Super sick, a lot of people skip the chopping process in their videos but I’m glad you made a point to include it. Also, you can hit “resample” while in chop mode to toggle “Zero cross snap”. I found it helps remove the ending click without adjusting the envelope afterwards.
Yes, and sometimes when i record new sample there is also little click in the beginig. I find out that You can solve this by re-moved start point on the real begining of the sample…
Thank you! That content was helpful. I never realized that there is the possibility to toggle to "Project" whilst being in "Tap Tempo" to set an overall BPM for the whole project! I always set the bpm manually for every Bank 🤦♂ So this is a big time saver
Great video fam. Appreciate it. I’ve been using the 303 for like 15 years so, the 404 is basically like a mpc for me in terms of how not limited it is. That being said- I’m still gonna stretch everything on the 303. That grainy stretch is just something else to this day. Never let anyone call you a content creator. You a teacher and a Artist 💯🫡✌️
Definitely very powerful in comparison, feature wise. I've never touched a 303, though. I really appreciate the comment 🙏 that's super encouraging!!! 🍻
No doubt! 🍻 glad this was helpful for you. I tried to grasp ableton a couple times in the past and it didn't work for me. Logic made more sense to me 👈😁 thank You fornthe comment 🙏
This is a VERY helpful video bro. I got my mkii last week and have got to grips with it through watching several different videos. Really wish I'd found your video first!
bro, this is a great video. i hope you didnt sell your sp. regardless, you got great instructional vids dude, this one is helpful. you made it look easier than what i assumed it was
@MrCosmicVictory I did sell, but that was about the 3rd time, and the Patterns of my behavior indicate I'll probably buy one again eventually 😆 but I'm just working with an MPC for now. You got one of those? Thanks for the comment BTW 🍻
@@LiftedNoise yeah i have an sp mk2, mpc live 2, mpc x, maschine, cubase. lately i been using mpc mostly, then the sp. i go through phases too of what i use for a while, so things dont get used for a while but then i go back to it too. especially when they get big updates.
I figured out after the vid though I was mistaken about bpm sync. I'd say you're right about that but it's not timestretching in a traditional sense because it is pitching the sample to fit the tempo.
🙏 I don't have the box no more, got it at goodwill at the check out stand. Rechargeable lithium battery built in and dimmable. I'll look online and see if I can find you a link.
So the time stretching is better on sp 404 than an MPC? I’m not very happy with the MPCs performance in that area but I don’t have experience with others so I wasn’t sure if it was just the nature of manipulating wavs
Well the MPC has 2 ways of time-stretching. The 1st is destructive and done inside the sample edit. The other is real-time WARP which is won't I'm comparing it to because the SP does its BPM SYNC in real time. The MPC WARP creates nasty sounding artifacts that I feel aren't really useable.
Great video, just have to point out 1 thing: What you're calling timestretch on the SP is actually just changing the pitch. That's why it's so clean with no artifacts. Comparing that to timestretch on the MPC is apples to oranges.
Well damn 🤦♂️ I knew I should've checked my work. I had put it through a key detect app and thought it gave me the same key after using the BPM SYNC. Also I guess the pitching is so slow and subtle that I just didn't notice 🤦♂️
@alchemistrpm82 i appreciate that brother. 🍻 the video performed surprisingly well regardless.. I tried to clear it all up in a following video, hopefully people got the message.

Ah that’s what that does… thank you
Awesome tips! You have the best SP404mkII vids. I've only had mine a week, and you made it so I was up and running in no time. Thank you!
That roll button lesson was a life saver.
😎 seems to be what everyone is focused on here in this video and I almost left that detail out 🤣
I missed it, so I went back to 00:54 and this is really a life saver
Thanks bro very helpful
such a breath of fresh air to have a clear voice explaining things, no ego no bull - keep it up
not some British guy with a mouth full of marbles
Them Chops was dumb smoove! Gotta like that. Dope. 💪🏿👍🏿
The more I get into the nooks and crannies of this machine the more it amazes me. There’s definitely a learning curve but it’s been worth the grind
Oh yeah, someone really using it like a sampler
I’m in love with this machine
It is dope! 🍻
I didn’t know about how to actually correctly use that bpm sync, sounds much better than I expected
It's not what I initially thought it was though. Not a timestretch really but actually a tempo sync pitch shifting
This was the video I was looking for on this, thanks, great work
Originally an MPC guy and recently learning 404, I learned much more than time stretching on this vid... Preciate you 🤘
😎🍻 thank You for the comment! Glad to help 🙏
Thank you for an excellent tutorial!
😎🍻 I appreciate it! 🍻
This video is a lifesaver, I kept making thing same mistake and this showed me exactly what I was doing wrong, appreciate you

🤦♂️😂 hey stuff like that happens all the time!
whaaaaat? I didn't know you could do this like the possibility to listen to last few seconds of sample with roll button. thanks!
Yea that was a big deal when I found that one out. Especially for longer loops, kind of tedious to wait for the whole sample to play.
exactly! @@LiftedNoise
👌
awesome tutorial! helped a ton

Wicked! Long time Maschine user and I’m a newbie with the SP-404 mk2. I just learned a lot! Great tutorial!
That's awesome! Welcome over here 🍻 using the maschine together now or a complete switch?

🤣 don't do that!!!
good job

Great video!!!
Did not know about the SHIFT BPM sync. Thanks
Glad to help 🙏👊
That certain point during time stretch, when it slows down is typically at 150% of original bpm
I figured out after the vid though I was mistaken about bpm sync. I'd say you're right about that but it's not timestretching in a traditional sense because it is pitching the sample to fit the tempo.

Bruh. You’re in vinyl mode.
I realized this wasn't timestretch after I made the video. I should have known better.
