That may be true, but can they accept sim cards and play online on just data connections? Or receive/send sms? Can they outplay a phone on just one charge? binge watching on a phone can outlasts any portable PCs or laptops.

Just get a budget friendly phone for communication purposes while the rest of the money go into a device like the aya neo or steamdeck. Its cost efficient and one will get more bang for the bucks. Yes PC maybe better. Top of the line PC arnt easy to carry around with giant monitor. I Iike high chip power that uses low wattage. Tablets are also great. Small carry around and connect to TV inline.

I got my son an 11 pro max a couple of years ago. He mostly uses it for gaming and some social media. Now he wants a 13 pro max. If the prices go up on the 14 I gladly get him the 13 pro max before 14 comes out. The pro max is the best gaming phone hands down. No Android phone comes close to it. If I would do any mobile gaming I would get an M2 iPad to have that future proofing.

The ROG phones always have their issues, my ROG 5 was bricked in 3 months after the WiFi stopped working. I am glad that I switched to Redmagic after that, it's a gaming beast with a decent price tag.

For example, ROG does so much marketing and I had to pay a high amount but it was bricked in 3 months. Well there are games in mobile phones that is not in a handheld. Also there are more players in mobile games than in a console if you are talking about multiplayer majority of games today in mobiles are even in competitions even in egames or in Olympics I think mobile games in phones are number 1 even if you combine all consoles PC, PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox combined. It's kinda like buying a switch, or PS5 for exclusives mobile games is like that exclusive for mobile games only.

Having a gaming phone would be good even as a daily driver as its expected to perform great and would certainly have a great screen. If you think about it this way, non-gaming flagships would lose as they are priced higher. I think only the ROG one is priced as much as a Samsung Flagship, while the iPhone Flagship would cost more. Its a niche but openly thinking about it by removing the 'gaming' tagged on it would be good too.
