Even if government wishes to pity the consumer and and both centre and state gets back to old rates it would be great relief. But, I know that our government is always short on money so it needs that revenue to pay salaries to its employees and do great things for its people so that no Indian dies of hunger and poverty. This is the reason why the poverty has been almost eliminated in India, we have 100% electrification, and the rate of child wasting stunting and malnutrition has decreased to a significant level. 🙏

As right pointed out in this video the tax rate on petrol will reduce only when there will be collections from other sources OR India becomes a developed country. Nope man ,
GST itself is an indirect tax. How can govt introduce another indirect tax . Then what is the point of getting rid of vat and excise .reducing the rates of them will be sufficient to cut it down to 128%
Moreover under GST act rate can be maximum of 40% so then cover fuel under that and impose some import duty
But moreover I think effective tax should not go beyond 100%. It's totally unfair
    Anyways nice video mate.

What if GST Council create a 150% Tax slab specifically for Petroleum products and Alcohol? Politically, it may be a reason for opposition but For ease of doing business, the process would be streamlined. And Why GOI still paying for the shortfall of revenue to States? GOI should not do this instead it should encourage States to bring investment that would create a healthy competition among States. But Politics...

Prices of diesel and petrol should be fixed and state central government tax should be divided between them the money they will get from fixed rates 80-85 minus actual petrol/diesel rates.
