    I love this video, so many questions answered lol and I seriously didn’t even know they can find you like an in place situation like not having to go to NYC etc that’s amazing. Colombia was right near me when I lived in NY and it’s such a great school! I love that your going to Fordham such an amazing school. I can’t wait to hear about your first day. I loved this video!

    Loved this video! I currently have a bachelors in film arts and have been working in film for two years and honestly, I’ve been wanting to do something new. I’ve always loved working with kids but not as a teacher. I love volunteering with kids at my local school and want to work with kids more 1 on 1. I didn’t know you can get an MSW with any bachelors degree. This is so awesome!

    This video was so informative. I’m thinking about applying to Columbia and NYU’s MSW programs. I would love to hear more about ur experience with Columbia’s application process/acceptance.
    Also did you include a GRE score in your applications?

    Hi, thank you so much for all the videos! Is there any field in social work where you don't have to do home visits?

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I can think of more without home visits than those with! The only areas of social work (that I can think of) that may involve home visits would be school social workers (depends on the expectations of the school), child protective social workers, and in-home therapy social workers. I did a few home visits interning in an elementary school but my current job in the justice system does not involve any home visits.

    Do you have to provide these requirements for MSW if you are getting your degree at the same school you get your bachelor’s degree?

    Hi Anna! My bachelors is so different than social work (graphic design) do you think it could still translate over? I thought I should volunteer for something social work related just to have a bit of a buffer. Any tips?

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes! you can get an MSW w/ any bachelor degree :) they likely would just be looking in your personal statement why you're interested in the field since it would be different than your undergrad degree. but there are lots of people in my classes who have bachelors from diff areas of study. volunteering could be great for experience and also to help you start to figure out which area of social work/population to work with is most interesting to you

    Great video! I've loved following your journey. I have a more personal question for you if you feel comfortable addressing it... do you ever feel insecure about your age going into your MSW? I am a few years older than you and am entering an MSW program where I am one of the youngest students. For some reason I get some in my head about this and feel like I won't do as well as everyone else or won't be taken seriously in my field placement because of my age. It's a bit irrational and I'm sure just a reflection of imposter syndrome... but wondering if you experience the same :)

    • @AnnaBea
      @AnnaBea  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have felt that especially entering this new field placement! My supervisor last field was young, too, and I was with kids so I think I felt it less then but at my new placement, clients will be up to 21 years old which is the ~exact same as me~ I’ll make sure to talk about it in videos if it affects me as I begin but a huge source of imposter syndrome for me is def my age. I’m less worried about the classes, but am anticipating that good ole field placement a lot. I always try to combat those thoughts when they come up by reminding myself that I am capable & competent but I def feel you with this one
