Exactly what I was thinking! I actually buy expensive alternatives for things I use everyday and cheap alternatives for products I don’t use everyday. For example, foundation and a good nude lipstick I use everyday so want a good quality one. But things like a bright red lipstick I’ll buy a drugstore one because I know I’m not even going to use it often.

Just so you know CT has many undisclosed sponsorships going with influencers - I found this out about a month ago - disappointing. Not pointing a finger at Soph here BTW but I've personally used the products and was extremely nonplussed. I am as spoiled as anybody and am happy to fork over cash for something that is truly marvelous, but what CT makes is very poor quality in my experience. The packaging is pretty, and that's about all.

Did you want a recommendation for something? My favorite lipsticks are NARS audacious, my favorite powder eyeshadows are #1 NARS (again), and then #2 MAC and #3 Anastasia Beverly Hills - but all are great formulas. If you are interested in cream eyeshadow, the "stick" versions by Bobbi Brown and Lâncome are both lovely and have amazing staying power. Great base products I love are from MAC (theirs are the best concealers bar-none, & my favorite one of theirs at the moment is the Studio Fix 24 hour smooth-wear), Laura Mercier - her translucent powder is truly worth its price for me, and lately I've been loving the YSL touche eclat line of products. Anything else you'd like to know I'd be happy to make a recommendation :) my testing out of products has taken me years because these things are costly, but I also find that my favorite products last and last, as you won't need a boatload of them to get them to work, and they are generally quite reasonably sized
Rachel just because you've seen influencers giving good reviews for products you ended up disliking doesn't automatically mean there were undisclosed sponsorships going on. It just means that you didn't like something that others did. Most of Charlotte's products that I've tried (eyeshadow, powder, primers, blush, liquid contour, liquid highlighter, color corrector and lipliner) have been excellent. The only thing I've encountered that I disliked was the Magic foundation. Preferences differ.

Some youtubers who earn a lot of money don’t think that £70 on a moisturiser is a lot, whereas Soph does, and it’s great. She’s normal, she buys drugstore makeup, she’s like the rest of us. Love her xx

Just because I'm an artist for Charlotte and know a little bit about the airbrush foundation, it's actually not oxidizing it's optimizing. Oxidizing happens over a period of time when air hits the foundation, but with this one there are actually ingredients evaporating and it's adjusting to your skins warmth which was the color change that you saw. It settles into it's shade after 3-5 minutes and then stays that same shade for the day!!! Just thought I'd give a bit of info especially if anyone is planning on getting the foundation so you know how to match yourself!

it’s not usually so much that they expire but it’s about bacteria usually especially with cream products. imo you can sterilise the surface occasionally but as long as the product still works it’s fine:))

This is what happens when you use luxury makeup. You don't want to love it because it's so expensive but it's sooooo good. But you should try Pat McGrath! I wasn't a fan of her foundation but her shadows, highlighter trio, gloss and lipstick are my holy grails

Your makeup looks amazing, have never seen your make up look so good by using Charlotte Tilbury, but for 21minutes all you did was moan about the price? You said you were gifted almost a full face of makeup and the large Charlottes cream. Very ungrateful 🙁 Yes you pay for the quality, I have had severe sepsis shock for 2 years now after a hip replacement but infection was so bad it pulled my cemented hip from pelvis. I am left with no left hip, no muscles or tissue as sepsis is still destroying leg with femur bone moving & poking through skin. Some people can buy as much as they like, but those of us on ESA and unable to work again I have been saving money as to make a start on Charlotte Tilbury makeup. Looking forward to a makeover if you have a senior artist it costs £70.00 but if you purchase products used and spend over £70 NO charge for makeover. Some of us are grateful !!

I changed my way of thinking from quantity to quality when it comes to makeup, and I have not regretted it. Firstly it cut my makeup routine in half because the products are simply better to work with, and the products last forever (both on your face and they don't run out fast)

charlotte tilbury, huda beauty, pat mcgrath, surratt and kevyn aucoin are luxe brands which actually have amazing quality products that are innovative and exciting. charlotte tilbury, huda beauty and pat mcgrath more than any other brands tbh. i think a big part of it is that they're women of a certain age who have had a life long passion for makeup and beauty from an artistry perspective so they kindof know what excited makeup lovers and what we really want.

The powder does come in mini compact size. I actually love getting that one because it fits in all of my purses. Plus they come as a package thing, with the magic thingy that gives your skin a natural glow. I LOVE the powder & powder. My pores disappear, & I have fairly visible pores. So I love using these product. They are expensive, but very worth it. The lipsticks are also worth it. I get the mini package, which includes 5 beautiful shades.
This is the first time I've seen anyone use all the Charlotte Tilbury products but I do have to say that you look absolutely gorgeous. Your skin is glowing and you look so healthy. The eyeshadows are just simply stunning. I think now I will invest in some CT products. Thankyou so much for doing this review xx

charlotte tilbury, huda beauty, pat mcgrath, surratt and kevyn aucoin are luxe brands which actually have amazing quality products that are innovative and exciting. charlotte tilbury, huda beauty and pat mcgrath more than any other brands tbh. i think a big part of it is that they're women of a certain age who have had a life long passion for makeup and beauty from an artistry perspective so they kindof know what excited makeup lovers and what we really want.
Interesting, I would never buy Huda beuty. It looks cheap to me and has bad reviews.

The powder does come in mini compact size. I actually love getting that one because it fits in all of my purses. Plus they come as a package thing, with the magic thingy that gives your skin a natural glow. I LOVE the powder & powder. My pores disappear, & I have fairly visible pores. So I love using these product. They are expensive, but very worth it. The lipsticks are also worth it. I get the mini package, which includes 5 beautiful shades.
Love this look, I'm obsessed with gold toned eyeshadow at the mo. You should try to recreate this look with drug store brands
