Is X-Lite the most overlooked helmet brand out there? We reckon it might be. Maybe you should be checking out their X-903 sports-touring lid...

Perfect timing, am actually looking at the 903 to replace my road lid (I use and 803 on track and love it) so this review is really helpful....except for the Fazer thou in the video, makes me miss mine, loved that bike 😁👍

Glad the review helped - and I know what you mean about the Fazer. This is my second - the first time I've gone back and revisited a bike I had before! Cheers, Tony

Looks like the adjustment lever for the internal visor sticks out a long ways, I'd be concerned about it catching the ground and wrenching the head sideways during a slide on that side...

I bought month ago and that was a very bad idea. Wind noise is terrible and I can hear crackling non stop

Very good review. Other reviewers take out the cheek pads but never put them back ;-). I am retiring a GT Air. Two gripes, the ear piece blocks fall out easily and are hard to fit back. Lost one. I had two breath guards blow away riding at 60km in the city with the visor up. Not sure the Shoei is that quiet and glasses fog easily. Otherwise happy.
I am looking at the GT Air 2 or Neotech 2. Would you put the X-Lite 903 Carbon ahead of the GT Air 2? Thanks.P

Thanks for the kind comments, Paul. The GT Air 2 still seems to have a reputation for being noisy (though I didn't find it so when wearing one on my bike). The Neotec 2 is very popular and on the whole owners suggest noise isn't an issue. The X-Lite is a good helmet, but the build quality of Japanese helmets like the Shoeis is a level up and I would still put them above the X-Lite, as long as the fit suits you. Thanks for getting in touch and I hope that helps you. Cheers, Tony

hi, can you compare the shell size to nxr2 medium for both? this one look like a tad bigger outer shell. and which one is tighter fitting? thanks

Hi, yes - this helmet is very slightly bigger on equivalent shell size than the Shoei. Based on my experience of the two helmets I'd say the Shoei is the tighter fitting of the two. I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

I can get a great price on this one, but there is no mention of shape. The only consumer review I can find said he had to send it back because it was too round. I am med. oval to long oval, I am afraid I'll be sending it back the day I get it. Any comment on shape? BTW the Shoei GT air II fits me well.

I can only really give my experience and my head fits this helmet well, but my head meets the apparent definition of round shape (it's the same width as length). I've tried one again this morning and there is light pressure to the temples, but not on the front or back, so you may be OK with a medium oval - I suspect long oval may be an issue though., I hope this helps. Cheers, Tony
