The shed as his son called it was a summer house although it was built of timber it was very warm and cosy, basic amenities like having your own pad he had his drum kit playstation ect. Tha lad in question was a bit of a loner similar age to this kid at the time. He could have stayed in the house he chose not to, obviously there is more involved to my freinds story but basically you summed it up.

I know my teenage daughter and I have had times where we made decisions together that she said and seemed to be perfectly ok with at the time. And then months later it came out that she was very upset about it (was sharing a room with my BF's daughter). I honestly didn't know she was all that time as we had had many conversations with her to make sure she felt absolutely comfortable and ok with whatever rooming situation was decided upon. Just saying. I was heartbroken to learn that she felt like it wasn't her room or home anymore as a result of something I thought she was good with. 🤷♀️

This is at least 4 years ago. Anyone heard of something trying to rival tinder? It's never been an interest to me. I wouldn't know. I actually would have quite liked to have a separate bedroom from the house. Not if I was really young and still afraid of ghosts, etc but I could disappear into my cubby house for half a day - or into the library - and I only came into for meals. I was quite happy to never see my father. If I had my dog, if I got my meals sent out, if I had access to a TV, I would be happy as a pig in mud. Main problem would be parents worrying about dodgy strangers maybe realising. The sad thing is this child felt punished and not wanted. To me, it would be wonderful!
Whenever I watch this show and see people talk about difficult things in their past, I always wonder if that's something people do on real first dates or if the show asks them to talk about these things.
I think I know where he lived. I bought my first house off a strange family that were told to move as they had their son in a shed so that the little sister could sleep in the house. It was a very odd sale as the woman had issues with her ex husband and the new husband was very strange, loads of problems with the solicitors contracts due to the circumstances. The boy in the shed would have been around 14-15 years old. The way he describes it is exactly like the shed I saw.
I like the way she listens to him attentively. He seems like a nice fellow But since his upbringing it looks like he is going to have trouble trusting anyone. He may have become accustomed to being alone because it's what he's use to and doesn't feel like he deserves anyone. Is it wrong that I just want to give the dude a hug? It's never been an interest to me. I wouldn't know.
I actually would have quite liked to have a separate bedroom from the house. Not if I was really young and still afraid of ghosts, etc but I could disappear into my cubby house for half a day - or into the library - and I only came into for meals. I was quite happy to never see my father.
If I had my dog, if I got my meals sent out, if I had access to a TV, I would be happy as a pig in mud.
Main problem would be parents worrying about dodgy strangers maybe realising.
The sad thing is this child felt punished and not wanted. To me, it would be wonderful!
Poor guy, I hope he and anyone who is neglected as a child is surrounded by love as they grow up xx

I think I know where he lived. I bought my first house off a strange family that were told to move as they had their son in a shed so that the little sister could sleep in the house. It was a very odd sale as the woman had issues with her ex husband and the new husband was very strange, loads of problems with the solicitors contracts due to the circumstances. The boy in the shed would have been around 14-15 years old. The way he describes it is exactly like the shed I saw.

I like the way she listens to him attentively. He seems like a nice fellow But since his upbringing it looks like he is going to have trouble trusting anyone. He may have become accustomed to being alone because it's what he's use to and doesn't feel like he deserves anyone. Is it wrong that I just want to give the dude a hug? He's been through a rough patch.
