5 Month update: I don't notice the narrow tread when walking around on both dirt and on the pavement and haven't had any major slips. The lightweight nature of these shoes makes spinning feel easier. Pedaling the shoes with stiff soles helps more with the power transfer and I feel like I pedal more efficiently. They are surprisingly easy to wash with mild laundry detergent and water. In order to negate the narrowness, I slightly loosen the boa dials for a better feel. Overall I'm very much enjoying these shoes! My rating: 9/10 (minus 1 star for narrowness and slightly narrow tread).

your 26.7 cm and went for size 44. Aren't they too big? From Shimano chart you should fit a 43.. I'm 27.7 cm and usually get a size 43. What should I order, size 45?!

XC5 not as stiff, more comfortable for walking, and new ones don't have laces. Also cheaper!

With Shimano 43 size my toes touch so I'm definitely a 44. I can't tell you what to get but do you normally wear 44? These shoes are very narrow too.
