This video made me realize that in string instruments, the electric bass is not just "tuned percussion" but an instrument all to itself. The cello compares to the violin in the same way! Wonderful!
This brings back great memories from og Charles and the old if Billie Jean was the hardest song in the world. What an improvement. The editing is great as always!

The MOST underrated instrument in music! So incredibly underutilized in favor of the same old guitar we've heard a million times before. I wish there was more bass in music these days. Whenever I hear a song with a prominent bassline, I'm always impressed and it's pretty much always fantastic.
Charles, I seriously can’t get enough from you. So inspiring, talented, technical, and musical. I hope your name will be in musical history books for centuries to come.

Charles my friend, let me tell you an anecdote. It was in 1982-1983, I can't remember exactly. Color TV had only just arrived. We had a show called “Musique Plus”. And I clearly remember the host saying: “Look closely guys, this guy's name is Mikael Jackson, he's going to be the next pop star!”. Then, the Billie Jeans video played and was seen for the first time in Montreal. I could boast of having known the King of Pop before he was known to anyone. Awesome video once again. It is fabulous! I can't stop watching your creative videos!! I have been wanting to learn how to play the bass guitar, but I will probably never be able to. I keep trying though, and am still enthusiastic. Being a grandma, I'd like to play the base for my one-year-old grandchild to encourage him to play a musical instrument when he gets older. The cello, violin and double bass are all part of the same family. The electric bass is basically a fretted DB with pick ups............
As a photographer I have often said that it is not the camera, but the person behind the camera. Same goes for the bass.
"Just tuned percussion" implies that drums are not a tuned instrument.
