    Electric tech has potential but it's still not there... Give it 20 years and will become mature. Cars will be lighter, more efficient and better overall than combustion cars. I'll let the manufacturers do their homework and then I'll put my money in. For now the car makers are conducting R&D funded by customers(early adopters).
    For the moment:
    - you could see GT3 was faster in the medium speed corners - you can't beat physics laws (2300kg+ has a big momentum), no matter how much torque vectoring you can see that in corners car behaves like a heavier car. What good 600 hp when car is so heavy and battery overheats?
    - overheating after 1.5 laps shows the tech is not mature yet as I said
    - wind hissing, electric noise and occasional tire squeak does not sound to me too exciting
    - going 50mph on highway to save electricity, a bit embarrassing given the price/prestige of such car

      Your opening statement was that electric tech is not ready yet and needs 20 more years, and yet you follow up by highlighting the negatives and implicating that it's is an unworthy, embarrassing endeavor, as if it SHOULD HAVE been ready and flawless. You're contradicting yourself. Why do you feel the need to criticize early technology if you already know that it isn't ready yet? That's like criticising your child on why they are not doing enough to support the family financially but in truth, they cannot yet. What is the constructive thing here? I don't see how your comment helps make the cars better, or am I missing something here???
      Furthermore, your sentences do sound a little bit pretentious at times, because you keep speaking of things like 'I wouldn't buy it…', 'as I said', 'i'll let them do the homework', 'does not sound exciting to me' , etc… I don't know if it's your choice of grammar because you're not a native speaker or if you genuinely feel that way, but it's giving off a sensation that you are the center of everything. It's like answering a question that nobody asked you in the first place. These are the answers when somebody asks you, would you buy this car? The video obviously just showcases the performance and capability of the Taycan. It did not CLAIM that the Taycan was better, so why all the negative criticisms?
      If you wanted to explain the pros and cons of the car and the future of electric cars in general, you could do it in a less demeaning manner than this aggressive style of writing (just a suggestion). If it is just grammar and you truly do not feel or is trying to act that way, I apologise in advance, but your word choice really makes the whole comment look like you're trying to make Porsche look bad even though they tried their best because early technology is always flawed and needs time to be improved upon.
      As to who asked for my opinion, it is you. Because I was responding to you. When you state an opinion you should already expect that somebody will challenge it. But your comment came out of nowhere so really, nobody asked.

    This is one amazing Electric car. Not disappointing at all.
    Compared to Tesla, the model S will over heat the batteries while the Model 3 will overheat the brakes. So the Teslas will be fun for MAY BE 5% of the total lap?

    • @HotHatchTV
      @HotHatchTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems like this one overheats as well... For 200k euros, didn't expect that. Put some other brakes on a model 3 and you are still at a 3th of the price of this one. Nevertheless, very nice driving!

    • @derbigpr500
      @derbigpr500 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HotHatchTV "Overheats" in Porsche and Tesla are different. Tesla goes into limp mode, basically forcing you to stop or drive very slowly, and it happens after half a lap of pushing on nurburgring. Porsche just wars on high temperature first, and then if you keep pushing limits the power a bit...still had over 500hp available after it "overheated", and it happened after a full 1,5 laps of pushing on track. That's 35 km's of hard driving on track. Most petrol cars overheat by that time too and start to give oil temp warnings. It's not a track car, its a luxury car for the road, and on the roads it will never overheat.

    Die Performance hat nur für eine Runde gereicht!
    In der zweiten Runde war die Batterie zu heiß und die Elektronik regelt die Leistung runter.
    Übrigens ein Manko aller E-Autos, auch bei Tesla.
    Man kann 10 Minuten schneller als 160km/h fahren, dann ist der Spaß vorbei und die Kontaktstellen, Batterie, Regler werden zu heiß.
    Dann wird erstmal für ca. 30 Minuten die Höchstgeschwindigkeit auf 160km/h begrenzt um die Elektronik abzukühlen.
    Nur, das steht in keinem Prospekt und wird einem auch nicht gesagt.
    Das erfährt man, wenn man in der Branche arbeitet auf Schulungen.

      I think he would also drive a lot more reserve if systems wouldn't be helping. It looks like he tries to make the electronics get him faster by forcing things a normal car wouldn't do or couldn't because of all this torque vectoring magic. If you throw a drivers car around like that it would let you know to drive it like you should by just being dangerous and not fast so you drive like you should, but if you have this kind of assistance anyway, why not try to exploit it and look whats possible through that. I kind of understand both and I would always rather have it analog, but I think I could find some enjoyment in driving that Taycan with all on as well were the systems are acting with performance in mind and not just to hold you back. I drove a Westfield SE on the Nordschleife which not even has power steering or assisted brakes and I find it to be the best experience so far and driving a 5series there even though it was quicker didn't me nearly as much enjoyment, but if I now imagine it being a Taycan I think I would have some fun, probably still not as much as with the raw Westfield.
