Ive travelled jet airways economy couple of times during 2011-2016, It was fine no complaints . (Comparing ) Although cheap we had to pay for food in flights like spice jet/ or indigo and No television .nothing to keep ourselves engaged. But jet used to provide good service, food , tv with some extra cost for the ticket . Dont know what happened later.

Crew threatening passenger with “severe consequences” for filming, wow. Privacy can’t be an argument, because 1) they are watched by hundreds of cameras and satellites once they put their feet out of their home and 2) you blur their faces. The only reason they don’t like cameras is their fear of someone getting their low motivation and lack of customer-orientation on video. People like them can send whole airlines down the gutter, because passengers aren’t fools.
Well, I have made many flight and train videos, but luckily I haven't had the experience shown in this video so far. Some crew members welcome filming, others don't care and if someone doesn't feel comfortable to appear on video I blur the faces. But what they do here is simply outrageous, not even Air Koryo behaves like that.
Exactly, thanks for your reply, but in the end it comes down to the crew, I do what they say. I don't film the crew at all unless they give me their ok. Usually we have a little chat during the flight anyway about the videos, flying and different airlines :-). So I was very surprised to see what I saw in this video, I think that's totally unnecessary.

It is not about a real threat, but about their general behaviour. Behaving like that is entirely unprofessional, inappropriate and should not be tolerated at an airline or any other company. Josh is not a criminal, but a paying customer, so talk to him like to a customer. We're not in the jungle here, where we threaten each other.

Etihad have basically ruined all the airlines they got involved with including Air Berlin (bankrupt), Baboo (bankrupt), Air Serbia (from legacy to pure LCC), Alitalia (epic failure) and sadly Jet Airways. The Etihad Group is a failed project. There are many more stronger players out there. Aviation business is tough.

Having flown on Jet multiple times due to work, I can honestly say your review is bang on. It's my least preferred domestic flight,and most of it is due to the crew's attitude. They were 'once' the best airline, waaaaaayyyy back... But they didn't hold on to the edge and just let it deteriorate. Very sad indeed. The food in economy class sucks as well. Referring to your video, I can't imagine having to look at a 'blank wall' for the duration of a flight! At least in economy, the window is next to you and you can look out, at whatever. Anything is better than looking at a blank wall. And your seat looked like a really tight fit. Sorry Jet, but this was a very fair review.
Yes, I agree. The window was behind the seat to where you had to look behind your shoulder to even look out of it, and even then you could only see a limit area in front of the plane and nothing directly to the side or behind.
Amazing how times have changed! These well documented experiences of other travellers is saving others to be cautious when and if they should do business with these companies! This kind of 1st hand andp visual information was literally not possible 9 years back when I took my trip to India via Jet Airways!
I know it’s a bit off topic, but I had to share my ‘nightmare’ business class trip from Sydney to Beijing last month with Capital Airways. When I sat down in my allotted seat and my eyes had adjusted to the gloom in biz class, I realised the interior of the cabin was filthy, ( my forearm stuck to the armrest - I don’t even want to think about what it was ! ) the back of the seats were all torn so all the magazines etc ended up on the floor. I went into the loo and washed and dried my hands ( and ‘that’ arm too ). and sat in my seat again. However, someone must have been watching because I got some moisturiser out of my bag, and applied some to my hands and arms, before I finished a male staff member hurried over and told my husband (but not me) that I shouldn’t use so much of their hand lotion as it can cause allergies. If they were aware of that then why didn’t they remove it ? In any case I used my product, not theirs, which, by the way was a scungy disgusting half empty bottle, for everyone to use. Aside from that the staff all huddled at the front of the cabin and nervously stared at the passengers. Finally I would say - STAY AWAY from Capital Airways - their planes haven’t been cleaned since the Pope was an altar boy. !!!

I used to travel in Air India, the crew welcomed me with a grin everytime as if "oh not him again." You can see broken seats, window frames coming off, worn out things, etc. However I liked their food everytime.

I don't get it when there are unpassionate flight attendants with bad attitude, especially in business class. That's like working at Mandarin oriental with a bad attitude which of course doesn't happen. I really think airlines should do a better job in choosing flight attendants for business class.

However, you are in for a big suprise if you are not following the procedures that you are supposed to...Thats for the safety of not only you but other passengers aswell....Id say most passengers often disagree with crew and their specific airline policies... Ive seen so many mothers refusing refusing e.g. to fasten their childrens seatbelt as they were sleeping... or refusing to put the armests down before landing etc. Passengers complaining about not having a specific drink availabld to them... Sth is broken and crew cannot fix it whilst airborne etc etc... so they are being shouted at by angry passengers. Not to mention fights between passengers or drunk passengers going crazy cause they are being refused another drink... Ive seen it all... These are just a few examples...

Guy Tellitstrait jet airways is a perfect example of overspending; they used to spend so much money on premium service but now due to low cost airlines they are now bankrupt and are cost cutting to the extreme
I flew Jet Airways Heathrow to Dehli and return in 2008, and I was very impressed. The flight attendants were especially pleasant and helpful. Obviously, during the intervening years things have gone seriously awry. If this is typical of Jet Airways standards now, they deserve to go under.
In-flight entertainment wasn't Working when I flue from Mumbai to Bangkok with Jet Airways. Even though I complaint they don't bother to change my seat or bother.
I have been on Jet .. My ticket was from Mumbai to Lucknow ...and they phone me in morning saying come soon or your ticket will be cancelled as flight is overbooked ....and you won't get refund...it's written on rules of our ticket... And the flight was till Varanasi.. But at Lucknow airport they tell Varanasi passengers that flight won't go further...get off and go ...
I flew once from Amsterdam to Colombo via Mumbai with Jet Airways and was really satisfied with with service and comfort on board and I was really upset 😢 about the bankruptcy of this airline

What’s funny...or not funny at all, is that they KNEW you were going to film. The management had every chance to at least do a little extra cleaning, fix the seats, and also tell the staff to at least pay someone with a following on TH-cam some extra courtesy. They obviously don’t care, or actually think they service offering is acceptable...FOR BUSINESS CLASS!!!!
Totally agree, they could have communicated it at least with the crew since I was mentioning it a few days beforehand that I was gonna travel with them...
While you wont find my videos on YT im a FF and love watching content producers. I do some filming but generally for my own purposes / keepsakes. I often approach the airline i'll be flying with in advance and ask them for any recent changes to their filming policies onboard. I then find the FSM / FM / etc etc say Hi! & tell them i'll be vlogging the flight "if that's okay with you ( him/ her)" and ask them to ask the entire crew if anybody ( crew wise) doesn't want to be in the video and make clear to the FSM that I will ensure that anyone who doesn't want to be filmed will be blurred out if caught in footage although i'll try to make sure they aren't captured at all. I'm sure you do something along the same lines from the sound of it. Something that I have found to be a godsend is the following - keep the email/ tweet/ fb tagged post from the airline themselves saved on your phone and immediately available to pull up ( screenshots of it or something like that) & show the head of the cabin crew for your flight where they have said that they will look forward to a copy of the video blah blah blah. This tends to overcome any issues when the FSM can see that the big bosses are aware and happy for you to be doing what you are doing. Only once have I had a FSM point out that corporate said 'please say hello to the senior cabin crew and check they are okay with it' who then said he wasnt and he'd take my camera off of me if I filmed. I simply pointed out that he'd ignored the last bit of the sentence where they'd also said words to the effect of 'our crews are used to it and we at XXXXXXXX love our 5 minutes of fame and we encourage them to get involved or help you out where they can' took his name and spoke to the airline afterwards. We are all human we all have off days but in this case it seems the crew in video went super harsh & I think were out of order. It's not like vlogging travel videos is new and you're certainly not the 1st person to film onboard an Indian carrier so imho she was out or line or at least acted to harshly. Use it as a learning experience and keep any corporate or head office comms you have to hand if you experience it again and hopefully my trick will work for you as it has for me.

Lovely unbiased review. I thought I was the only one who experienced such service in Jet Airways but I'm encouraged to see the reviewer also had the same issue. I made a decision last year to fly less with Jet airways after being treated badly consistently and I'm letting go of my silver status with Jet privilege, who have devalued the miles for redemption by a whopping 100%.
I'm amazed by how gracious you remained, despite of. If that was Business Class, I don't want to imagine their Economy Class. My 2-cent's worth: I got to work and mingle with Indians in the Middle East. I think class distinction is very pronounced among them; people who have reached that "level" of qualifying as a flight attendant must be having some illusions of grandeur whirling in their heads, and that reflects on their attitude towards other people - "I'm a flight attendant, for Christ sake; I'm not your slave" kind of mentality. I've witnessed first-hand how Indian office workers look down on and berate their laborers or perceived low-status countrymen. It was par for their course.
I flew Jet Airways from Brussels to Newark back in 2014 and I thought it was a very decent airline. Economy class though. And I really liked the cabin crew, young nice smiling people.
I agree Jet is an absolute nightmare. I could make a movie about the mindbogglingly awful experience I had with them. Funny thing, I met a jumbo jet pilot once and told him about it, and the first question he asked is: 'Was it Jet Airways?' My partner an I flew Jet airways from Cochin to Mumbai on Jet Airways last August 2017 and then a plane change, again with Jet Airways to Bangkok. a dreadful experience on both flights, the cabins on both flights were less than clean, the F A had serious attitude problems, and we did not enjoy the food as our spirits had been depleted by the couldn't care less approach of the Cabin Crew. We canceled our return tickets . We will never ever fly with Jet again, the Airline is a disgrace.

You got it right. Jet airways is famous for arrogance and low standards. Staff is king and customer is under their favour. Many times had very worst experience flying this airways. Next time you take Vistara or best option would be taking Rajdhani express first class.

Jet Airways sucks!! They just cancelled our flight from Mumbai to Cochin sending us an e-mail asking if it was ok for us if they changed the time of departure. When we wrote back that it was not ok, we never heard from them again. No e-mail, no refund no nothing.
I am a frequent flyer with mostly Etihad and have been on a couple of Jet leased planes. Cannot remember anything bad or good specific. Etihad I am always happy with.

Josh, I respect how truthful you are and that you're not promoting these airlines and at the same time, if they deliver what they advertise, you'll tell that as well! Do they realize people are paying their hard earned money to fly?? While the airline's main goal is to fatten their bottom line, the customer wants quality! Anything less is a ripoff! Crew threatening passenger with “severe consequences” for filming, wow. Privacy can’t be an argument, because 1) they are watched by hundreds of cameras and satellites once they put their feet out of their home and 2) you blur their faces. The only reason they don’t like cameras is their fear of someone getting their low motivation and lack of customer-orientation on video. People like them can send whole airlines down the gutter, because passengers aren’t fools.
Well, I have made many flight and train videos, but luckily I haven't had the experience shown in this video so far. Some crew members welcome filming, others don't care and if someone doesn't feel comfortable to appear on video I blur the faces. But what they do here is simply outrageous, not even Air Koryo behaves like that.
Exactly, thanks for your reply, but in the end it comes down to the crew, I do what they say. I don't film the crew at all unless they give me their ok. Usually we have a little chat during the flight anyway about the videos, flying and different airlines :-). So I was very surprised to see what I saw in this video, I think that's totally unnecessary.

It is not about a real threat, but about their general behaviour. Behaving like that is entirely unprofessional, inappropriate and should not be tolerated at an airline or any other company. Josh is not a criminal, but a paying customer, so talk to him like to a customer. We're not in the jungle here, where we threaten each other.
he said in the video the airline know he would be filming and were interested in seeing the results. I'm sure there was some heads rolling when they got sight of that clip. Cabin crew have no right to be rude to passengers. There is a simple thing called customer service.

Etihad have basically ruined all the airlines they got involved with including Air Berlin (bankrupt), Baboo (bankrupt), Air Serbia (from legacy to pure LCC), Alitalia (epic failure) and sadly Jet Airways. The Etihad Group is a failed project. There are many more stronger players out there. Aviation business is tough.

Having flown on Jet multiple times due to work, I can honestly say your review is bang on. It's my least preferred domestic flight,and most of it is due to the crew's attitude. They were 'once' the best airline, waaaaaayyyy back... But they didn't hold on to the edge and just let it deteriorate. Very sad indeed. The food in economy class sucks as well. Referring to your video, I can't imagine having to look at a 'blank wall' for the duration of a flight! At least in economy, the window is next to you and you can look out, at whatever. Anything is better than looking at a blank wall. And your seat looked like a really tight fit. Sorry Jet, but this was a very fair review.
Yes, I agree. The window was behind the seat to where you had to look behind your shoulder to even look out of it, and even then you could only see a limit area in front of the plane and nothing directly to the side or behind.
Amazing how times have changed! These well documented experiences of other travellers is saving others to be cautious when and if they should do business with these companies! This kind of 1st hand andp visual information was literally not possible 9 years back when I took my trip to India via Jet Airways!

I know it’s a bit off topic, but I had to share my ‘nightmare’ business class trip from Sydney to Beijing last month with Capital Airways. When I sat down in my allotted seat and my eyes had adjusted to the gloom in biz class, I realised the interior of the cabin was filthy, ( my forearm stuck to the armrest - I don’t even want to think about what it was ! ) the back of the seats were all torn so all the magazines etc ended up on the floor. I went into the loo and washed and dried my hands ( and ‘that’ arm too ).
and sat in my seat again. However, someone must have been watching because I got some moisturiser out of my bag, and applied some to my hands and arms, before I finished a male staff member hurried over and told my husband (but not me) that I shouldn’t use so much of their hand lotion as it can cause allergies. If they were aware of that then why didn’t they remove it ? In any case I used my product, not theirs, which, by the way was a scungy disgusting half empty bottle, for everyone to use. Aside from that the staff all huddled at the front of the cabin and nervously stared at the passengers. Finally I would say - STAY AWAY from Capital Airways - their planes haven’t
been cleaned since the Pope was an altar boy. !!!

I used to travel in Air India, the crew welcomed me with a grin everytime as if "oh not him again." You can see broken seats, window frames coming off, worn out things, etc. However I liked their food everytime.

However, you are in for a big suprise if you are not following the procedures that you are supposed to...Thats for the safety of not only you but other passengers aswell....Id say most passengers often disagree with crew and their specific airline policies... Ive seen so many mothers refusing refusing e.g. to fasten their childrens seatbelt as they were sleeping... or refusing to put the armests down before landing etc. Passengers complaining about not having a specific drink availabld to them... Sth is broken and crew cannot fix it whilst airborne etc etc... so they are being shouted at by angry passengers. Not to mention fights between passengers or drunk passengers going crazy cause they are being refused another drink... Ive seen it all... These are just a few examples...

I flew Jet Airways Heathrow to Dehli and return in 2008, and I was very impressed. The flight attendants were especially pleasant and helpful. Obviously, during the intervening years things have gone seriously awry. If this is typical of Jet Airways standards now, they deserve to go under.

What’s funny...or not funny at all, is that they KNEW you were going to film. The management had every chance to at least do a little extra cleaning, fix the seats, and also tell the staff to at least pay someone with a following on TH-cam some extra courtesy.
They obviously don’t care, or actually think they service offering is acceptable...FOR BUSINESS CLASS!!!!
Totally agree, they could have communicated it at least with the crew since I was mentioning it a few days beforehand that I was gonna travel with them...
While you wont find my videos on YT im a FF and love watching content producers. I do some filming but generally for my own purposes / keepsakes. I often approach the airline i'll be flying with in advance and ask them for any recent changes to their filming policies onboard. I then find the FSM / FM / etc etc say Hi! & tell them i'll be vlogging the flight "if that's okay with you ( him/ her)" and ask them to ask the entire crew if anybody ( crew wise) doesn't want to be in the video and make clear to the FSM that I will ensure that anyone who doesn't want to be filmed will be blurred out if caught in footage although i'll try to make sure they aren't captured at all. I'm sure you do something along the same lines from the sound of it.
Something that I have found to be a godsend is the following - keep the email/ tweet/ fb tagged post from the airline themselves saved on your phone and immediately available to pull up ( screenshots of it or something like that) & show the head of the cabin crew for your flight where they have said that they will look forward to a copy of the video blah blah blah. This tends to overcome any issues when the FSM can see that the big bosses are aware and happy for you to be doing what you are doing. Only once have I had a FSM point out that corporate said 'please say hello to the senior cabin crew and check they are okay with it' who then said he wasnt and he'd take my camera off of me if I filmed. I simply pointed out that he'd ignored the last bit of the sentence where they'd also said words to the effect of 'our crews are used to it and we at XXXXXXXX love our 5 minutes of fame and we encourage them to get involved or help you out where they can' took his name and spoke to the airline afterwards.
We are all human we all have off days but in this case it seems the crew in video went super harsh & I think were out of order. It's not like vlogging travel videos is new and you're certainly not the 1st person to film onboard an Indian carrier so imho she was out or line or at least acted to harshly. Use it as a learning experience and keep any corporate or head office comms you have to hand if you experience it again and hopefully my trick will work for you as it has for me.

Lovely unbiased review. I thought I was the only one who experienced such service in Jet Airways but I'm encouraged to see the reviewer also had the same issue. I made a decision last year to fly less with Jet airways after being treated badly consistently and I'm letting go of my silver status with Jet privilege, who have devalued the miles for redemption by a whopping 100%.

I'm amazed by how gracious you remained, despite of. If that was Business Class, I don't want to imagine their Economy Class. My 2-cent's worth: I got to work and mingle with Indians in the Middle East. I think class distinction is very pronounced among them; people who have reached that "level" of qualifying as a flight attendant must be having some illusions of grandeur whirling in their heads, and that reflects on their attitude towards other people - "I'm a flight attendant, for Christ sake; I'm not your slave" kind of mentality. I've witnessed first-hand how Indian office workers look down on and berate their laborers or perceived low-status countrymen. It was par for their course.

I flew Jet Airways from Brussels to Newark back in 2014 and I thought it was a very decent airline. Economy class though. And I really liked the cabin crew, young nice smiling people.
I agree Jet is an absolute nightmare. I could make a movie about the mindbogglingly awful experience I had with them. Funny thing, I met a jumbo jet pilot once and told him about it, and the first question he asked is: 'Was it Jet Airways?' I have no idea why etihad partners with them, it diminishes etihad in my view. Absolutely sub standard.

My partner an I flew Jet airways from Cochin to Mumbai on Jet Airways last August 2017 and then a plane change, again with Jet Airways to Bangkok. a dreadful experience on both flights, the cabins on both flights were less than clean, the F A had serious attitude problems, and we did not enjoy the food as our spirits had been depleted by the couldn't care less approach of the Cabin Crew. We canceled our return tickets . We will never ever fly with Jet again, the Airline is a disgrace.

Jet airways was my very first flight experience.I was traveling from Colombo to Mumbai.My experience was not bad.Though its a small flight , cabin crew was nice.Nice food as well....!!
Due to such unprofessional attitude, this airline has been closed.
Jet Airways sucks!! They just cancelled our flight from Mumbai to Cochin sending us an e-mail asking if it was ok for us if they changed the time of departure. When we wrote back that it was not ok, we never heard from them again. No e-mail, no refund no nothing.
So how did you claim your money back?
That is not possible that you would not any refund. I am sure.

I experienced the same situation 4 years back from the crew and from then I stopped taking jet airways ..now the company went into liquidation.
I am a frequent flyer with mostly Etihad and have been on a couple of Jet leased planes. Cannot remember anything bad or good specific. Etihad I am always happy with.

No he is right, no flight attendant should treat a passenger like that, a food prep galley in THAT condition and the broken seat features is unacceptable

Not really surprised to see the state of business class after hearing that Jet Airways is running out of money to operate. If you want to fly to India, take a non-Indian airline......

Actually, there is not one airline from India worth flying twice!
Hopefully this will change one day in the near future as India deserves much better.

I am an indian and I have never flown with both indian and jet airways so I don't know how good or bad they are but honestly I am disappointed with jet airways
