Viewer from America here. First of all, I am in no way shape or form, arguing/disputing your numbers, nor am I in any way saying you are dishonest. But correct me if I am wrong, as of today, $163,000 Aussie dollars is $106,435 American dollars. So my issue is, why would anyone (in America) and I am thinking it would likely be the same in Australia, consider/bother to purchase a Chinese Hull? Yes, they are nice, but when all is said and done, a comparable American made hull, pretty much translates to a comparable price depending upon the manufacturer. And if you want to purchase a slighty used boat complete, you are looking at roughly half that cost (give or take). Granted, my comparable numbers are not exact, but I equate them to be within a narrow margin. It is a head scratcher to me as to why anyone (Aussie or American) would opt for the import boat. Am I missing something here? Admittedly, it wouldnt be the first time!😅

My question for you is: Where are you finding a comparable boat to his for $105,000 all in. He is quoting after taxes, electronics, heck even lines and gear. Find me a new boat anywhere near what he is offering for that kind of money.

I think there is a big saving, not sure on the US market but nothing in Australia is cheap, we don’t have the competition in the market.

At that price , buy Australian! Keep the business here where we need it! You will save the freight , import duty , delivery costs in China , etc etc etc. There are plenty of very high quality boat builders in most states especially Queensland! Common guys lets get AU companies up and running long term!

I worked for horse trailer importer and i know there is a ton of perks like you dont just bring a boat in as the containers still have plenty of room, our boss claimed poor as well he could only just afford a 3 million dollar boat, new cars new house plus more, buy aussie built everyone the quality is far superior 😊

How can we afford to do that, we're not all Oligarchs like the Sheila's want, the boys need a nice new n' cheep tidy fishing boat with a few spare $ left over in order to contribute to frock, shoes, and handbag allowances. You know gifting a filleting knife and pair of pink oilskins could be pushing it

Are there any carbon / kevlar boat manufacturers or only aluminum?
What is the cost savings from ordering / importing china vs a local builder of equal quality?
