Thank you so much. I've lost 32 pounds so far. My weight plateaued about 20 pounds in but i realised i was overdoing the fats so adjusted my intake and the weight shifted again. I avoid processed foods, keep to a 6 hr eating window but dont eat late in the day. Sleep has improved. I feel better than i have for years. I cant thank you enough.

Loving your calm presentations and straight forward information. I started a keto, low carb lifestyle 11 months ago, I’m 57 and have lost about 40 lbs, however since the new year I have occasionally eaten a few more carbs and sugars, getting stuck in that sugar cycle and I’ve been struggling to lose my last 20 lbs, I keep losing and regaining the same 10lbs over and over in the past 4 months, which is frustrating. Thankfully I’ve kept my intermittent fasting going, otherwise I may have regained it all back. I’m at the top of my healthy weight range but I’d really like to be at the lower end, it’s there that I lose all my belly fat and feel most comfortable, I’m feeling inspired again by watching your videos thank you 😊

Becky & Keith. I just want to jump in and say thank you. I'm an ex tradesman and was very active. A sudden long term illness means I've been housebound for 2 years and am now pretty much chair bound. I'm on heavy meds that encourage weight gain, I'm alone all day and eating became one of my few pleasures, consequently I've gained 60lbs.
Purely following you're concise instruction, I've started losing without exercise of any kind, and am never hungry. Like Keith, fortunately I don't get bored with a repetitious diet and I am able to keep everything simple and eat the same meals daily. I'm enjoying the whole experience 2 weeks in.
You have no idea how this has lifted me, I thought I was heading into being a take the wall down and get me out case.
I sit and watch several of your videos at random every day and always learn, even if I've seen them before. I just need to get my wife on board who is the biggest sugar addict you've ever seen.
I hope you get back whatever you are hoping for from this, you have saved me, quite literally. I'll come back and let you know how I go on long term.
Thank you again. Graham Manchester UK.

Hemp and chia seeds, almonds and especially almond flour, dark chocolate, and certain leafy greens like beet greens, spinach, and chard are very high in oxalates, so I would recommend going on a low-carb AND a low-oxalate diet if you really want to reduce inflammation and improve your overall wellness. Note: Hemp oil is okay to include in a low-oxalate diet as it contains no oxalic acid - it is only the fat of the hemp seeds.

I don't need to lose weight (1.83m, 77kg) but found that by cutting out sugar (Coke, sugar in tea, biscuits, etc) that I have lost wrinkles round my eyes. Furthermore, I heard from another video that one can benefit from doing a 5 minute high intensity exercise routine. I was originally gym-ing 5 days a week and have now added this 5 minute routine for Saturday mornings. It sounds like nothing but believe me, it provide a lot of exercise.

I stopped eating potatoes, rice, pasta, and white bread, last October. I also stopped snacking between meals and finished my evening meal by 7.30pm. Salads and veggies were increased, meat consumption stayed the same. I rapidly lost 5 kg, so occasionally had potatoes or rice or pasta, in much reduced portions to what I would normally, say once every 7-10 days. I eat three extra-thin slices of Vogels bread (whole grain) toasted with avocado and cottage cheese EVERY day, and as of April 2020, I have lost a total of 9.5kg. I am 69 years old and it was all very easy, I have never felt hungry. I sometimes indulge myself with a meal which doesn’t fit into my new regime and my weight is still holding steady sometimes losing or gaining 100-200gm every few days.

Dr. Becky, have you ever tried bulletproof tea? I basically make a keto chai latte with black chai tea, coconut and almond milk (both unsweetened), ghee, and coconut oil. I also add some stevia, cinnamon, pure vanilla extract, and pink Himalayan sea salt. It sounds like a lot, but when whipped together, it is delicious! It reminds of a coffee shop order.

You could make your own kefir which cuts some of the lactose. Kefir lactose is 3.7gm per serving. Kefir is typically lower in lactose than yogurt and therefore may be tolerated better by people with lactose intolerance. Yogurt fermentation is shorter than Kefir. Home made kefir is usually fermented just under 24 hours.

People keep saying to eat plant based veggies, well leafy greens, spinach, swiss chard, kale are all very very high in uric acid. I was eating spinach every evening as a side with my meal and my uric acid went way up so I'm off leafy greens. People seem to neglect to say that about veggies having high uric acid. Shell fish like shrimp are also very very high in uric acid.

Dear Natasha, Dr. Adkins always said that it's very critical to take a good quality bioavailable multi-mineral vitamin pill when you are on a low-carb diet.
That way you will not have an inbalance that causes you to binge on foods to try to get these nutrients. It could spare you from having another relapse! I would suggest you get online and look up vitamins and minerals that are whole food-based vitamins. Bioavailable. Not fractured. Sincerely Tammie💞

To be successful to stay on a low carb diet as your lifestyle it is the best to do it as a part of intermittent fasting and there I highly recommend the digital eating scheme 1-0-1-0.. etc.
where 1 stands for day 1 containing max 3 meals during 9 -10 hours and the 0 stands for day without food consumption during 38-39 hours and where you consume 4 times coffee with some full fat 36% lactose free cream and some teaspoons of butter
and 1 or 2 cups of hot water with some bonebroth or vegetable broth dice in!

You are right about reading labels. In fact, the Justins brand is one that you have to be careful about. They add sugar and bad fats to some of their products.

I've read conflicting information about chia seeds. Some sources saying they are digested in the gut, others saying they must be ground first to be beneficial. What say you?

I’ve just recently noticed how my taste buds changed. I’ve been low-carbing now for about a month. My son offered me a sugar cookie and it was not sweet to me at all! It was like a mouthful of flour. 🥴

Melissa, it's odd you should say this. I dropped bread and sugar from my diet about three months ago but once in a blue moon I wake up feeling like a cup of tea with sugar. The last time I did it I could hardly taste the sugar. That was about four days ago.
