Hiya, in this vid you said it was easy to handle the rodent problem. Do you have a vid how you did it or can you tell me how? I got mice and squirrels popping into my green house and eating my greens. Usually, the mice would burrow under the greenhouse and sometimes those squirrels would use those tunnels.
@@wumao6797 You need the right traps and a cat. It’s the combo of both the does the trick. We don’t even have a cat but our neighbors barn cat makes its way over every winter when the rodent population is high.
I hope millions see this video and understand how much work goes into growing the food we eat. Farmers will never get enough recognition for the hard work we put in daily! Appreciate you and this video!
8:45 such a relatable moment to me. I do consults for people occasionally that are trying to set up gardens and people always look at me sideways when i grab a handful of their soil and sniff it lol. When we have company stop over my husband says 'don't go out into the compost yard to find her or you'll be stuck sniffing and admiring her dirt for next 4 hours lol'.

Being able to grow food all year round is a game changer. We live in growzone 10b so that’s what we do. It enables us to grow enough food for 5 people on a 4k square feet raised bed garden and a 3.3k square feet forest garden. The forest garden are planted with trees that ripen at different times during the year, so that we have fresh fruit all year round. I have 16 raised beds, but because I can grow all year, it’s like having double that. Congratulations on your new high tunnel.

I can not get over how fantastic this video is. We installed a big greenhouse for my Mum, it was her lifelong dream. However, it is tiny compared to yours😂. And installing wasn't as harmonious as what I can see from your footage (it was pure frustration 😂) Showing there are always better ways, even if the challenge is bigger, yours was huge, like the tunnel. Your children are already handier than me 😂 beautiful family❤

I have been following your family for a year or so now I think and it is awesome with what you guys are doing!!! Love the green house as well. The only thing I can say is, get Cam a nice set of Dewalt Cordless tools!!! I am a big fan of the DCF887 Impact driver since it has a 3 power switch that you can drill, drive, and full out impact with I have 2 of them and its predicessor DCF886 with only the impact setting! I really also really like my DCD996 hammer drill (a drill with a hammer option), but either way, I enjoy seeing the growth with your garden! Since watching yall, I wanted to get into gardening and did my 1st 4x8 garden this spring and we got a decent yield of tomato's, maybe 20 across 2 plants, a hand full of cucumbers, but a bunch of jalapenos and banana peppers, 3 bell peppers, and a few hand full of habaneros. I was too lax with the tomatos and cucumbers and they invaded and took over all most the whole raised bed. I ended up putting some of the peppers in felt bags like what the couple over at "Pepper Geeks" did. this weekend we are suppose to get into the low 40's so this will be the last week to pick thing I think. We also purchased some strawberry plants from Lowes and got a yield of maybe a dozen this summer! I have had some luck with starting strawberries from the top cut-offs when prepping them for snacks for my daughters! I thrown them in some potting mix similar to your concoction and put them on a heat pad and cover! 1-2 weeks later I have sprouts!!! I am hoping to make a vertical wall mounted strawberry patch for the winter to grow them so that maybe either late winter or early spring we might be able to harvest some strawberries from inside!!!

I have been binging on your channel to get caught up to the present. You and your family are such hard workers! I can appreciate the humor y’all still carry through working. A freeze dryer is on my wishlist!🤞🏻 I had already guessed that you would get a larger one. Use the small one for your herbs and the big one for larger freeze drying.
You should install some area near the ceiling for the chicken to hang out. The highest place is the warmest place as heat rises. It would also help the chicken survive if some predator animal made it inside the tent, but cannot climb or fly to go after the chicken. All it takes is some long wood planks across the tent installed next to one another until you got a ceiling floor, for the chicken. And you got a nice work crew there, by the way:)
