Okay, I swear, the rest of the scene is very important and I love the realism of it (Mustafa no longer feeling connected to his father, Mahidevran facing that their only allies are each other) but I always, without fail, laugh over Hatice's line of, "Mahidevran is very nervous. I have never seen her like this before." Because, um, Hatice, they drag that poor woman through enough hysterics to rival your own.

If someone raised you from nothing, absolute nothing to one of the most powerful men in the world during your lifetime, if you are innocent, no bad mouthing no matter from whom will bring you down. Hurrem didn't take the eye watering bribes fron head of states for Ibrahim. As you know, one of the first edits from Suleiman was against bribes and Beyhan's husband was executed because of it.
What? Mustafa said that Ibrahim was killed only because he supported him? Mahidevran had to put this in his head because that was not true. Ibrahim died because he said he is basically more important than Sultan himself.

Why keep blaming hurrem, ibraham died due to his own ego, thinking he was equal to the sultan, mustafa is a prisoner to his own mistakes, plus hurrem has showed that when the sultan dies she would take her own life,. Mahidevran started this war.,now she acts like a victim,

Well history described mustafas death differently, its suleiman own fault. Mustafa was indeed in the Show and real life loved by the soldiers and people and suleiman was to 100% jealous. I do not know how deep Hurrem influenced him, but she is not innocent either. Thank god that suleiman has no a legendary legacy, only what he could offer was a drunkard son, who basically did nothing for the empire.
By the way, did Mustafa ever found out that his mother were planning to execute his brothers (behind his back because she considered him to be too “good hearted”) when their father lay in a coma?

By this time in his life, he probably knew about it because his mother was telling the foreign ambassadors they invited to his sanjak.
Its sad because Mustafa was loyal and the best leader of all Suleiman’s sons. For the good of the Ottoman Empire, Suleiman should’ve cherished him instead of constantly see threats. His greatest mistake.
Outside of Mehmed, he really was the strongest candidate of the time. The real tragedy in it for me that it all came down to being distanced from his father and one slipup that ultimately proved fatal. (I'd also grieve of Hürrem's sons all had to die, but, honestly, the whole situation these people found themselves in is painful and tragic when you examine it.)
Poor mustafa didn't deserve that.....he was always loyal and loving towards his father, but his "father" didn't return the same.....hatice was already dead, but I can't imagine shah's (and fatma and beyhan) reaction to what the sultan was capable of doing to their dear mustafa, I'm sure they could've never fathomed such a monstrosity, least from their own brother who was once kind and fair

If a sultan allowed himself to be even the slightest disobeyed or questioned he was considered weak. He was a autocrat and demanded blind loyalty. Mustafa knew that but couldn’t accept it.

Mustafa lost his father's respect because he disobeyed. Mahidevran is simply incapable of letting go of her vendetta against Hurrem. She has done so many things to Hurrem and now that the chickens came home to roost, it's somehow still Hurrem's fault. All these women simply want Suleysman' s attention and favor and will never get over that he chose his wife over them.

Mustafa never seemed to appreciate that he was being given a chance to prove himself despite being sent to a different province. The more mistakes he made, despite the rules and Suleiman's warnings, the further away from the throne he was sent. Even in the end when hurrem worried Suleiman would die, she still called him, knowing he could sit the throne and have them all killed. She didn't have to do that.bit did it for her love, because he was calling out for Mustafa. Mahidevran and others filled Mustafa head with bad thoughts, blaming everything on hurrem. She always had Suleiman's best interests at heart and her children's protection in mind
In my view Mustafa is right. Ibrahim did not betray Suleyman and did not rebel. Yes, he was arrogant and powerhungry, but overall he was loyal to Suleyman and a very capable statesman and soldier. I think the real motive for his execution was not his arrogance but the fear of Suleyman that Ibrahim could be a better stateman by supporting Mustafa as the future ruler. But Suleyman did not want a strong and independent successor. He wanted someone who obeyed blindly and could not be a threat to him. That is why Selim the drinker inherited the throne in the end.
He literally called Suleiman a lion and himself as the lion tamer if that's not betrayal I don't know what is.
@@richajain7753 But he didn't rebel and he didn't want to replace Suleyman. He always acted in favor of the Ottoman Empire and just wanted to influence Suleyman ("tame him"). If you call the wish of influence betrayal you have to put each lobbyist or consultant of a politician or monarch into prison (incl. Hurrem) or execute him.
He literally said if I don't approve it his majesty won't approve it either. He is not loyal. He wants Mustafa to ascend so he can continue his powerhunger he can't do it if one of hurrem's son ruled the empire

He only demanded obedience and strict compliance from potential successors which is only reasonable because that was the relationship he had with his father. If you look at Suleiman's relationship with Sultan Selim his father. He strictly complied and never questioned his father and he ended up being a great Sultan.
How innocent they played...they forgot the greed of Ibrahim....sultan forgave him many times...but he didn't learn same attitude of mustafa...hurrem is successful whit if she was not ....the situation will be oposite mustafa.and her mother killed all of his sons and imagined hurram stading crying for all his sons in a tomb in front of the three graves...by the way .in reality muwtafa rebelled against his father like bayazid did later...
