Its a bit hassle when the timer is fixed by someone who knows and suddenly you got power supply disruption that makes the timer runs off depending on the power cut-off duration. Now i dont have to call in the expert to help me fix the timer.

Very well explained and demo video many thanks .Can these timer switches overheat if in continual use or is a slightly mild warmth to the housing of the device, a sign of faulty device or maybe the wall socket might be the cause especially if wiring is old in the house? . I'm just a little bit worried than when I'm out, if it overheats for whatever reason, be it a faulty device or faulty wall socket / older house wiring, or maybe just the device has lived out it's lifespan ? . Also how many years you think the device lasts before it should be replaced with a new one?

Really well explained ....thank you for a clear and informative vid!
I have 2 of these the very same as the one you're using but the actual 'clock' itself has stopped working on one of them. I just wondered whether you think I'd be able to take it apart and repair it at all? Or is it just time to ditch it and buy another perhaps?
Thanks for any info/suggestions you may have on this.

I've never opened one up, but I guess it would all be cogs and gears and not something that I'd bother doing. For the price of then I'd buy new! Saying that, it could be something as simple as the switch not working?

Hi and thanks for getting back to me.
Lol, yes, in view of how much they cost perhaps I was being a bit silly to consider repairing!
I just thought if there was perhaps a quick fix it would save more waste going to landfill ...or wherever this type of waste does go .. :)
Anyway, have just picked up a set of 2 Eveready for £7 from B&M so I'm good to go!!
      Thanks again

I use one of these for Christmas lights to be on between 5-10pm. During the day when appliances are off but the timer is still on at the mains….. does that still use up a lot of electricity to keep the timer moving or not really?

Are these safe to use on an oil heater when away from home for a while, e.g. when on holiday ? P.S. Your detailed explanation of how it works will help me for sure, if I do get one.

    • @charlieshooter

I dont see why there should be an issue, as long as the oil heater is in good working order and placed in a safe place. Some of them have their own timers on them?

Silly question but will this plug work everyday it's plugged in say if I was going on holiday for a week and I wanted the lights to come on from 5pm to 12pm will it do that for 7 days or just the one day?

    • @charlieshooter

It will do that until you unplug it! It just keeps turning and is a 24hr clock.

  • @Thesrisampath
    @Thesrisampath 4 ปีที่แล้ว

what will happen after 24hr cycle.. do we want to reset or will it work continuously.? i need to use this to switch-off a circuit at night time (6pm to 4am everyday) and rest of the time (day time) shall be switch-on.

    • @charlieshooter

That would work perfectly for that. It works continuously. After 24hrs it just starts again.
