Great idea. Looks like you're using a simple shopvac for fumes? do you filter the output? send it outside the house? Depends on what material you cut? Thanks!
Thanks! Yes that is a shopvac. No filter other than what is in the shopvac. I probably should take more care with the fumes, but I don't use it enough to be that elaborate (for my level of laziness...) ;)
Thanks! No, I used the Makita router that is usually attached to the same CNC machine. (Using the "milling" capabilities of the machine.) Edit: BTW, I did try to laser it, but the beam is not powerful enough to cut even dark acrylic that thick.
@@ldboehm I used a 3/32" 2-flute bit with a spindle speed of ~12000 and a feed rate of 762 mm/min. I don't remember the step-down I used, but I'm sure I took it easy. If I remember correctly, I used step-downs similar to what I did for aluminum. Give it another try - and good luck!

Nice Job. Seems more effective than building a huge box around it. Did you use the laser to create the acrylic shapes?

@@sloscotty Everytime I try to cut acrylic I fail.. melts and ugh...

@@sloscotty I'm new to CNC. Been 3d printing for years, time to step into something new
