As a person born and raised in Canada, I would NEVER tell anyone to move here. The country is in clear decline. Opportunities are getting harder to come by, and the cost of living, especially after taxes, is insane. A person making $50,000 per year has to choose between having a car or renting a "cheap" place to live. Places like Saskatoon are more affordable, but there are even fewer opportunities there. For the record, I am looking for a new country to call home. I'll make sure to listen to the advice on this channel when I level Canada, the only home I have ever known.

You are so right. These are some of the reasons I have left Canada. It is so sad because it has such potential but the governments tax everyone so high and send the money overseas to countries like Ukraine to help finance a war but that is just one of the ways the government (liberal) wastes tax payer money.

I guess this is our new normal. May the Lord continue to bless us to manage effectively what we currently earn.
Thank you so much for your brilliant analysis on how it is living here in Canada. I've been here since 2019, and I am still trying to find my way as to what it is that I really need to live a happy life. We live in Ontario, and it is indeed difficult and challenging. Like you said, however, we can not look at how other people are living and want to be like them; they would have paid their dues. Anyhow, thank you for being real on the topic of living here. 🎉
You should learn about tent city in vancouver. It is difficult and challenging for the average canadian born in the 1990s. I guarantee that there are people born here who have it worse than you do. Canada likes to hide it’s problems, but there are starving people and children in this country, it is just silenced. My parents are immigrants, and I see the same problems for others born in this country, the opportunities are just not here anymore.
@nomdeguerre2030 I haven't seen or heard of tent city in Vancouver. However, I do note with great dismay that there are many Canadians who are homeless and cannot afford to purchase food or basic needs. I work with people who cannot afford to stay home whenever they're sick. So they show up for work instead, and then everyone else contracts whatever their illness is. All in all, it's not an easy road, and while most people are having a difficult time in Canada, I know for sure that most immigrants persevere.
I really appreciate your perspective. I am a 7th generation Canadian, and i think it is shameful the way our government is basically scamming immigrants.
Can I give you a hug? Marina, you are the best, most realistic and someone that can be looked up to. As for me and my family, this Canada will favour us, we will thrive and be happy every day of our lives. God bless you
Hi Marina, i admired your humility and forthrightness. It is always very IMPORTANT to ask yourself the WHY questions in any major decision you undertake. Why do i want to do it? Is there another option? what are the risks associated with my decision? How do i measure progress? When should i press the PAUSE or STOP botton? This gives you assurance to deal with any challenges that would arise. It is expected that no decision is 100 percent perfect, however you better position yourself to weather any storm if you have answered the key questions sincerely
Loved the video! Too many people are living above their means and that’s the biggest problem. But that’s how the system is designed here. Most people are worried about social status. Riding $70,000 vehicles when you make less than 50,000 before taxes. It’s ridiculous 😂
I think that’s part of the problem, but the other huge crisis here is that housing is extremely unaffordable even if you are trying to live under your means. A regular family house (2 bedrooms) can go over 1 million dollars. Yes families can live in apartment, but if you have lots of kids it doesn’t provide much space
@@abic67 Moving province or at least out of the expensive area (I'm in Ontario so moving out of Toronto to a smaller city will significantly reduce costs) is the easiest solution here. Not sure where you guys live - I'm in Kitchener and 2/3 bedroom home will be about 600-650k+. Which is admittedly significantly higher than before, but I can find something cheaper by moving out to a smaller city. I understand your job or business may keep you stuck there but it's worth a try to explore options and not feel that you're necessarily stuck in one particular place. I don't think moving countries is a realistic move unless you're single and in an in demand field or can work from anywhere.
Good afternoon madam. I am silent watcher. Very well said. Based I what I know everywhere in this world has challenges. Thanks for your encouragement. You are so right Mirina, No where is perfect. Bad things are happening everywhere. I am getting calls to sell my house, but where would I move to. I am happy here and I will grow where God planted me.
Great review Marina!! Indeed things have gotten harder, the job market has been crazy, food prices are high but like you said, we need to have the right mindset. In the midst of the chaos, Canada has so much opportunities and potential. The key takeaway is to be realist with oneself. As a good friend of mine would say, 'don't keep up with the Joneses; the Joneses are broke' 😆

Very wonderful insights. When I heard the complete video. I think this is a very balanced approach and summarised well. That’s important People have to take ownership of this situation and have a realistic expectations for landing in Canada.
I will add that when people come to Canada, they should come with skills as well. Before they land their dream jobs, coming with a skill like baking, sewing, hair making , plumbing so many will help you stabilize and earn extra income if you know ur onions So while they wait for that high paying job, they can take an average job and still make money with their skills. This has been so helpful for me in the past 9months of my stay here in Saskatoon. Personally, Canada is not hard compared to the country I came from. My 2cent❤
My sister, you talk true ooo, I am seeing lots of international students here and I pity them, please international students intending to come , please make sure your full 1 year school fees is ready available. Thanks for making this video and being truthful.
God bless you, Marina. No sugar coating in you. You are one blunt and honest blogger l really hold in high esteem. Not living unrealistic lifestyle. A whole lot of new immigrants are falling into this deep unrealistic expectations because of the many fake easy live styles some of the TH-camrs are painting. Migration isn’t as easy as people think. Some may be lucky to have it going smoothly from day one while others may go through zigzag route. This observation is happening here in UK as well. I see people trying to proof that they have arrived or making fast progress by moving into a bigger houses, getting hire purchase cars and many other expenses that they have better options. A friend was telling me how a young international student with wife & a child recently moved from their two bedroom apartment to a semi detached house and when the first utilities and council tax bills came, they were dumbfounded because they got almost £400 bill for gas & electricity alone. Some are not doing their due diligence before jumping gun. Apartment would have been cheaper and pocket friendly for them but now they just increase their monthly expenses . Council tax is far cheaper in an apartment than a semi detached house. Of course no problem in getting a bigger house so far one can conveniently pay but not for a struggling international students.
You are very right sis, living within your means is the best way to live in even a very worst economy, inflation has been ridiculous in most of the western countries not just Canada, notwithstanding, we still striving, all Glory to God.
You're the first person I've watched, who has presented realistic facts that should be considered before moving from your country to Canada. Thank you!
I love both sides of your story. It's what to work on. Before you decide on both steps. I am just a beginner on your channel. I also love the way you encourage people. Thanks so much for your time.
Thanks a lot for this video I am in the process of visiting in December from the UK with the mind to relocate later on . This video has made my life so much easier as what to expect in Canada.
Of all the videos I have watched concerning why people are leaving Canada, Marina this is the most encouraging and best of all of them. Thank you so much for those video. E get why you are still the best on TH-cam. Dem no let me like this video more than once. ❤❤❤❤
I sent it to my sis in law in Manitoba and her response was 'sincere and truthful". Thank you Marina for someone like me planning to come it was encouraging.
You said it all. People are thriving here, and there is no monopoly on that. Do your research before you do anything, be wise, do not follow the joneses, and your trajectory will be up. Of course, it's all by the grace of God. Thank you, Marina!
It's tough times everywhere. Healthcare is so frustrating in the UK at the moment. I remember I was on shift as a student nurse when I noticed I was short of breath. I spent 14 hours in A&E with my uniform o before I got diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. Thanks for this video, as we plan to from the UK to Canada.
If compare Nigeria vs Canada of course the lattter wins! And Saskatoon I know and it is one of the nicest cities in Canada, with everything you need and a very friendly welcoming population.
This is important. People immigrate and think it will solve all problems. Its just a new opportunity but you have to put in the work. No where is easy including abroad. You can def thrive but in due time. You have to be willing to pay your dues!
Same with life in the States .It's easy to transition here with support from family and community, but stop coming with unrealistic expectations .You can be a nurse in Africa and have to work as a nurse aide before you settle down or at McDonald's as a cleaner
Thank you Marina for this beautiful message which is timely and apt. The “hard time” subsisting now can be attributed to the aftermath of Covid-19 outbreak, and partly the Russia-Ukraine conflict which strain the global economic indices. However if one is circumspect and strategic using biblical Joseph’s experience, I believe tough times do not last but tough people do and one’ll navigate through. O Canada, my land of freedom still remains the BEST in terms of social welfare, governance and leadership compared to 9ja & some African countries where palliatives as little as “Indomie Noodles” were hoarded from the masses, and later used as elections & birthdays souvenirs. Importantly, anyone immigrating to some of these developed climes like Maple land should manage their expectations and ready to learn the ropes newly.
I wish I can like this video a million times!!! Thank you Marina for putting this out there and for always repping positivity. God bless you. Keep thriving babe❤
Really? but our country is poorer what will happen to us there's no other job opportunities here....Canadian Dollars will be big enough if converted to Philippine Pesos..
@@exclusivesinging-authentic7032 Everything is very expensive here, there’s no place to live and we need 3 jobs to be able to pay the bills. People from other countries have a good opinion of Canada but it’s based of what it was 30 years ago…

I always say this to friends and people close to me. Make your research and upskill yourself before landing. Don’t just land and start starting afresh all because you didn’t research what would work well for your situation. Take each day as it comes. live within your means, mind your business and focus on yourself. People need to know that everyone’s journey is different and stop the comparison. 2 months plus here and I love this country already🫶.
Thank you so much Marina. You are doing a great job and youu were so on point.i tell people, know where God has planted you per season and thrive there.Every country has their peculiar challenges. The grass always looks greener on the other side until you go there and realise that they may have been using filters to take the pictures😅😅.I live in Nigeria and I am still doing my migration research because I know that social media is different from reality.Im not in a hurry to leave for now.People take pictures in beautiful places but will never tell you how many jobs they keep up with to fund the lifestyle. What you said applies to everyone irrespective of your location. You can make money from anywhere but you need to have the right mindset.I applaud you for being so real in a world where people want to be fake just to please people or gain more followers.God bless you.
Thank you so much for your blunt comment. You said it as it is. Canada has been tough since my arrival into the country last year August 2022. Don’t be hard on yourself when you see what some people post online my dear people. A TH-camr will show you how she and her husband bought a house within two years in Canada and you begin to feel sorry for yourself for not having more. What they might not tell you is the following ; 1. How their family is financially stable and they have gotten some level of support from them. 2. How they might have had a thriving career years before and thus they have investments/ financial strength. 3. How they don’t have much family financial responsibility to shoulder, thus their money can achieve more for them. Etc.. We all are on different paths, seasons and timing. Be content while striving for more. In all, ensure you are living in purpose and other things will fall into place. 😊
God richly bless you for this. Those videos make me cringe especially since I understand how the system works and what is needed for a feat like that. Let is just be comfortable in our lanes. Thanks again.

I resonate with all you said! You literally said all I preach and say! Well done
Absolutely. Thanks for watching
I'm seriously looking forward to this video. Thank you Marina for the beautiful work you're doing
Oh my goodness! So sorry you had to deal with that.
You are planning to move from the UK to Canada? Hmmmm good luck with that .
@@MarieN8959 hmm moving from uk to Canada is a wise decision in my opinion. I did same mid last year and till very grateful to God for the big step.
@@MarieN8959same here, we're still considering Canada and Australia. The UK is a stepping stone.
@@MarieN8959 yeah… good luck with the healthcare system.
Thanks, Marina for this information honestly I have been making plans toward migrating I have the faith I will thrive well.
If compare Nigeria vs Canada of course the lattter wins! And Saskatoon I know and it is one of the nicest cities in Canada, with everything you need and a very friendly welcoming population.
Life Is a Journey...Be Realistic... Success takes Time....only Graves Don't Take Time..... Success to Everyone migrating.
This is important. People immigrate and think it will solve all problems. Its just a new opportunity but you have to put in the work. No where is easy including abroad. You can def thrive but in due time. You have to be willing to pay your dues!
Marina thanks for your words . God bless.
Same with life in the States .It's easy to transition here with support from family and community, but stop coming with unrealistic expectations .You can be a nurse in Africa and have to work as a nurse aide before you settle down or at McDonald's as a cleaner
Thank you so much for the info, thanks for the encouragement, we wish to be there in Canada and we will strive. Thanks
Yes you will.
You are a very wise woman. I'm new on your page but this first video makes you earn my optimal respect.
Wow, thank you!
Thank you for this message!!
Profound and substantive information. Thank you!
I wish I can like this video a million times!!! Thank you Marina for putting this out there and for always repping positivity. God bless you. Keep thriving babe❤
Exactly you've said it all,I move down to Asia few years with realistic expectations, I no dey do pass my self, despite no job allowed here.
I'm Canadian and I have just one thing to tell to anyone who is thinking about moving here: DON'T DO THAT!
Really? but our country is poorer what will happen to us there's no other job opportunities here....Canadian Dollars will be big enough if converted to Philippine Pesos..
@@exclusivesinging-authentic7032
Everything is very expensive here, there’s no place to live and we need 3 jobs to be able to pay the bills. People from other countries have a good opinion of Canada but it’s based of what it was 30 years ago…
@@exclusivesinging-authentic7032 agree. don't move to Canada. we're well on our way to poverty now, green energy policies are getting even more painful, you'd be moving into a debt trap. At a minimum you'd need to see Trudeau disappear from politics, and Canada decide to exit the UN, the WHO and other such globalist orgs that are destroying us. Otherwise, be happy you live in a warm country where being homeless doesn't mean freezing to death.
@@exclusivesinging-authentic7032taxed so enjoy working 3 jobs and most goes back to government and don’t work overtime on one job that’s gone to government. Housing is tents now so if you want money wrong country lol try the US
@@exclusivesinging-authentic7032 try Canada for yourself!
"remember your `why`" . This is something I need to remember and reapeat to myself :)
Thanks for advice.
I'm here 23 years any ready to go... time for a change.
My Mayor.. See why I call the mayor of Sask. You just ended up motivating us all. Thank you.
Creating a system that works and being realistic is very important 👌🏽
Thank you so much for this 🙏🏽
Lovely video. Living within your means is the greatest form of freedom. ❤❤
You just gain a subscriber dear!! Planing to relocate to Canada soon by Gods grace.
Thank you for joining the family. Welcome!!
@@MARINAESIRIthanks so much plz people want too much and so quick social media has spoilt us 😢
Thanks for the encouragement for us trying to move
Thank you very much.,..excellent presentation. Very factual information
You are correct sis.
This should be interesting! ❤ I looooooove the topic!
Fantastic!!! I like how you summarized it.
The only thing is Nigeria has more public holidays than we have in Canada😄
🤣🤣 the shade is loud.
Reality is totally different from the pictures taken with filters. I wish you the best of lucks as you continue to research on the best course of action. Above all,May the Lord lead you. Stay blessed.
My hubby and I we say thank it's clear merci beaucoup ❤❤❤
You're welcome 😊
Really you are the best ❤am looking forward to come to Canada from UAE hopefully in January
i smell your confidence at 100 percent pure wisdom.. i like wisdom ladies like u,,i like telling people never complain but be positive and work smart to achieve ur goals and dreams ,,i believe each and every human being has that spirit of prosperity and u can be blessed from everywhere in the world.Cheers marina esiri💥💥💥💯
I appreciate that
Thanks for this video, it's my first of watching and i will try not to miss any of your videos.
You are so straight forward and down to earth.
Thank you and welcome to the family.
Good video and I agree with you! I watch your video from Ottawa 😁👍
Don’t be hard on yourself when you see what some people post online my dear people.
A TH-camr will show you how she and her husband bought a house within two years in Canada and you begin to feel sorry for yourself for not having more. What they might not tell you is the following
;
Wow you see why i can't stop watching your videos,so informative ahhh
Like how u kept it REAL. Great content.
People forgot Covid 19 scattered everything. Many countries have been struggling since covid 19 started. Its been tough everywhere.
Finally someone being real and saying the honest truth. Marina, I respect you more after watching this video. 🤗
Many thanks
I met à medical doctor who is a realtor now and does poparide on the side 😢. As a foreign trained lawyer, I am in the relicensing process. Too many expensive exams.
What ppl don't say is that Canada has never respected foreign credentials unlike USA etc that allow others to work in their sectors Canada will make you spend time and money to prove your education is worth it with little promise
Sister I'm thankful for what you are saying. Don't compare yourself with others, make adjustments. Inflation is all around the world.
Clear guidance from a sincere heart. Thanks for very useful and helpful information. You are a rare gem Marina. May God bless you for being so sincere
Thank you so much!
I love this woman, say it how it is..the truth is my country, naija we sabi lie for ourselves
Your eloquence is mesmerizing.
Skills and Values is top notch. I always say this. Thank you Marina.
One of the best videos you have made. I commend you. No shades
Thank you very much Marina for your sincerity in this video.
