Exposing a child under age 2 to chicken pox does a few things. First it sets them up to get it again. Some kids don’t build an immunity when they are that young. Second, as others pointed out, shingles. My daughter caught chicken pox twice it was awful both times.
Never knew that.
@@tennatenna3865 unfortunately, I didn’t either, until the second time she got them. The pediatrician said, she was only a few months old the first time, so she wasn’t able to build up immunity.
The “rites of passage” that kids in previous generations endured like chicken pox and broken bones are actually very serious and dangerous.
I’m glad that younger generations are starting to understand this and take action to protect their children.
And you are set up to get shingles. Shingles is the chicken pox virus that has laid dormant in a nerve and can come out as painful blisters and possible nerve damage, after. If it settles in a facial nerve, you can get in your ear and cranial nerves. It happened to me 18 years ago. I have been disabled ever since, as it keeps recurring and the pain is debilitating. Hearing loss, facial paralysis and balance problems are heck on earth. It all starts with chicken pox. Preventing that is key.
Id be absolutely livid too - trish isnt the one that will have to actually deal with a sick child.
Op is.
And the fact that she did it on purpose!! Wow.
For story 1, I would file a police report for child endanagerment against the father and Trish. She can use that during the divorce. I've never been a person to promote divorce, but this man is abusive. He literally locked the sick baby in the car. That's a crime in lots of countries, you're not allowed to leave your baby in the car alone. And the intentional chickenpox exposure is a whole another level! Divorce him and would even try to go for a protective order (I'm not american so idk how that works).
😂 The karma of Trish getting shingles after exposing OP’s daughter to chicken pox is 🤌🏼💋. The fact that the husband hasn’t connected the dots that not only did his mother make his daughter suffer unnecessarily, but now she too is also at risk of developing shingles later in life.
Exactly why he's a man-child!!!
poor little Annie ☹☹ that guy shouldn't be a dad, he's way too much of a momma's boy 🤮
@@The_Nightsong I doubt he will be rewarded custody considering what his parents did he wasn’t acting like a father he was acting like a son worse yet a mama boy’s
@@mikethoroughgood16 let's hope so! Annie and OP deserve better.
I've heard this story before Mother-law or I should say soon to be ex-mother-in-law was very much in the wrong Annie was a very much a toddler you don't do that to a child and her goddamn husband locking Annie in a car to try to force his wife to apologize I hope he enjoys the single life and never seeing his daughter again no way any judge would grant custody to him for that and Trish is going to never see her again plus I'm glad she got shingles yes it's bad to say but she infected a infant with a disease that left actual scars so that's karma working against her
Everything that happened is divorce and restraining order worthy. Both STBX husband and MiL are going to have a hard time explaining to the judge why they tried to murder a baby.
Dude I lost it when he said "nobody has died from chicken pox". Alexa please look up the history of chickenpox. shows that people have died
I heard it from Vincey and it is infuriating
I just hoped, that OP would sue Trish for causing serious bodily harm, as that’s what deliberately exposing someone to an illness that requires medical attention and/or leaves permanent damage is. In the best case Trish could have gotten jail time.
OP needs to report the MIL for her actions to the cops, press charges. She also needs to report her hubby. I actually wish that she had called the cops when it happened. The reports would help with custody. Not to mention she could get a restraining order against MIL.
Story 4 reminds me of the guy who ran away when his wife and nieces were attacked by a dog in their own back yard. Wife had to protect and defend a 5 year old and a baby from a dog. Dude literally ran out of their yard through the gate and left her there. That marriage didn't recover, that was more than an 'ick'. This was too. If the fiance had grabbed her hand and then booked it, he'd be in the clear. But he didn't do that.
I know the dog attack story. That guy was pathetic. I don't blame the OP in this story for breaking up. Like she said, one of her Love Languages is security.
@@lindah3803 Right? And in the dog attack story, the wife even yelled at her husband to get her mace/bear spray. Dude couldn't even do that. And this story...all the guy had to do was grab her hand and run WITH her.
I’ve had shingles before many years ago back when I was in elementary school. It wasn’t fun. Has to stay out of school for more than a week. They were painful to touch and not a pretty sight, don’t recall if I ever had chicken pox before. I still have scars from shingles even today and they’re the most vivid memory I’ve had from childhood.
Yay, Kevin-day is a good day. No matter how bad a story is, he somehow always leaves me with a good feeling. Perfect start into the weekend.
Reddit stories really make it seem like adopting when you already have bio children is a family-killer. It’s depressing to hear all these stories about bio kids who get pushed to the periphery of their families.
I missed you Kevin, glad you're back! 😁
Chicken Pox CAN kill! If your baby has an unknown health condition or even just doesn’t handle it well, it absolutely could. Thats why there’s an immunization for it, plus it can prevent shingles in the future. They should report the grandparents to the police, and file a restraining order then go no contact. I’d be pretty worried to keep with a person who’d allow this too, so hubby would be out the door as well. Hopefully OP can get full custody on the child, because he’s clearly a danger.
@reallysparked love the long format videos! only comment was if you could deep dive Reddit and find stories or narratives that are longer… maybe do playlists based on content type?
Just found you! And I am really enjoying your channel. Pam from England.
Welcome to the channel!
Story 5: I honestly felt he made a stupid choice to lie, but I question that after hearing OP say that he said no one ever mentioned his ring, but then later he apparently said that some did, but most didn't. Feels fishy
I don't know which country the people from story 1 are from, but here where I live, and if this happened to me and my daughter, I'd go straight to the nearest police station. What that woman did to the poor child is a crime and at least should result in a restraining order. As for the husband: divorce.
I'm guessing the wedding deal could have been for numerous reasons 1. They only wanted married couples there. I've heard of that before as weird as it is. 2. Bride is insecure and didn't want to be "outshined by the prettier girls" 3. They aren't as close as they think they are. Sounds like the groom wanted ops fiance there and bride couldn't care less
Story 7 - I think the reason why he did and they were compliant is bc of Islamophobia/Xenophobia. Some of the people may have been compliant to suck up if they were subordinates, but I just think they were hateful people. Sometimes it’s that simple
Kevin!😮

Why do I feel like story 7 is crowdstrike?😂
2:01:01 as a Marine? When she said “Marine boot camp” because holy shit this kid is absolutely FUCKED. Also my childhood sweetheart was like this, we both joined separately a year apart. He made it through boot camp bc he was a meathead, but floundered in the fleet. His mom also excused his poor behavior towards me similarly, minus the therapy rotting your brain part.
Had she stayed with him, I could confirm that she would have had hell if they married. Depending on his command, they will back him, even if he’s objectively wrong. Hell, we were in the same command and they turned against me despite him being a known fuckup because “I had potential and all he had going for him was an honorable discharge”. He got me investigated for adultery multiple times with a suggestion despite having at least 8 mistresses, and me having proof at the time that I had to divert him from a ninth one who may have been a minor. The abuse stopped short of knocking my head between the washer and dryer, but emotional, financial, sexual, and mental abuse was fine with him because you couldn’t see those marks.
I’m glad that OP ran when she could.
story 4 girl was WAY too quick in her decision. love isnt a feeling, its a choice. you choose to be with the person despite their flaws, and cowardice is a flaw that can be worked on. homegirl seems to be hiding or not even realizing smth else
i myself have a very big peeve with coward people, but i always give the chance of those who i choose to love to work on that
Love is both, you have to feel Love in order to be able to decide if you'll stay with that Love. To say elsewise is, jaded? To say the least.
New guy is truly the hero against banana nose. Great to hear, that he came with her, he already showed, he has her back.
That mother in law and husband are such assholes. As someone who was part of the "chicken pox party" generation and now just recently am getting over shingles, just NO. Don't let them get chicken pox and GET YOUR KIDS VACCINATED. I wouldn't wish the shingles hell on anyone (except that mother in law) and because I'm immune-compromised later in life, it ended up to be a BIG fluffin deal with a lot of agony and a huge amount of pain. Just shy of a month out, and I am STILL feeling the effects from it and still have sores trying to heal.
A casual Google search reveals that chicken pox can be dangerous for infants. While the odds of death are small, it still isn't 0%. If my mother-in-law and/or wife pulled something like this, a divorce would be the TAME result😡
I had chicken pox 4 separate times as a child. My body just couldn't develop an immunity to it so I kept getting it. It put me at risk for any number of adult issues. The last thing my parents would have thought to do is try and force an immunity by approximation with infected kids, though.
As my best friend said to me after having my stomach pumped “Peer pressure isn’t real, you’re just weak.” That last guy is really gonna have a rude awakening when he arrives for basic, he’s definitely gonna run into the wrong guy.
I’m laughing at the difference between story 2 and 3. The drug addict brother was more mature and communicative than the 2nd OP. There’s a lesson in there about open communication
First story, when i was young the mothers would have the children play to have the chickenpoks done with. But we where like 4/5. In my country chickenpox is not in the vaccination program.
I get the thing OP said jack said. Only reason i ever did heroin/fentanyl was to deal with severe traumas. They made the flashbacks go away
The wedding invite one. Why didn't she ask? Or have boyfriend ask if she can be his plus one? She's making it too complicated. I got an invite to a friend's wedding and it didn't say plus one and I was living with my boyfriend (now hubby) so I asked, hey can I bring him? My friend was like, ya of course. When the invites were sent hubby had just moved in so they addressed it to just me but all I did was ask and if they said no I would still have gone because we are friends. All you need to do is ask and not overthink it.
Story 1 makes me so angry i see red. So im going to make myself feel better for story 2: "create a riff-t" badum tsss
...
Ill see myself out now
Second story sounds like the bride was wanting to stock up drama and wanting to be a drama llama.
I figured he got into the lie to fit in cuz there is intense pressure on men to act and be a certain way, especially in those kinda circles. Not excusing it, but i can get his mindset
funny thing, i JUST heard story 1 on a different reddit channel, so it's hilarious to hear it again on this one, lol
BRO WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN

@@ABadPasswordyou know what? respect 😌
Story 2 - I honestly think hg is triiiippin 😂 she’s reading way too far into that and getting hella weird abt it
HELL YEAH LEVIN WAY TO STICK UP FOR US AVERAGE HEIGHT GUYS!
I don't think the OP lost love for her fiancé when he ran, it sounds more like she lost all respect for him. still possibly shallow but I think it's better for both that she ended it so quick.
Respect and sense of security.
1:54:15 this was my ex fiance tbh
The airport story, I have ADHD and would do things like forget important stuff, be late, forget all kinds of other things and miss meetings. I didn't realize it wasn't normal until I was diagnosed. It's very common for people with ADHD. Also, excessive sleep during the days.
There are different kinds of ADHD as well.
What makes him suck is his lack of wanting to change. He'll realize when you leave him.
The last story:
"When did you know they were going to break up"
When she said he's leaving for USMC bootcamp; and then everything she described about him basically being a crapbag made sense.
this whole "ick" thing is just so childish, to me. If you can't use grown up words to describe a disappointment, revulsion or turn-off then you aren't mature enough to bother being in a relationship full stop.
Right??? I felt it was a teenager
Boomer logic. Language evolves. "Ick" is a word with legitimate meaning. Get with the times. Also he literally left her to get mugged. You are ignoring everything and honing in on the least important sentence (especially since OP literally explained it all multiple times, so you are just a liar) to be a boomer is really silly
@@DumbAsh00 First of all, not a boomer. Second of all, I hsve no issue with her not feeling safe with him, anymore, and wanting to leave him.
I am fully aware that language changes. That doesn't stop you from sounding like a middle schooler when you use language like "He gave me an ick" when you're supposed to be an adult. If you want to sound like a child, by all means do so. Just don't act like one when you're calld out on it.
The only thing I registered from the weirdo coworker story is that maybe OP has seen Garfield and Friends, specifically the “and Friends” half, because in “Orson’s farm” (I think is the name of the other show) they called the rooster, “Roy”, banana nose because he would pull pranks on the others in one of the episodes. (Which by the way, all he was doing was pulling pranks, like jumping out and scaring someone or something- and yet people who claimed to be his friends resorted to insulting his appearance as revenge instead of just pranking him back- doesn’t really add up, to me.)
You can have her arrested
Chickenpox can kill a kid at that age And it's not uncommon when kids to die get it that young
That story about the ick, I could see why if she now sees him as a coward, but I agree she could've done more to salvage/ explain how she felt.
To me it’s all about language. Yeah, I probably would’ve rethought my relationship if my partner left me in danger to save themself. That’s not an “ick” that’s deal breaker. People overuse “ick” so much.
@@bleedingroze I get that. If anything I feel like he was a straight up coward, but if there was an experience he had in the past that caused this, it'd make more sense. To me I think its stupid since they could've jumped him.
I really hope Jack is able to kick his addiction and find real help for his trauma. 💖
Does anybody know what video game is playing behind the story? The guy riding the horse around?
Red Dead Redemption 2
