no road king voice :/
LOL Your horrible with a RATTLE CAN..................... JK of course you get em done either way
You’re the epoxy master! That’s the way to crack fix those original wheels for sure. I always like original steering wheels over jazzed up modern blingy stuff! Nice!
