The high skilled immigrants are leaving while low skilled TFWs and "students" are flooding in - 20% is a tiny cut, it's still higher than before, the cut needs to be a lot bigger
Immigrants are leaving at a record pace, yet our population grows at a record pace, despite a poor birth rate. We should be looking at the correlation between carbon emissions and population growth. What’s the point of taking money from Canadians with a carbon tax, when population growth creates carbon emissions?
Maybe that "Top 4%" is the problem. Prioritizing the importing of already wealthy people means many come to Canada to *extract* wealth via well-paid jobs and "investing" in real estate, not actually productively contributing to our economy. Canada needs to stop spending so much effort and money trying to attract foreign "investment" and divert it to supporting Canadians instead (e.g. incentives to get more youth into trades, STEM, healthcare, etc. so that our own kids can find secure jobs, instead of so many going to LMIAs and TFWs).
@@AndrewDhaliwal-iu1ws that's not how foreign aid works. "Foreign aid" primarily goes to the Western companies & NGOs that go into other countries to "restructure", like with implementing "structural adjustment programs" (SAPs). Search "The Economic Hitmen" (a 2 minute cartoon) for a summary of John Perkins' "Confessions of an Economic Hitman."
Why isnt there ever a focus on making the natural born population's birth rate to increase? Not full blown nativism, but there doesnt seem to be any focus on this whatsoever. It always seems to be reliant on immigrants to increase the population completely. Its insane. 98% of the population growth last year was because of incoming residents.
Our medical schools favor accepting foreigners over citizens for seats- we would have more home grown medical professionals if our schools accepted more.

Are they leaving to America
@c.f.okonta8815 they are, and so are Canadians. The number of Canadians in the USA hit a 10 year high this year
So they can collect Canada Pension while living among family and jealous neighbours back home at one thirds the cost.
So you and your family are doing that?
@KoolKat42 no, I love Canada I've never went outside Canada since I got here 40 years ago.
