A gift from an innocent, beautiful heart. So cheerful and full of life, beautiful Heather died of cancer a few years after that at the cruel age of 20. This song still makes me cry.
Pau Weller's voice is just consistently great! Mick Talbot back up vocals and instruments give us that pop classic beat. Great video and atmosphere is just classic and ethereal. This was the age of the New Romantics. The '80s is really the Golden Age of creative music. Visually appealing sights and sounds!
Romantic it is not, modernist it is. TSC had no association with the New Romantics. Weller was experimenting with jazz (just listen to the guitar solo here), soul, pop and funk.

The jam was so much to the fans it was a way of life , it was for me , nothing ever has been like it for me ,,, but now I have no time for Weller at all , just grown away from it all TSC did sum ok stuff , this track is fantastic
Simply a perfect song and in my opinion a unique song from them , very different from other council records. The councillors sang this very well recently

It's one of my most played songs and sing with Paul but resonate to Tracie who gets massive respect for having us self manage as she And Respond were chucked aside with only half hearted help from polydor who refused to issue her second album. It sat in the studio and suffered from the Ampex adhesive jinx which affected so Many of the seminal recordings of the era that an entire technology was invented over the course of a decade to rescue them.

great song from back in the day. somehow never seen this before...and have been following Weller since 1979. TSC were a great band. yes different to The Jam but not in a bad way in my opinion. A magic song from a magic band. This is my Weller, not the one before or the current one. Pity he doesn't see things like this.
I love the way Tracie's BV's are used. almost to the point of duet. Her intensity perfect complements the emotional states of the lyric.
it's also one of my favorite ever productions. jeremy mealing's strings are PERFECT on this track .
