    I highly recommend to wrap exhaust pipes with thin layer of ceramic blankets and on top of it use thermo wrap clothes. Use tungsten cables to terminate the areas insulated. That will work. What you did will help a bit, but not as much as I advise.

    Ways to reduce the heat from panigale..
    1) remove the charcoal canister
    2) use the Ducati comfort seat
    3) use carbon fibre subframe covers...
    4) finally, apply heat absorbing yellow tape under the comfortseat and on the carbon fibre sub frame covers ..
    Hope that helps...

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      what is the charcoal canister?

    • @SuperMeesh20
      @SuperMeesh20 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jaret Campisi it is an emissions piece and is known to be the main cause of hard starts..
      It creates more problems being in the bike.. many panigale owners, who removed the canister have noted better heat management ..
      Just be careful if u r removing that, as few panigale 959 owners have complained that their check engine light switches on ..

    For future reference: If you cool the engine down, every other part of the bike will cool down as well. Start with the engine.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      DirtySouthTV we did work on bringing down the engine temp. That will be coming in part 2 👍

  • @XPsychowaffleX
    @XPsychowaffleX 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can definitely keep the bike cooler as well by having the ecu flashed and adding a custom custom setting for the radiator. Most have the bike kick on around 200 and it keeps the temp around round 180ish. But you can have it kick on earlier and it helps keep the bike cooler.

  • @brandonpennings221
    @brandonpennings221 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you get a home ECU flash kit you can customize the running temp of the bike. You can modify it to run cooler, i wouldn't cool it way down but I do know a lot of guys do it. Jake the garden snake did it to his FZ

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We will actually be taking the bike to a local tune shop to get the ECU flashed after we do the exhaust and hi flo filter so we will chat with them about reducing engine temperature as well :)

    run Evans High Proformance Waterless Coolant it works. I used it on my 2015 Can Am Commander 800 and they are know for having heat issues since i switched to Evans no more heat issues. And Jay Leno runs it in all of his bikes cars.

      yeah i've heard someone else mention this as well...if we still have engine heat issues after this maybe we'll give that a shot

    Did you guys think about maybe putting some Titanium exhaust shield tape header heat wrap pipe insulation around that one section of pipe underneath the actual heat shield cover? along with the heat shield stuff you put on. Just curious. My friends dad put some on his Custom Harley pipes.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol we actually did think about that but we like the look of the pipe under the seat and we think all of the other heat shielding should be enough to keep it much cooler while riding :)

  • @spoonman73
    @spoonman73 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    A few suggestions to reduce heat: Upgrade to a better coolant, reflash the ecu to enable the fans to come on sooner and run a thinner oil in the motor. After much experimentation and research I have gone from using 10w or 15w40 motorcycle oil to Mobil 1 5w30 synth car oil. Bike runs cooler and revs faster with no clutch slippage. I also change it more often as it is cheaper and widely available (Wally World).

    I'm very interested to see if all the heat shielding will work. I have a 899 panigale and it gets extremely hot. My friend that rode it got 1st and 2nd degree burns on his right inner thigh due to the vertical exhaust. Staying tuned for part 2!

    • @JaretCampisi

    Awesome video again you know you could have treated all of the heat issues just by giving it a full system exhaust but I know it's expensive im getting the austin racing for my panigale it helps with heat issues cause it's a more free flowing exhaust but still awesome what you and Dato. Are doing and tell Dato he's a badass for me lol.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah we wanted to do a full system exhaust but having a custom titanium one built was out of scope for this project. I'm hoping these changes will do the trick and we will be pushing a lot more air by removing the stock mufflers and adding a high flow air filter so it should be running great after all this is complete :)

      Shift Tech makes a carbon fiber cover for those red hot cylinder heads that is supposed to cut down the heat but yours will probably work better. 👍

      Chris Bramblett Yup, you are definitely not the only one! My Ducati was over 220 at stoplights Saturday...but it was 105° out here! 210+ is not unusual for mine.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it will for sure work better and it was much cheaper than the few hundred dollar a piece carbon fiber pieces :)

    • @AbsurdG3nius
      @AbsurdG3nius 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Added heat shielding to my race seat and have noticed a definite difference in city traffic. Haven't gone the extra mile and shielded the sub-frame, though, but I wear riding jeans or leathers most of the time so the heat on my legs is pretty minimal anyway. Regardless, it's badass to see the extreme attention to detail you guys are paying to these upgrades. The winner's gonna be stoked.

  • @majorarkwolf
    @majorarkwolf 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Jaret
    Just wondering if you guys have considered that by adding all that heat shielding you have created a bit of an oven for your engine. When you get your next lot of temps of course your plastic temps will read lower but make sure to double check all engine running components as it will now be harder for your bike to disapate the heat that would of vented out through the plastics.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      We will definitely be monitoring the engine temp and other engine components. However, these engines are water cooled not air cooled. And the bikes are made to flow air so we will be simply collecting the warm air within those areas and then allowing it to flow out of the bike as you ride.

    • @JaretCampisi

      We actually won't be replacing those two pipes as doing them in custom titanium was just too much for the scope of this particular build. If we get enough support for future builds we will absolutely be doing full system titanium custom exhaust builds though :)

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the engine is water cooled NOT air cooled so it should be fine. Also, this heat shielding is just funneling heat away from the rider not just keeping it in the bike. It should follow the natural air flow of the bike which is to funnel the air through the engine and out the rear :)

    • @eagle1333
      @eagle1333 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Water cooled is the major reason the engine runs so HOT! Getting rid of the water and yes even distilled water is the only answer to heat reduction.....!

    And each and every one of you guys are just awesome. Specially Dado. I like his attitude man. He always reminds me of some funny character I used to watch in my childhood. He is just amazing.
    I really appreciate the efforts that all of you have put together in this Ducati series. Just saw this heat issue episode and I have a question for Dado...
    I own a 2017 KTM Duke 390. Is it possible to apply same technique of heat remedy that you did with Panigale? If not, then can you suggest something to resolve heat issue with the Duke.
    Thanks and keep up the amazing work guys!!

    Yikes - that's a lot of effort, and a lot of potential for error. Thanks for making the video, coz i aint never doin' any of that - except, I will buy the Ducati Comfort Seat.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha yeah I wouldn't even do this to my own bike. The comfort seat however does actually help quite a bit so that's an easy quick fix to do :)

      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks glad you enjoyed it...I had some issues with peaking parts so I had to reduce the overall volume so it wouldn't distort. Figured it was better to have people turn it up than have distortion :)

    I think that a something you should think about is to have the fan come on Sooner. It will help keep the bike cooler. Maybe check out a Ecu flash so that it make it easier to cool the bike. J, you guys a good fucking dudes and it is nice to see that. Dado is a fucking animal and he bully's you!

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      we will be getting the ECU flashed so i'll definitely mention that to the guys who do the tune. Thanks!

    • @GsxrRacefit
      @GsxrRacefit 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not a big fan of motovlogs because they are all the same but I have to give you credit. You have out a different spin on it. I love riding and also love working out so it is good to see that there are others out there who have the same passions. Keep up the good work bro. I think you should do an episode when you get it tuned and flashed. When you get it flashed, it will help with the hot temperature also. My Gsxr was running hot all the time after getting the full racefit exhaust but now with the flash done, it run so much cooler. Make sure you get the right people to do it. There are so many things that you can do with the flash. One of my favorite thing to do was to get rid of some of the engine braking. Best investment I have mad by far. I'm in Arlington Va, ever riding down this way shoot me a holla!

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      16' Gsxr1000 Racefit right on man really appreciate that. I pride myself in being different as I don't like to just make the same content as everyone else. And yes I do think an ECU flash is one of the best things you can do for a sport bike. We will have a custom map done once we finish with the bike and I can't wait to see the result.

  • @JK-tu1xx
    @JK-tu1xx 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay wait, wouldn't your new exhaust that you're supposed to be adding increase the air flow thus reducing the heat buildup in the header pipe under the seat by allowing less backpressure in the pipe? So this is going to marginally increase cooling and just add unnecessary weight to the bike? The heat shielding you're using looks like it was made out of a polycarbonate base too not the gold foil that actually works to dissipate heat.. The poly stuff just absorbs the heat and holds it like an insulator.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The exhaust that we add will help flow more air along with the high flow air filter which will also help with cooling the bike for sure. And this heat shielding was very expensive and high quality so it will for sure help funnel the heat away from the rider and out the back of the bike.

  • @LegendaryValky

    Wouldn't lowering the temperature of the actual engine lower it's lifespan? If it's deviating from it's operating temperature I can't imagine that being good for the bike.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lowering the engine temperature would actually improve engine lifespan. The cooler you can keep things in general the better :)

    • @LegendaryValky
      @LegendaryValky 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That may not necessarily be true. The engine was designed with that temperature in mind for proper running, expansion on the internal parts, oil flow, and all that is calculated to be within the engineer's design. I think everything you guys did was great except for the coolant stuff. Thank you for your reply and time you guys have been putting in.
