- Very rare and exclusive footage: a lucky Star Wars Fan gets their dream come true and visits the set of The Empire Strikes Back, and gets to hang with Luke Skywalker, R2D2 and later Chewbacca. Imagine going through this life changing experience as a very young fan getting to meet the legendary Mark Hamill at his peak and prime!
That poor kid was sitting next to a dirty, hairy monster and on the other side of him was Chewbacca.
That kid looked absolutely terrified of Chewie. Little did he know the real monster was right in front of him.
Assuming Gary Glitter wasn't inside the Chewy costume.

Really heartwarming to see Mark Hamill stay in character and act so kindly towards the nervous kid, Savile notwithstanding. Would have meant the world to me to think Luke Skywalker was my friend at that age.

Remarkable footage. That bit with the picnic basket could almost have been a deleted scene from Empire. Mark is so friendly and laid back, a truly professional actor. Chewbacca coming out "naked" was an unexpected surprise, (i mean for him being there if at all).😄😆

This kid will be 53 now. What a cool memory for a star wars fan of that time. Apart from the Saville meeting of course.
Its impossible to enjoy this rare amazing behind the scenes of Star Wars when its bookended with the child monster Jimmy Saville, the end when he is talking to the boy totally creeps me out. It shows how vulnerable and trusting these children were and how easy it was for him to prey on them. Shame on all those people who covered for him and turned a blind eye. It took guys like Johnny rotten to standup and say the truth but they were shouted down.
The producers and execs at the BBC at the time have a lot of questions to answer. Just like Saville, they got away with it.
idk I glanced at the claims - its kinda vague didnt say anything about boys that age. Teen girls maybe ? Don't you realize that in the 60s/70s girls 14 could get married. and it wasnt taboo to hang out with guys double their age.. & what is it today? same thing - just the law protects the guy if he's young. SO if you can't enjoy it you dont have a good grasp on reality and other people control how you think....

Going to Pinewood to film this must’ve been an amazing experience as a kid, hopefully the JS association hasn’t subsequently spoilt it to much for this kid.
Pinewood has changed so much now although those stages are still there and are as was then.

Forget about the Savile bookends, what an amazing and one off, one of a kind experience for that kid! How many people can truly say they have been on "Dagobah"? And on top of that met Luke Skywalker in full character and costume! (Oh, and R2!). Watching it makes me wonder if he maybe saw or glanced the Yoda puppet (unlikely probably hidden away from prying eyes). And also I wonder if this kid got any photos and also where is he now!

Saville was a C U Next Tuesday, but the things they arranged for some of the kids that wrote in were amazing.
I remember a spoof of The Empire Strikes Back, done by Cracked Magazine, in which they referred to Dagobah as Doggy Bag 😂😂😂
I wasn’t born when The Original Trilogy came out but seeing when it came out in Re Release I in 1997 I thought it was a new movie and coming back home after seeing all three original films my dad Bought Star Wars on Tape I said isn’t the movie still in Theaters and I put it in and I later said it’s different because the Jabba The Hut wasn’t in A New Hope and Neither was Boba Fett and Return of The Jedi had different music like Rock and Roll in Jabba’s Palace and The Victory Celebration wasn’t in it too so I thought this wasn’t the Star Wars movie I didn’t remember seeing until I later found out the movie came out 20 years ago and 27 years before I was born so that was to me a surprise.
