3 Types of Pork Adobo (Manila Day 2)

On Day 2 in Manila, we didn’t do very much because I had a lot of work I need to get done, planning for my presentation. So we mostly woke up at the hotel, had breakfast and then moved to a different hotel. Most of the day was spent working.
0:22 Pork Adobo for breakfast - At Discovery Primea, they mentioned the day before that they wanted to bring breakfast to us in our room, and it would be a surprise what they were going to cook. Turned out to be Filipino food, including 3 different types of pork adobo - there was deep fried adobo, normal pork adobo, and coconut milk adobo. All of them were good, but I really like the normal adobo and the coconut milk adobo.
4:40 Transfer to Sofitel Manila - For the conference we were attending, we were sponsored to stay at Sofitel Manila, and so our next step was to move from Discovery Primea to Sofitel. We grabbed an Uber X, which is actually about the same price and more convenient than a taxi - at least from what I found.
7:09 Hanging out for Sunset - For the remaining part of the day, we just stayed in our room at Sofitel, and I really worked hard to complete my presentation. In the evening we spent some time watching the sunset over Manila Bay, which was beautiful.
Disclosure: We were invited to stay at Discovery Primea, so we didn’t pay for our stay. But everything in this video, and all thoughts are my own.

The Philippine mango is the best in the world ...
And ... that adobo in coconut milk is something new. I would surely try that!
Wow! .... --- "Sunset by the bay" --- What better way to experience Manila's gorgeous sunset!
Thanks, Mark, .... I live vicariously through you and your vids ..........

Adobo in coconut milk is so delicious. Boil beef(cut into cubes) until tender. Pour vinegar(the amount depends if you like it more sour or not). Put grind black pepper and salt to taste. Pour coconut milk(you can buy in cans in fililipino stores) and let it simmer until you reach a thick sauce. Put slice unripe papaya(cut in small pieces) or if you don't have papaya you may put spinach or whatever vegetable you want. If you want it spicy you can put the whole jalapeno as many as you want. You may cut it in half so the spicy taste can be absorbed more by the adobo in coconut milk. You may use lamb or chicken instead of beef except pork for the pork tastes not as good compared to beef and chicken. It is better if you could get water buffalo(carabao) for it has more distinct taste when it comes to cooking adobo in coconut milk otherwise known as "adobo sa gata".

GEORGIEgirl. I I had mango in Hawaii. Oh my it was so sweet! I like papaya but loved mango. The mangoes we get in the USA are very small compared to tropical mango. Everything in Hawaii grows large.

I was at my local Filipino food store yesterday and mentioned to them how you had lamb adobo and do they make that. They said they only make chicken or PORK Adobo so you can imagine my surprise when you showed three types of pork adobo. I shall see when my local store makes the pork adobo and think they will make the traditional one. I'll let you know. Thanks for yet another great vlog. 😎🇨🇦💥

My number 1 rule on adobo (Chicken or Pork) is only in the most dire situations will i eat it without diced, crushed or sliced tomato in fish sauce with or without chilies... it just adds so much flavor to it and mellows out the saltiness of the dish
