    For S2, there is an entire reality's difference between "teaching someone a lesson" and "open triggering a panic attack", one if done poorly is a dick move, the other should be sued over. WTH was she thinking? There were literally 1,001 ways to actually teach a lesson (counseling, reddit discussion, f'ing Twitch Polls), that didn't have to verge anywhere close to trauma inducement.

    The midwife falsely accused him of abuse! If that got back to the base, he could get in serious trouble. Not to mention forcing his wife to give birth without her husband or mother, and making him miss the birth of his first child. He absolutely did the right thing reporting the midwife, and it sounds like he needs better friends if they think this is okay.

      Also they need to take her license completely. None of that temporary suspension with further training. I have no doubt that OP and his wife are not the midwife's 1st victim.

    That last story near to sent me into a full-on panic attack.
    Guys, whatever your age, if a woman in your life is losing the red stuff at the rate that she's actually staining furniture WITH feminine products applied- TAKE HER TO THE ER.
    Jfc... My own daughter suffers from (other) feminine issues, and the amount of dismissiveness and gaslighting by medical pros is absolutely unconscionable.
    One of the best ways to combat that is for women to have strong advocates to support them, and to learn to advocate for themselves. So glad the story turned out well. I can't imagine my kids going to freaking reddit in a medical emergency, but thank goodness it turned out well.
    Also, the OP reminds me strongly of my own (now adult) son- he's hilarious and sweet, if somewhat clueless. Hope that family does well going forward. Sounds like they have one another's backs.

      Something similar happened to me. I had my period for pretty much 2 years (minus like four days in a row one summer) and no one took it seriously. I started bleeding through the largest hygiene products available within 15-20 minutes. Went to the ER bc i was in excruciating pain.
      ER doc kinda shrugged and asked if i wanted to start birth control. Asked four times if I was pregnant and did two blood pregnancy tests (both negative). Didn't even do a proper exam.
      When i finally got in to see my OBGYN, it was a few Nasty, thankfully benign, polyps. Needed a D&C (which isn't only for abortions), and still have a fucked up uterus ever since.
      🤷🏼‍♀️ no one listens. Even when I say I want it Out.

    • @kdcthelioness
      @kdcthelioness หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the amount of misinformation we're given is horrific. I dealt with horrible periods, to the point of treating them like literal illnesses: nausea, dizziness, incredible pain. Different medications made it worse (yay antidepressants for making me not want to self-delete from depression, boo for them making me sarcastically consider self-deletion because fuck this monthly subscription to satan's waterfall), but it got better with birth control.
      Years later? I learn I had endometriosis. THE WHOLE TIME. Luckily it was a fairly minor case so I don't have any lasting issues now that I've had a hysterectomy, but I want to go scream at every teacher and coach in high school who told me I was exaggerating. I HAD LESIONS ON MY LIVER AND DIAPHRAGM OF COURSE I FELT TERRIBLE.
      Good on the OP in that story for learning, even if OMG SERIOUSLY SHE'S LOSING THAT MUCH BLOOD TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL TWO UPDATES AGO was my thought process during the beginning of the story. I appreciate someone being willing to admit that they were being dumb and work to learn and better understand things.

    • @kdcthelioness
      @kdcthelioness หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lovewrote97 hysterectomy is absolutely worth it, if you can find a doctor who's not a dickweed and is willing to do it. I had mine almost 2 years ago and I have no regrets other than not doing it sooner. Consider looking into doctors who do gender affirming care; they tend to be more willing to accept the premise of "this organ is actively decreasing my quality of life and I want it gone". I don't know where you live, so this might be easier said than done, especially if you're in a more conservative area. But there are doctors out there who will listen to you, and I wish you the best of luck finding one.
      Also, the phrase "quality of life" is a really important one to use when talking with medical providers. As in, "this is having a significant negative impact on my quality of life". I think it's something to do with insurance paperwork? Maybe some medical people can weigh in on that. But there are absolutely key phrases to get doctors to take you more seriously.
      (geodendrochromosaur on tiktok has some awesome videos on how to interact with medical professionals to get them to take you seriously. Like there's a whole playlist of them. Highly highly recommend.)
      I hope you are able to find compassionate and proactive providers who are able to advocate for you to get the help you need.

    S2 is immediate break up territory. That's like having someone say something rude to you and you turn around and hit them in the head with a metal bat to "let them see how it feels." There is no good relationship built on that kind of revenge/reciprocation. That's purely abuse, and OP is an idiot if he doesn't go no contact with that psychopath.
    Jesus man he told her his deepest fear and she *USED IT* to terrorize him (literally) and she thinks this is justice. Absolute sociopath.

    The period story: i appreciate the brother trying to help the sister and doing whatever he could in the moment despite not knowing to do... but my god--- this is why sex-ed is so important and i feel like we need to learn about both sexs anatomy. This is a case where thaat knowledge is extremely helpful. Yes a period sucks but its different for each person- the fact that she mentioned it was a abnormal ammount of cramping and the fat she bleed through not only once but multiple times even after putting on a pad AND tampon to the point its running down her legs- the fact she was letting out MASSIVE clots- A period sucks bt it shouldnt be like your down right bleeding out and DIEING- To all the guys out there please know that that level of bleeding is never normal. There are so many number of life threatening scenarios that cold be casing that and all with a time limit as your body only has so much blood to use and takes a long time to replenish that blood if not needing a actual blood transfusion- On top of that people do go to the hospital a lot becase of there normal periods due to low iron defenciency and blood loss. Theres this weird stigma about periods where they both are spposed to be awful but also arent taken seriously enough to be regarded as a serious issue. Iv seen so many awful takes about periods in my life its downright baffling- The most absurd one that I see commonly is guys telling someone to just "hold it in" like its pee or soemthing??? Like sir maybe the next time you get a gash on your arm I refuse to give you a bandaid and tell you to "hold it in". The brother in the story though was doing extremely well given the situation and the lack of knowledge. I just cant stress enough why we need better sex-ed.

    Man the story with the brother was so heart warming. Yeah he was a bit dumb at first, but he’s also 19. He knew all his sister’s comfort items and how to help periods and didn’t make it a big deal until it was a big deal.
    I also laughed at “nah I’m not saying anything! She caught me smoking weed and still hasn’t ratted!” like that’s such a sibling response and I loved it.
    I’m showing this last story to my mother, since both of us are AFAB and have horrible experiences with men who have never experienced periods- so I think it’ll give us both a little bit of more hope :)
    I loved him knowing his sisters blood type and not his own as well. And the “ooohhhh I was wondering why she couldn’t just pee in a cup” made me laugh as well

  • @1toshi32
    @1toshi32 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Wow that last story was pretty scary and he handled that well though I was worried about him fkg around while the sister was bleeding so much. If she knew it wasn't normal that she was bleeding so much, then the ER is the only place they should be heading for. While he was stuffing around on the internet, she could have bled out. When in doubt, GO TO THE ER. That is the common sense thing. But I guess if you are 19, common sense doesn't really kick in so much. Good job that he got her there and that is safe and well. The other thing is that he has educated us on this as a thing. I am glad they found out and that they can do something about it.

      To be fair, there's a lot of folks who don't. Usually because they either lost the paperwork informing such(sometimes babies get bloodwork done after birth for medical purposes like extended stays or needing to be in the NICU), or they've never been in a situation that requires them to be aware. I for example, fall in the latter category. Never needed surgery, never needed a blood transfusion, so on. That said, big bro is clearly the 'Lovable Goober' type. Which is nice. Here's hoping the Captain of the Banana Boat will continue to have smooth sailing and calm seas eh?
