    I really like the initial look. Its a bummer that the eye makeup came undone so quickly. I think that an eye lid primer and a setting spray could definitely help the situation. As well as using a different mascara for the bottom lashes. But, he did a great job overall!

      Ct doesn’t do a primer or setting spray unfortunately so I do find a full face can be tricky at times to maintain looking fresh all day but as a ct employee unfortunately he wouldn’t be allowed to use other brands for primer/setting spray for professionalism

    this guy seems like he really knows how to do makeup on other people- just the application itself. wasn't awkward or fumbling or anything. and on another note- def. you should start tight-lining! its one this I actually have noticed on you sometimes you can see the white of your lid under your lashes. it def helps, especially when you wear black liquid liner

    • @SuperStarr817

      My lashes are slightly sparse looking, so tight lining is an essential in my normal routine to add some fullness.

      I used to tight-line every time I did my makeup but somehow my eyes HATE it and no matter what liner I use, my eyes will water or get angry and get styes (even if using a brand new one). Now I never tight-line and I don't mind it at all if people don't tight-line.

      He really doesn't know how to, he clearly doesn't know basic hygiene rules considering the sponge tip from multiple products were used straight on her face without decanting it onto a palette first. He also holds the brushes way too close to the bristles, he should be holding them towards the end (the blending was patchy). I don't think he was trained professionally.

As someone who still suffers from acne even after 2 rounds of acutane, I have to tell you how amazing your skin is looking these days. The lighter coverage foundation looked so good on you! Idk about that palette he used, but in her quads, they have an "all over shade" and that has a primed mixed into the shade. Also, they now have the best setting spray ever. I'm on my 2nd bottle, and I have, no joke, approx 30 setting sprays, so I don't use one up very often. So go say I'm halfway done with my 2nd CT spray is a big deal.

    • @SpookyScaryMakeup
      @SpookyScaryMakeup 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      He wasn't hygienic at all! He used a sponge tip applicator right onto her face which is unable to be sanitised (he should of decanted product onto a palette) and he used his fingers on her face even, which is a big no no when professionally trained because of bacteria (even if clean hands it can still transmit). He clearly wasn't professionally trained (which he should be for basic hygiene knowledge).

    • @sparkybish
      @sparkybish 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Lauryn Garcia Where do you get your information on sanitation and using fingers on the face? I’ve seen many trained makeup artists use their fingers on a client’s face. Also, proper hand washing technique can prevent the spread of diseases like typhoid and diphtheria. I’m doubtful brushes can be cleaned better. Imagine you had densely packed hair, like a brush, all over your hands. Do you think your hands would be easier to sanitize that way?

    • @SpookyScaryMakeup
      @SpookyScaryMakeup 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MissMargaret your hands will always have bacteria, it’s skin. Brushes can absolutely be cleaned, sanitised then disinfected to carry no germs or bacteria. My information comes from the fact I’m in a professsional specialist SFPX makeup artist diploma course, which is the highest recognised level worldwide. The first unit we do is based around work health safety and hygiene. So yes, brushes are required to use over brushes, you don’t know the skin conditions the clients you touch have (you can ask but they may not tell you), so it’s common sense to keep both your health safe as well as the possibility of spreading their (or your) bacteria.

    • @SpookyScaryMakeup
      @SpookyScaryMakeup 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MissMargaret and keep in mind, trained can simply mean doing a two week course (so the muas you saw might not be professional, just trained) to get qualified in makeup, I’m talking from a professional course that qualifies me to be able to confidently say all this.

    If you're looking for a chocolatey brow pomade, I use and recommend the E.L.F Lock On Liner and Brow Cream in Espresso (it's $3 and lasts all day. I usually use a angled eyebrow & spoolie brush for the application). Interesting tip for mascara application, I feel like it is easy to get some on the lids! This mascara gave a crazy volume to your lashes wow. I totally get wanting to use an eye primer. I have oily lids and without it, it creases and smear all over the place. I agree, 100%. The sponge-topped products should have been decanted onto a sanitized palette, & any sponge used on clients should be gifted or tossed. I'm not sure about WA, but it's prohibited to reuse sponges on clients in most states. B/c the applicator is porous & isn't removable, even if he removed the surface product, & followed protocol (soaking the applicator in 70% iso alcohol & letting it air dry), it still wouldn't be properly sanitized.

Matching colors isn’t rocket science, you don’t have to be “qualified”. Makeup washes off. We were also taught hygiene correctly there, but that’s just me.

      Britt Conester I think her point was mainly the lack of training Ulta provided especially as it relates to hygiene, which is the most important part. I agree colors and matching isn’t serious but the health of your clients is

      They actually use cinema secret makeup sanitizer on the sponge applicators and other products. I highly doubt any employee knowing they were being recorded would use a product that couldn't be sanitized js

    • @omgxwtfxily
      @omgxwtfxily 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Taran Gamble You can’t sanitize the sponge tho. It’s not sanitary even if they use some cleaner if the product cannot be fully cleaned. Bacteria is going into the product tube. You can’t clean that.

      Tammy D same! It’s the only way I do eyeliner. Tight line usually with a dark brown or plum color. If I’m going for a darker eye, I use black. Sometimes I smudge it out which I love. Mine always transfers to my lower waterline, though. Any tips or good ones to try? I’ve tried so many eyeliners.

      Christy Strohkirch I use the Urban Decay 24/7 or Cargo Swimmables. The Cargo ones are a little better in my opinion but I like that I can get several different shades of browns and purples in the UD. I try not to blink for the first 30 seconds or so. If it does transfer, I just wipe it off or go over it with a nude liner. #HoodedEyeProblems 😂. I love to smoke it out too but I’m usually too pressed for time to get that fancy. 😂

      Tammy D the UD doesn’t work for me. Maybe I’ll try the cargo. I have a drawer full of them and keep buying more hoping I’ll find one that really works and doesn’t irritate my eyes either. 😂

    This guy had the best technique so far imo. Such a light touch, knew how to layer products-- kudos to him 👏🙌 loved this look. (With an eye primer I find that my CT shadows hold up longer BUT I still feel like I need to touch them up after a few hours. Love the formula though!)

    • @recordtapesbackward
      @recordtapesbackward 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      but you could easily ask them to not use sponge tip applicators on your skin (instead decanting them onto a clean palette) - potentially not every charlotte tilbury makeup artist does work this unsanitarily anyway. :)

    Other than the glow, I wasn't that impressed. The foundation was either too dark too start with, or it oxidized. In your update portion, it was much darker and look very "makeup-y". And perhaps it was the lighting, but when he did your eyes, even though he added some shimmer, you couldn't really see it. All you could see was the orange base. And yes, he needed some sort of primer or base, because in the update it looked like you'd been out in some heat and were sweating it all off. I've never tried CT, and after this I think it'll stay that way. The glow was nice, but I think a lot of that was his technique and could be recreated with some nice highlighters. I think he was good, but I'm just not so sure of the products.

  • @anastasiyawiesmueller2059
    @anastasiyawiesmueller2059 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You looked SO pretty after the makeover! You should try to recreate it. I'm sure that you could make it all work and last longer since you know your skin type best, but the look the MUA created was just so flattering
