Great video, thank you for taking the time to produce it. I'm buying the x3 here soon to use on some shark/ray snorkeling excursions in the Caribbean during a cruise we are taking in late May. I see there are a number of 3rd party cases can you recommend any of them or at very least recommend which one to stay away from? Thanks.
Thanks was looking for how to change the buttons settings and finally found it in ur video, one question if I’m going deep what is the best solution, I find it unpractical to attach it to a flash light
Great! I'm happy my video helped answer the questions you were looking for. Yes, you are right in that I would not attach a flashlight underwater. The best option is to hold the flashlight in your free hand. Then you can direct the beam and it won't interfere with the Invisible Pole effect.
Where did you get your floating hand grip? Official page only had the one with tightening screw towards dive case unlike yours that you screw behind invisible stick
Great video and tips. I use a Go 3 to take shots of breaking waves. Can I do the same with the X4? The dive case is only necessary for getting in focus shots underwater - is that correct?
Thanks for the video¡¡ If you attach the floaty extra grip. If you are recording in 360 mode. Do you see the hand floaty attachtment right? Becausethe floaty grip is thicker than the insta pole. Do you record just in 180 degree when you use it? Thanks
Yes but I meant one button to power it on and start recording. Instead of hitting power button, waiting for it to power on, then hitting record. Then repeating the process to stop recording and power off.
A question for you man. What's the difference in effect if we used Active HDR vs Regular video in 5.7k 30FPS. They sound the same to me. I was thinking, you should keep your camera setting to 4k 60fps for dive case for any fast action you might wanna capture.. and in case in the water you change your mind and want higher quality, just go to active hdr by pressing power button. This way you can use both modes. Without touching the screen
That is a great idea, but I wouldn't recommend using Active HDR underwater. Active HDR is made for bright light and I haven't had very good results underwater (or in shady conditions) with it. You'll end up with some jittery effects. Great thought though!
@JordanHetrick thanks a lot man. I agree with you. I went in the water with HDR and 4k60FPS setting yesterday before I got your reply. Active HDR is not the best idea for underwater. Love your content and all the best
Coming back here after a while. What im noticing in your video as well as mine from x3 invisible dive case, is that the video is quite blurry. If i zoom in at the corals, the whole thing is really blur and dark. It looks like part of the screen on phone camera with a touch focus but on the places which are not in focus. This wasnt the case with my One X2. I could zoom in and the definition of the item used to be very clear
I see the handle, but I thought the one you used in the video had a threaded bottom, allowing a pole to be attached......I could be wrong....? Thank you
can you help me sir i have an x3 that is 1 month old. i used it in shalow water but i mulfunction after that. coming in a poor country and acquiring and mulfunction right away make me sad.
Tried that dive case on a real scuba dive and that thing flooded right away. no seal, very light construction, would not recommend the product if you do any serious diving. This thing will just break apart.
Hi Christophe, That is disappointing to hear. The rubber seal should keep any water out of there. The case is made out of very light construction, but it should be able to handle some depth. How deep were you when it leaked?
Which dive case were you using? Original Insta 360 X3 case or a 3rd party? Would love to know which 3rd party you used if not actual Insta 360 brand. Thanks.
The camera is waterproof and safe to take underwater. However, the stitch lines won't line up underwater and the images will be a bit blurred due to the curved lenses. So, if you are filming above the water, you don't need to worry, but when filming underwater, use the Dive Case.
this video just convinced me to get the Insta360 and dive case!!!!
same
Appreciate this clear tutorial. Thanks!
great video, very concise and easy to follow.
amazing shots from hawaii too, looking at doing the same of my mates getting barreled in mexico
great video, 1K likes now, heh,,, still not decided which one under the water, DJI Osmo Action 4 or this one Insta360 X3, thank you for infos
Thanks for the tips ❤
Awesome video! I live on the GBR so very helpful! 🪸🐚🫧
Thank you so much for all your advice! I appreciate your expertise
You are very welcome! Thank you for the comment 🙏🏼
Thanks for all the tips!
Great video, you are a huge help!
Thank you so much! All your videos are super informative! Can’t wait to try your tips on my upcoming trip ❤
Interesting shots, thanks for uploading.
You're welcome! Thanks for the comment!👍
Thank you, this was very informative.
How does the invisible selfie stick hold up after going into the salt water? Should it be washed off real good after?

Thank you very much. I recently returned from my brothers place who has a pool, wondered why my 360 was so poor under the water..
Glad I was able to help!!!

I look forward to taking it scuba diving. What do you recommend on how to attach a lanyard to the selfie stick?
Do we take the protective glass covers off?
Great video! Can you provide a link for where to get the fog strips for the X4?
Is there any difference about the generic dive case and the official one?
Thank you very much 👊🏼🎥👍🏼🐋🌊
Thank you very much
Top Video... Thanks.
Glad you liked it!! Thank you for the comment 🙏🏼
Great info! Do you tweak the exposure value at all. Like to a -0.5 or anything?
Great video and tips. I use a Go 3 to take shots of breaking waves. Can I do the same with the X4? The dive case is only necessary for getting in focus shots underwater - is that correct?
Thanks for information great
My pleasure! Thanks for checking it out!

Why isn't there a way to start and stop recording with one single button press, while in dive case mode? Or is there?
Once it’s in dive mode, the Q button acts as record and stop bottom with 1 click
Yes but I meant one button to power it on and start recording. Instead of hitting power button, waiting for it to power on, then hitting record. Then repeating the process to stop recording and power off.

I cannot start or end filming from the side handle, nor can I move to diving mode. Are there any settings before placing the camera inside the case?
How well does the selfie stick survive salt water?
Hello. I did everything on the video but still get the stitches visible. Any idea why that happens?
Do you have the "Dive case" or "invisible dive case"
Coming back here after a while. What im noticing in your video as well as mine from x3 invisible dive case, is that the video is quite blurry. good morning watching your videos
There is a Wrist Strap with the invisble stick of 114 cm ? Because for big dive, it could be usefull..
What setting to be used, im using invisible selfie stick but it is showing in my video even if i use invisible diving case
Make sure you keep the stick and housing straight. I had a slight angle with the housing and it was never invisible 😂.
do I need a red filter ?
Good video, thank you.
Question, which floating handle are you using?
Thanks so much! I just added a link in the description under X3 Accessories to the handle I used on Amazon. I hope that helps!
I see the handle, but I thought the one you used in the video had a threaded bottom, allowing a pole to be attached......I could be wrong....?
Thank you
@@JordanHetrick is this floating handle also invisible or is the official one invisible?
can you help me sir i have an x3 that is 1 month old. i used it in shalow water but i mulfunction after that. coming in a poor country and acquiring and mulfunction right away make me sad.
So how you turn on and turn it off underwater, do you use remote control?
Tried that dive case on a real scuba dive and that thing flooded right away. no seal, very light construction, would not recommend the product if you do any serious diving. This thing will just break apart.

My insta x3 dive case flooded right away. Right away within the first 5 feet
Not 3rd party Insta360 brand
We went down to 15.9 meters and it held fine. X4 though
Mine doesnt go in dive case mode when holding the Q button anyone know why?
Have you updated the firmware? This is a more recent feature.
@@JordanHetrick how do i do that?
My x3 case floats with the camera in it
I took my camera with the invisible dive case to the maldives. I was very disappointed that the quality is poor when in the dive case.
Wait. Cant you just go underwater without dive case ? It is waterproof up to 10m.

@@JordanHetrick Thanks for reply. Now it's clear :)
why my insta 360 x4 still got the stiching line even though i alredy use invisible dive case?? any ideas🥹🥹
