I was looking at ordering online and I'm wondering how will I know if I'm getting the newer dive case for it?
Does the camera fit in the case with the sticky lens guards on? If it does fit, does it affect the image in any way?
No, you have to take the guards off. It shows it in the instructional video they just released.

I think its a pretty crappy move on the part of Insta to release a direct replacement for the old case, addressing flaws which should not have even been present in the old case, whilst offering no kind of trade-in incentive for those of us stuck with the old one.
Waste of money, waste of plastic, and just kinda shows contempt for consumers.

It might "hide the housing and selfie stick", but it sure makes one hell of an obvious distorted seam where the videos are stitched together!

I love my 360 camera, but I am upset after spending a small fortune on the 1-inch sensor version and discovering there is not a single underwater case option for it. Also the stick that came with the camera came unglued and almost caused the camera to fall from a great height ... so I ordered the premium 3m selfie stick and when it showed up it was defective. Sad but true, I have given Insta360 too much money for some big disappointments. But back to the beginning: I do love shooting in 360, the creative workflow is amazing.
There is a return period, come on. You spoiled it yourself, you paid.
Sorry my bad, I guess I once had hopes the whole consumer market place wasn't just a complete scam all the time. I paid indeed, and will likely continue to do so.

It captures it all, indeed, but the quality is really not there. Compared to my old DJI osmo actioncam, it is day and night. The DJI provides sharp, clear images where the x3 with the invisible dive case gives blurry footage like it is recording in 360p... almost unusable. I m definitely sticking with my DJI as main...
I can't believe it! I just received the old version last week - I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. And I'm going on a dive holiday tomorrow so no time to order the new version! 😞

I see a blury line and see double where the stitching is out of water.

Hi there, all of our selfie sticks, except for the Extended Edition Selfie Stick and the Power Selfie Stick, can be used under seawater 🐠
After using the selfie stick under seawater, please make sure to extend it fully, clean it thoroughly with fresh water, and allow it to dry completely before storing it away.

Hi there! As the unique optical design of the case aims to avoid refractive issues during underwater filming, the Invisible Dive Case is only recommended for underwater use. It is not advisable to use it for any activities above water ☺️
why use this case if camera is waterproof? i dont get it

Maybe brilliant work, but it's been done too late for a lot of us. This R&D should have been done for the first dive case, rather than duping people into buyjng two cases for one camera.

I have this and I'm sad to say that the stitching is not like in this video... and the image clarity well... not this.
Was this clip recorded with the 1 inch camera? Because it is difficult to believe it was with the X3, really.
Color calibration is not like this in my shots... neither the stitching using the option for invisible dive case. :(

my record button does not work when i put the camera in diving mode. when i press the button, it just takes me to the custom selection screen.. any idea why its not work properly?

I purchased the insta360 X3 Dive Case from insta360 authorized dealer in Thailand(Vantage Marketing) 4 months ago, not knowing it’s a defective product(nadir)
now they have a new product that resolve previous model case issue. Can I change it to a new model ??

Un tempo con la gopro e il dome si riuscivano a fare delle foto fantastiche, ma non ho visto nulla del genere ancora su x360

Sorry for the confusion made before. The bare camera is recommended for underwater use for no more than 1 hour. With a diving case, it can be used underwater for longer periods, up to the point when the camera runs out of battery😋
