I'm leaning towards a cattle panel hoop structure instead of poles. We've used cattle panel hoop houses for critter houses and they've handled 80mph straight-line winds plus the usual 40mph winds/gusts coming from all directions at all times. The extra support that 4' spaced poles seems to make a difference.
Need more video on the application of the "Wiggle Wire"!! I couldn't tell what was happening from the video. Not terribly familiar with wiggle wire... what's its original use?
Yep! Cedar, Cyprus, Teak and Redwood have similar properties that naturally resist infestation by bugs, including termites (which probably make it OK to put the wood in direct contact with the soil, usually a no-no). Also refuses to rot, mold, mildew etc. Mother Nature is a wonderful thing! 😊 That said, teak is not the best in sun, as it kind of dries out and falls apart at the seams, as it were. (Witness the beautiful teakwood patio furniture sold at my favorite now-defunct two-name "outdoor living" store... it was known to fall apart if not treated for sun exposure. Who wants to do maintenence on a hoop house? Not Me!)
Nice build but you didn't elaborate very much on the wiggle wire and that tract that you were placing it into. I get the wire but the tract , where did that come from?
The poles are from Home Depot. And you attach the c channels on the front and back hoops, pull the plastic over the channels and snap the wiggle wire into the channels and it holds the plastic in place. I wish I had better footage of the wiggle wire.
New to your channel! I really like your tunnel / greenhouse! I need a high tunnel to grow just tomatoes. Where I would put it that is the big question? I need a bigger farm. Have a blessed day! Wendy🙏🏻🇺🇸
Probably if you keep one side of the poles poles unbent. I'm not good enough at math to be able to figure out where the arch would be bent but you could probably dig it out.
Hi there, sorry for taking so long to see this. This was a few years ago for us, so prices have changed dramatically. But depending on size I would say you could build a pretty large one for a few hundred dollars. The bender and plastic is a big expense. But once you have a bender you can scale up the size for not too much more.
I am not even sure for this one. It was a few years ago at this point so it is probably not even comparable sadly ahah But the pole bender was the biggest investment, followed by the plastic. And then the poles are 10-20 I believe depending on what you want to do. But this is what I would recommended if you are trying to build the least expensive greenhouse possible.
On a walk to the shops, had noticed more people then I knew had been growing their own food in one way or another. Had taken a short look years ago. Now the possibility of this becoming a reality, I am on the hunt for you guessed it Green house videos, will start on the design phase, giving the beds and composting time to rot (plenty to do).
Evan, you continue to amaze me! Always great ideas and tutorials from you!
I've never heard of wiggle wire, interesting!
Hi Evan! A hoop greenhouse that is simple and cheap to build. Anyone could make one, I would think. Great job guys!
Thank you!
Love how you describe learning from the past experiences. I am learning about the bugs now. 😁
Haha I can’t imagine the bugs where you’re at!
Nice walk through video; thanks for pointing out the different approaches used by you and your brother. Blessings
This looks like a great simple build! Now I just need to find a flat and sunny spot to put one!
I hope you guys build one one day!
I live in a very windy area, at high altitude so the wind is ferocious sometimes. You think this concept could handle it?
That is tough, I’m not sure. This one made it through some storms with really high winds, but idk how it would hold up where you’re at.
@@TheNorthBranchWI Thx you man

i love this greenhouse! i know i can do this! thank you for sharing 😊
You can do it!
Nice build as always!
Thank you!
Wonderful thank you 🙏🙏🙏 my dear friend 😊 jocina 😺
Really helpful. Thank you
good video
how long were the poles did you use ? thx u
I live in a very windy area in the mountains. Do you get strong winds there?
How long were the hoops?

Is the galvanized top rail the poles you used? Looking at your parts list I didn't see them
How did metal poles connect at the top?
Great vid!
Was the cedar what you had available or was it because of its fungal properties?cheerz from NNY
We got those boards from the hardware store. And it’s either cedar or pressure treated for the foundation.

Don’t understand where you got the metal pipes from and don’t understand how the wiggle wire goes into the pipes ?

Gotta buy the channel and screw onto the pipe for the wiggle wires.
Is there another of your videos that explains or shows the bug problem you mention? What kind of bugs?
Did you use the log cuts for insulation?

Nice to meet you, Wendy:) Thanks for stopping by! And I would suggest just inheriting land like me for more space 😆
@@TheNorthBranchWI We have ten acres but we seriously need more. You are blessed.I hope you have a great week!
Is it possible to build this hoop house on a slope?

Figure it out* not dig.
Although some digging might have to be done, idk.
What size bender did he purchase from bootstrap farmer?
12 foot I believe, I will check later and let you know if I was wrong
@@TheNorthBranchWI thanks! I need to make a tunnel for my chickens and this looks about right.
*꧁ Maravilloso. ☺ Gracias por compartir. 💙 👍 ꧂*
Electric outlet plugin on the door...🤔. Why? Very cool vid. Like your other tutorials too! I'm building one out of a trampoline currently!
It was the handle for awhile haha and thank you! That sounds awesome, good luck with that!
Approximately how much did it cost ?

How much did you spend for everything? Nice build by the way. This style is what I'm trying to start my greenhouse with.
