as a kid who was sent to AA and NA for smoking weed and told I was a drug addict.... and then sent by my parents to Bosnia at 16 to a labor camp for drug addicts (still only having smoked weed and now taken acid and ecstasy a few times)... I had to learn to speak another language and they tricked me into going there and then left me there. the people told me they were never coming back for me and they never did....at age 23 I finally became addicted to my first substance (11 yrs fter being called a drug addict by everyone I loved). yall are right. at 13yo in those AA meetings I couldnt believe that's what people saw in me for smoking some weed.... was I really destined to become a drug addict? or was I surrounded by so many drug addicts that it was a self fulfilling prophecy?🤔... in the end I know I'm responsible for my actions, but I blamed myself for so long. it took me so long to realize that while I ma responsible, we are still all shaped by our environments. funny they didn't consider that.

OMG Landmark Forum! I had friend long ago who had a crush on me, would always ask me out and trash my boyfriend at the time etc. He attended one of their weekend seminars and called me on Sunday because he had a breakthrough at the seminar. He said he realized that he was only asking me out because he knew I would turn him down and that reinforced his belief that he wasn't good enough for anyone and apologized to me. I was like "ok, good for you". So then went on to do a longer program with them. At the end of it, they had like a graduation ceremony and be invited me and bunch of people to attend. So we go and we wound up in small groups in different rooms with reps trying to get us to sign up. It was so crazy high pressure. Stuff like WHAT'S HOLDING YOU BACK FROM ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS? They would not take no for an answer. It was super uncomfortable. Finally, this guy stands up in our group and was like THIS IS FUCKING CULT! DON'T EVER CONTACT ME OR MY FAMILY! He walked out and I looked at my friends and I was like let's get the hell out of here. And we walked out. Our friend who invited us ended up quitting his (really good and stable) job and doing seminars for them around the country. Landmark is very similar to scientology in terms of their high pressure sales and recruiting tactics.
I'm not flushing anything at home until I'm done. I'm standing proud to enjoy my masterpiece every time. Public is different tho. Specially if you think you could break the piping.

Ah, pre covid. Very strange, Tom got up to piss in the middle of Annie's story, came back and started playing videos. Annie took it well, but her body language said she had been dissed. Annie's video wisecracks were the best ("pissing in an apple juice bottle?"), and her hosts were very impressed by her analysis of the "safe space" mentality; and finally, at the announcement that the show was over, she said "Can I finish my Philadelphia story?" Which only took about a minute! Well played!
