Did you use the Logic of English Foundations in addition to the other curriculums you mentioned? I think you have a video talking about the Logic of English Foundations...if not I am mistaken.
I used LOE with my then 1st grader. I didn't use it with my Kindergartener this year. We used All About Reading for this partivlar child it was a better fit.
Thank you for sharing! I was looking up videos about the All About Reading program and I came upon yours. This is amazing to me, because I had already chosen All about Reading Level 1, Get Ready for the Code A-C, Math-U-See Primer, and Abeka math to go along for this upcoming Kindergarten year! We did My Father's World for preschool last year but I am very new to homeschooling. I am so excited someone else has done these programs together for their Kindergartener. Would you do a review of these programs and how they went for you and your year?
Thank you for sharing. May I please ask you, at this point in your homeschool experience..which do you prefer, All About Reading or Logic of English? Truly greatly appreciate your thoughts in advance.
We are really enjoying AAR. I prefer that over LOE Foundations for simplicity and for teaching reading. LOE was a complete LA program and I'm enjoying teaching reading skills in isolation with AAR much better.
Along with this, do you think it would be doable to do AAR and purchase the LOE game book to do along with AAR? My son is less of a crafty (coloring, cutting) type of kid, and more of a play games kid, so that makes me want to NOT do AAR, but LOE seems a little too much. I am torn between doing LOE (knowing I might just have to skip some of it), or doing AAR with LOE games. You are one of few people I have found that has done both programs. There are a million unboxing videos, but not a lot of people who've completed the programs.
AAR is totally a complete reading program. There is absolutely no writing involved but my son loves worksheets so I add in explode the code because he gets to apply pencil to paper practice for the skills he is learning in AAR. In ETC books a-c it's more letter sounds and handwriting lowercase letters but in book 1 of etc he will be reading and writing short vowel sound words like he's reading in AAR. Hope that makes sense.
Great video! I’m loving All About Reading and A Reason For Handwriting with my 5 year-old! My daughter loves that she gets to color after writing her letters and I like the progression of lowercase letters, however I don’t really use the roofline and basement terminology..but that’s not a big deal :)
Prayers & Ponytails Thank you! Glad to hear! We also love AAR and I'm excited to see how my lil guy does with A reason for handwriting format. The lines will be new for him (a side from what abeka Math has ) because he is use the the gray block space for letters, from HWOT.
Love seeing what other mamas are using, especially if it’s the same grades as my kids. My daughter is going to be in kinder too. And I love explode the code!
Rachel at day2dayjoys Me too! I love the learning to read stage, although it wasn't that way with my first, it gets easier and now it's just plain fun! Less stress I guess? Have a great year with your kinder! 😃
We love AAR! Great program. We also use Explode the Code and love it. I used Bob Books many years ago when I homeschooled my now adult children. We tried A Reason for Handwriting. Let us know what you think. We love Math U See. You have many similarities to our homeschool. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing! I’m going to have to look into Abeka Number Skills K5 and A reason for handwriting.
Early Learning Mom Abeka Math has been great for him so far and we're excited to try A Reason For Handwriting too!
I'm also wondering why you decided to do explode the code. My understanding was that AAR was a complete phonics reading program. Can you elaborate?

Always love to see your vídeos 👍😃
