      Deuteronomy 18:9-12
      New International Version
      Occult Practices
9 When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.

I'm an INTJ, I've never understood why people think INTJ's cant stand not being right. I guess in the sense that yeah I really dont like not being right. But on the fliip side of this, I'm very open to listening to other peoples opinions, if its logical and makes sense then I'll change my own opinion. I'm more intersted in the truth than being 'right'. I'd give up almost anything for the truth.

No. 2... bullshit. As an INTJ i seek after truth and efficiency. I am not often proven wrong on a factual basis, because i review from so many angles and directions prior to solidifying my opinion. There have been occasions that incoming information is wrong or changes and therefore given the new or previously unknown information I am happy to change my opinion or view. While this is extremely uncommon it does occur.

I tend to agree with this - I am an INTJ type, and although I hate playing into the stereotype, I will try my best not to. I don't believe that I "hate being wrong" or "will defend my view at all cost". I feel that if someone has an argument and they bring the facts, then I will be open to learn. But because I actually took the time and did the research, it's not going to be a quick win. They would need to actually structure an argument and change my mind. Truth and efficiency is ultimately the goal.

INTJ's on the other are (suprisingly) human beings with emotions, repressing said emotion demands that they must vent eventually. INTJs strategy to socialising is to be as reserved as possible until a reliable bond can be built before they can become open with a person. What the commentor described is in line-not against- being an INTj.

This feels more like the perception of the intj oddities than how we actually feel or approach issues. On the surface all these resonate, but some (like we must be right) are more about how we come off and not how we actually are. Yes, I am almost always sure my recommendations are the right path, but if someone brings something better to the table then great! I much prefer we make the right choice as opposed to winning an argument.

I wonder if this is something that changes as we grow older. When I was younger, I was absolutely mortified when someone corrected me about something. Either they were wrong, in which case - how dare they, or I was wrong, in which case - how could I have made such a stupid mistake? Either way I exploded with anger. These days I make a conscious effort to stay calm and rational in these moments as I realize that it isn't about me, flexing my skills and pampering my feelings, but about arriving at the best possible outcome. So I'll let others explain their point and try to really consider where they're coming from. And I no longer feel horrible if someone comes up with a better solution than I did.

I think it's because most everyone else they talk to is very selfish and going only for what they want and we throw them off by being neutral.

being a Senior Psych and Bio student (wanting to major into Neuroscience in the future), it's strange to witness and understand how the Myer-Briggs test can depict a person's personality so well. After having done it in class, i thought it was n more than a rough estimate that was fairly accurate but as i do more research i find out that 'holy crap, i really AM a INTJ', it's quite refreshing honestly. Refreshing in the sense that there's a unique label that can rationally explain one's personality instead of judging them or needing to complete multiple (what seem like riddled) conversations with someone just to find out what kind of dog they like and why.

Same. I have been wondering why I have to use emojis "like a teenager". I mean, I'm in the middle of my 40ies, I try to make it make sense. My current working theory is that I know a) about my bluntness (which I see as "saying it in a neutral way" - but I keep getting informed that I'm wrong about that) and b) the general difficulties of written language which doesn't transport non-verbal communication. So, I think my overuse of (mostly) smiley emojis are a safeguarding measure to inform people that I mean well and can be reasoned with if they don't like what I have to say.
The reason I don't feel the need to post an emoji here might be that I imagine we're kind of on the same page here. You will know how to read and understand this. Plus I don't know you in real life, I don't have to make sure you don't hate me in the future...

Cause I care for people's feelings and try to understand via how they are from what I know and basic human psychology. But also very critical. If someone is telling me something to do if it is flawed or wrong then I'll call that part out. Unless I'm completely out of my field of knowledge. I feel somewhat awkward discussing this, haha. Some time ago, I came across this type of personality classification, which initially felt like just another horoscope to me. However, my curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to give it a try. That was three years ago, and almost by chance, I find myself taking the test again each year, and it still shows me as an INTJ.
I had never really identified with anyone before, not even with fictional characters. But as I delved into the traits of this personality, I strangely found myself resonating with it.

This is crap . An INTJ doesn’t mind being proven wrong if the facts support it. They are trying to find the most efficient solution and welcome input that supports this goal. They will readily jettison their solution is you can show them a better way. Obv this guy didn’t do enough homework before pooping out this vid.

The only issue I see in this video is that you seem to forget we are intuitive, you keep mentioning we lack intuition when in reality we have the N in there for a reason. I will see the logic and reason in everything, but we also pick up on a lot intuitively, that’s why people think we’re psychic. Because I’ll be like “oh this person is not acting how they usually do” or we’ll notice a specific behavior that demonstrates anxiety, sadness, ect… and tell when something is wrong, but we usually approach that with logic and reasoning. We also don’t like sharing unsolicited advice so we’ll keep that to ourselves and tread carefully.

#2 is complete BS...... we don't care who is right or wrong, but to come to a balance on who has the most logical and reasonable solution or argument. I will gladly back down and admit defeat if the other person provides references, facts or links towards their argument, if I don't believe them on their word then they are wrong as I like to provide links, facts and references with my argument if I need be. And yes, I dismiss feelings in an argument, feelings has no place in an argument IMO.

I've always thought that everyone should take therapy, but now I'm talking particularly to intjs, specifically those ones with strong maladaptive daydreaming: GET IT TOGETHER, GET HELP, cause if you don't you're gonna LOOSE it. #1 is only partially correct. We don't expect perfection, but we do seek excellence, and if someone can't do what they said they could, we hate that. If they said they didn't know how to do something initially, but it is within their scope of responsibility, we expect you to learn how, or get help from the appropriate expert to complete your tasks within the project. We expect you to make the effort. We know that accidents happen, we try to minimize these, we can forgive accidents, but we don't forgive bad choices, or dishonesty.
Also, yeah, we f***ing HATE micromanagement. We hate to be on the receiving end, and hate having to do it ourselves. It's insulting to us.
#2, actually, we LOVE being proven wrong because that is how we learn, but you have to PROVE it beyond a shadow of a doubt. We don't really like arguments, but we love an honest debate because the goal isn't about who is right, but rather what is right.

I'm finding a fair amount of flaws with this. While INTJs can be stubborn, we often find new information, even if it's contrary to our held beliefs, as stimulating and worth investigating. If an INTJ believed something for a long time and is proven wrong, they will research it to see if they're actually wrong, and if the facts confirm this, they reevaluate their position and change accordingly. This is also true with methods as discussed in number 3. If we've been doing something and there's a more efficient way to do so, we may need a bit of time to adjust, but if we see it truly is more efficient, we'll adopt it. Additionally, INTJs are VERY intuitive; it's our 1st function. Logic is a fall back and it supports our intuition. I feel this is better suited for ISTJs.

For example, the fact that we keep our emotions bottled up inside MIGHT result in some having angry outbursts, but I never have angry outbursts BECAUSE I keep any anger bottled up. #2 I do appreciate corrections as long as it has been delievered in a respective manner and not base on a bias opinion. If so I will really argue my point 😂 So many people around me are really bias with their opinion and its also a pet peeve for me.
    3. Another spot on! I thought it was odd that I cant enjoy what is mainstream to everyone. I don't appreciate social norms and I like things that are different. Like for instance I like reading psychological books rather than watching on tiktok. (Which i dont have on my phone)
I also know what I want and I only let few people in my world. I have standard for people I let in my life.
    4. The key factors 😭
I am known in class up to my work how quiet and nonchalant I am but honestly I talk a lot with the right group of people. Its just that Id rather not speak and end up offending them for being too direct. Our head would also often tell me to speak in positive manner which Im having a hard time to because my way of speaking is unfiltered and my tone (which is my natural tone but often misinterpreted by ppl who dont know me)
I also gets frustrated when I cant put into work what I had in mind which makes me feel exhausted.
    Like simple sketching
Or doing spreadsheet and not being able to figure our the right formula etc.

    1. This is spot on for me!
I always think why other people act the way they do. And I get really agitated when people do my pet peeves. When they do unlogical things. For instance, my coworkers would be too noisy and when called out they had the audacity to feel offended. Thats why im mot really close to my coworkers as I cant tolerate those immature behavior.
I also get agitated easily when our new "Team head" micromanage every single thing we do. Our previous head (now resigned) would pass work to us and will trust that we will comply on or before due date. Which makes me happy hence I always submit my report before the said deadline. But now I dont even want to touch my spreadsheet. Makes me want to rebel and not follow whatever this new head wants from me. But its not right so I had to suck it up.

Even when my husband was trying to murder me in my sleep but I woke up for it, I just told him why he was a dumb sh... and what would be the consequences for him if it had worked, and why, and then went back to sleep. If someone has standards for me I tend to desire to, attain at least that level if not beyond and if I can't do it yet, I work toward it. As long as it is achievable. This is extremely, extremely accurate in most areas and I am surprised to be so well understood.
    I will provide 2 corrections.
#1 as an INTJ, I prioritise the truth over my own ego. I don’t care to admit that I am wrong instantly.
    And
#2 INTJ’s are more intuitive than logically, technically.
We use our intuitions to instantly scan our mental tensors of stored universal laws and facts, but it’s not even really a conscious process. For example, instead of logically thinking about a maths problem and working it out. I usually say it out loud a bunch of times until I know the exact answer or a very close-to-perfect analogy which will lead me directly to the right answer. I do this so I don’t have to consciously think very much. It’s a very subtle distinction, but we use our introverted intuition to solve things in this way, BEFORE we engage our external thinking. You can prove this by noticing that INTJ’s can work out complex problems in their head without speaking out loud, very seamlessly and reliably, despite the fact that we only have TE, not TI (external thinking, we need to talk out loud and hear our own speech, to create the loop necessary for actual, conscious, new logical thinking).
Everyone can still do everything, but this is what makes INTJ’s very distinct in their preferred mode of being, compared with ISTJs (..ew 😉) INTPs and ENTJs 😊
We ‘intuit’, more than we ‘think’.
We would prefer to study the laws of a topic and internalise them so that we don’t have to think to solve a future problem based on them; we prefer to solve it in advance and just use our intuition to recall.
We’re also prone to type 1 errors and in extreme cases, magical thinking in this way. See, Josh Nash for an extreme example of this. 👍
    To be clear, this

I’m glad you pointed this out, as this is the piece that makes INTJ such a rare personality type in my opinion: thinking/logic + intuition.
I think, analyze, discern, and make determinations ALL the time. But I intuit almost as much. I don’t think I could separate the two functions.
