In this tutorial, I will be showing you three possible ways to fix this Grub error in Windows 10 or Ubuntu dual boot during startup, it says “error: no such partition. Entering rescue mode…Grub rescue”.
The primary reason for this error is that your grub boot loader configuration has been tampered with, either corrupted, misconfigured or deleted. Maybe you have forcefully deleted your Ubuntu or some other Linux system files from a dual boot PC, or you extended certain disk partition into the partition with your Grub boot loader.

Bootrec /scanos resulted in 0 windows installation, how do I proceed further.
Before I entered into the command prompt it showed windows7 is in drive D. But when it scanned in cmd prompt it says 0. Pls help.

But i encountered solution that if anyone formats and deletes ubuntu drive from windows system and if above commands dont work for them then all they have to do is boot system with ubuntu bootable usb and after login they need to run boot repair. @@f0cai_395 yep... Thaz exactly what worked for me... I spent almost 15 mins searching through all my partitions on my drive... No MS-DOS partition at all.... Finally I set the boot order to boot to the windows boot manager first before anything else... And finally it worked...

I think I found a way to solve this permanently. After the first step, log into Ubuntu and run the below commands
Sudo update-grub
Then
Sudo grub-install /dev/sda

When I write "set" I get the same result as you: cmd path, prefix etc. Then I write set boot, set prefix. When I do "insmod normal" I get "no such partition" even tho I write it exactly as it shows up on my pc (hd0,msdos5)/boot/grub. Any idea why this happens?
@Team_SoloYT sorry to say but I talked with some different people who work on computer service centers and they told me the same thing: You cannot start windows normally and keep the files now that you've deleted the partitions. You have to erase it and install windows from the beginning. So that's what I did :/

I got the same issue as my partition is hidden, I followed the steps (using "set" i found the location of the partition) but got struck on "insmod normal" error message -> "no such partition". In the second method when I did bootrec /buildbcd and pressed A, it said partition not found.
I created a new volume x as shown in some other video for removing ubuntu and it messed up. Let me know if you can help me

I started from 3:41 like suggestions and it works and after typing normal I see the options to boot into my operating systems. However when I boot into ubuntu and then reboot I get the grub rescue menu again??!!

@@syedsuhail9266 So you need to make a bootable usb with Win10. (works for any windows) then launch command prompt and fix mbr as shown in the video (2nd method). Then, download easy bcd and remove the linux entry. Download registry cleanup and fix the registry.

I installed Mint on another USB using the installation USB. When the USB is plugged in, a 3-line menu appears at startup and I can open Windows from that menu. I deleted Ubuntu's partition via Windows 7. The problem is when it boots up, my laptop always boots in Linux. Idk why there was no boot option where you can choose to boot with Windows or with Ubuntu. But the bigger problem is I do not have a working CD/DVD drive and a USB drive (I mean I have them but they are physically broken). Hence, I cannot use the bootrec method to which I think might work in this problem. RIP old laptop or is there another work around this?
