It's not about being vain. Life doesn't end at 40, but you don't have the same opportunities for happiness that you have at 30. Let's not forget that women do have a biological clock. For men it's different, they have more time to find a partner and have kids, but still they will have lived about half their life when they reach 40, their best years are just gone. I watched this episode and the guy did seem like a decent person...his story was pretty interesting in that he faced quite a few challenges to get where he is with his sexuality or whatever. The date guy came across as a bit of an idiot and the nice guy deserved a better partner than that i think.
