I wouldn't call it grounded since his material skews completely to one side of the culture war. He does a great job calling out right-wing lunacy, but he gives the liberal elite a pass because he personally hangs out with them in high society gatherings. For instance, don't expect him to talk about the new revelation that Dr. Fauci knew since the beginning of 2020 that covid most likely originated from a lab; yet he chose to dismiss that theory as a conspiracy for almost 2 years. I'd say that's worth mentioning, but this show has an established narrative that Fauci is a hero, and no amount of evidence to the contrary will make them switch course (short of a sexual harassment scandal à la Cuomo).

It would be just a little weird if you somehow thought about a segment of Stephen reading the ingredients of a can of sausage from the 1970's before he ever did the bit.
I watched Stephen shaking that 35 year can of sausage with increasing nervousness that it was going to explode on live television - which would have been a) hilarious; and b) the beginning of a whole new pandemic.
I noticed the store shortages. Getting ANY kind of boneless pork has been very difficult this week. I too am making Bolognese, but my husband and I prefer pork over beef.

I have immune system issues that make me high risk for covid complications & death & same for the vaccine. I would have loved if I could have been protected by other people being vaccinated % the virus going away, but it's been blatantly obvious for the majority of the pandemic now that that's not viable, so exactly what do you expect here? That people will continue not living their lives just to protect you for the rest of your life? There has to be a limit to how long this can continue for! They've kept us safe for long enough to find vaccines & treatments, that's more than we can expect of society!
Ooooh God I needed this I’m in tears over here 😂 that gawdam can of sausages did it for me..lol In all seriousness thanks to these folks Stephen and the whole team this was soooo needed!!!
It's to be expected... an infectious disease with an R-naught (infection rate) value of 2 it's hard to wrangle and Covid *_was_* 1.8 until Omicron came along with a value 4+. Even malicious rumors don't spread that fast.
I read the R naught for omicron is between 3 and 8. 5 is the average. That is extremely scary. And yeah, my vaccinated, isolated masked up ass got it over the holidays.
@@Wednesdaywoe1975 I believe you to be correct and not the OP... I thought I read they were estimating Delta had a factor of 5 to 6, and Omicron is supposed to be more contagious than Delta, which is how it overtook Delta as the cause of currently 95% of all Covid infections of today. Also it would appear that having gotten Delta previously three or four months ago, doesn't necessarily mean you cannot or will not contract the Omicron variant today. So it would seem herd immunity may be a myth if Covid continues to mutate significantly every few months. If you look at the overall Covid infection graph of cases since March of 2020, it seems every 3 to 6 months since it began there has been a new surge of a new significant variant, and neither "herd immunity," nor having access to numerous vaccines seems to have affected this continuing trend. That being said, I believe the vaccines have at least contributed to the death rate going down or staying similar, despite the number of cases increasing dramatically lately.
@@josephiudice8287 You're right: I'm wrong. In my area the Delta variant wasn't an issue so I stopped paying attention to R0 values even before the Delta variant. I've always known that 2 or more is hard to deal with and the first mention I heard of Omicron the report from our chief medical officer said that it looks like more than 4 people on average are being infected from Omicron positive cases. I did some "googling" to set myself straight - now I'm scared thanks :( The good news is that we have a 0.5 people per thousand (2 out of 4000 cases) who have died from Covid in my area while the world average is about 18 per thousand. As a matter of fact, they both died just two days ago. A couple of Long Term Care homes have breakouts.

After my husband called-in sick, he also filed for sickleave and told their boss he's positive.
@@liletskyr2998 The vaccinations were never touted as a cure. They are just supposed to keep the vaccinated from getting so ill that hospitalization is required. Vaccinated people can still contract Covid-19, and can spread it. Thus masks, gloves, handwashing, and isolation if positive. Even people in the middle ages practiced social distancing, isolating, and masks. Wearing gloves was also common, and even carried over to become a social norm. My mom died on a ventilator. That is not the way you want to die.
It’s interesting because I’m in Mexico and there are no supply chain issues here. The stores are fully stocked. People are also very diligent in wearing masks. Get your Vax and booster and you will be all good 👍
Well, in Mexico hardly anyone can even get a booster yet. And if they can, most are getting the Chinese one, so they ought to be masking more than in the states. Throw in the treatment options (or lack thereof) in Mexican hospitals and it's very essential to take care of yourself as best you can.
I mean, there are less antivaxxers in México, yes. But we do not have boosters for all population yet. Heck, there hasn't been government approval vaccination for minors, so no vaccines for 5-17 years old either. And there has been supply chain issues in several industries which have either suspended production several times in the last 2 years, but in general food and basics are relatively available. Maybe import goods had a draught in 2020 but were finally restocked in 2021. Sadly misinformation, work policies, economy issues and not the best supervised health policies are what have been taking a toll on our country and have caused the virus to continue spreading.

The way things are going, curious about your underlying logic for the idea that the "pandemic mess" is, indeed, ever going to be "over". We seem to be doing everything in our power to make sure it never is. #TRIPSwaiver now!
He'll get one, he's a puppet.

Cleaner ingredients than we’d see today. That’s what struck me.

They're relying on the vaccines. Get boosted, and if they offer a fourth, take it. The statistics are very promising, though I sympathise with your concern.

@@Wednesdaywoe1975 SAME!!! Woke up day after Christmas with another present 🤒
@Kulture City
