This car is simply amazing. Top it off with an amazing presentation and production by Chris Harris and Top Gear, how does this not give you goose bumps!
Well is more of a marketing thing. Porsche entire line of cars have something of a naming scheme when it comes to the term "Turbo". You want the top performing car out of the company, it's going to have "Turbo" badge to the name. You the very best they have to offer, "Turbo S". It's just that if you are thinking Turbo charger, then it's really, really redundant with the Taycan. Porsche isn't, and they treat the Taycan no differently than the rest of it's lineup.
Heiko Rudi We do it in the states too. When running a machine at work I’ll ask “where’s the turbo on this thing?” meaning turn the speed up. Obviously knowing there is no turbocharge on a conveyor belt etc.
This is still a device, electric cars just dont envoke any feelings when youre in one. Aight this turbo thing is driving me crazy: Turbo is latin and means fast, its used the same way in German. If you wanna talk about a Turbo Charger you specifically say Turbo charger (Turbolader) in German. So since Porsche is a German company its fair for them to use Turbo that way.
Turbo comes from the latin word turbo - vortex, turbulence. So no, it doesn't.

Porsche isn't, and they treat the Taycan no differently than the rest of it's lineup.
we germans use 'turbo' as an urban slang replacement for the word 'fast'.

We do it in the states too. When running a machine at work I’ll ask “where’s the turbo on this thing?” meaning turn the speed up. Obviously knowing there is no turbocharge on a conveyor belt etc.

Tesla is good but until they start making a purpose-built sports cars, I don't think their cars warrant a comparison. They don’t degrade mechanically like ICE cars so I don’t think electric cars will depreciate much at all
Don't count on it any day soon. The EV demand is a lot higher than the supply.
Rather not if they lose hp and range over time and usage the way EV’s generally do. Hopefully they don’t but I imagine owners being abusive to them. ICE doesn’t have that problem. That said, this car is the first EV that I’ve ever liked for all out performance. Finally, someone does EV’s right. It had to be Porsche.

What is the name of the music at 3:30min?
Tesla we make the best electric cars.
Porsche - "hold my beer"
They don't make sport cars ...yet , when roadster is out , they do
The only sports car tesla makes is the roadster and the roadster makes the Taycan look like a horse with a broken leg.
People seem to forget that the Model S is a 5 seater with a boot big enough for 2 st bernards...it's not a sports car. Despite this, the biggest car company in teh world can only just barely match it in acceleration. Funny that. The only time the Porsche wins the race is above 120 mph....in other words where it doesnt matter. That in itself is only a result of the 2 gear transmission.
@@sakimano When Porsche makes an electric coupe supercar, it will destroy anything Tesla makes. Let me know when Tesla fixes their paint issues, panel gap issues and cheap $30K budget car interiors too. Tesla is the iPhone of electric cars. It's appeal is mostly to tech-savvy people not car enthusiasts. That's why Porsche will maintain internal combustion engines in the 911 for as long as possible since car enthusiasts care about the driving experience not just performance.

For many reasons
First, you find "turbo" in alot of names which means fast and obviously not turbo, a good example is the processor in your computer always says "turbo boost"
