    this would be more fascinating if you did this.
    1 :show intermediaries
    2: show extinction event
    3 show convergent evolution happening in new phyla rising through extinction event
    example: maybe vertabrates are wiped out and chondroyhthian evolve terrestrial adaptions so you have land sharks becoming like herbevores and carnivores
    example cetacean are wiped out and penguins evolve and diversify in to whales
    example echnioderms like sea cucumbers evolve a new type of fish like abilities.
    because this giant leap from one species to the next without context or showing the reasons is very dull. I'd concentrate on fewer species and really breaking down the phylogeny in new unexpected ways.
    also go through the speciation of closer related taxa rather than jumping around by geography
    in other words this speculative evolution should follow a similar order as your real scientific phylogeny
    show progression of time rather with speciation contained within each era.

    The terrestrial Cephalopods also has been touched in Future is Wild with the Squibbon and Megasquid. Also Protothelace: Swampus 2.0, only difference is the number of modified tentacles. Still a cool idea, though.

    • @henrykkeszenowicz4664
      @henrykkeszenowicz4664 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Protothelace might be like a basal land cephalopod. Prehistoric walking fish has evolved into land vertebrates, but we still have some walking fish and amphibians. It's not impossible for a basal relative of swampus to survive in a much later period.

    I don't know how there are so many giant insects in a world that seems so arid. The key to giant insects is lots of oxygen, usually from vast forests. I do love the creativity with the terrestrial squids and octopi. I would expect they would start developting some sort of skeleton as protection, maybe a kind of shell around their organs, or an internal cartilage skull.

    • @uncannyvalley2350
      @uncannyvalley2350 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Most oxygen comes from the oceans champ, shallow seas would be all that's needed

    • @spinolophosaurus8736

      Why would creatures be like starfish and soft bodied

    • @Shaun_Jones
      @Shaun_Jones 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Oxygen is not the only consideration for insects getting large. High oxygen levels do increase the maximum size they can grow to, but competitors are the biggest limiting factor. Some arthropods already grow quite large, such as the foot-wide bird-eating spider, which is still the largest spider that has ever lived. On a future Antarctica, which has been basically sterilized by ice, I could see bugs taking advantage and growing to fill niches.

    I liked this very much, slightly more even than the future is wild 200 my later. Since your version of the tectonic plates allows for more life and therefore creativity. I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I must agree I don't see that many large insects being found in the arid places. There probably isn't much oxygen in the desserts (in the future is wild they call it the rainshadow desert) and that's a key for insects to get big. There definitely would be insects and similar creatures but the only ones that could be able to get that big would be the ones in the ocean or the forests (called the Northern forest in the future is wild, which is also home to the land squids which I really like). You have very creative videos tho and even if they aren't always the most accurate they're very fun to watch and I kinda wish you did more videos on future Earth evolution :) I must also ask, if the oceans of this version of Earth also affected by the "Hypercanes" of the Future is Wild's earth

    • @goodluckgorsky3413
      @goodluckgorsky3413 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      One other note is that I have kindof a gripe with the land squid of Africa. A continent like this would most definitely have a lot more water fertility than land fertility except for the northern forests so those forests would really be the only place a land squid would be needed or beneficial and again, for some of these the body plans changing so drastically does not make much sense. Even though it has been 200 million years, if a fundamental change in an organism's body plan isn't needed it likely won't happen. But again, I recognize this is all just for fun. I definitely have some gripes with some of these creatures, the only reason these aren't realistic is that there's so many creatures that evolve traits that they have absolutely no use for, for example a clam has no real use to move since it's perfectly fine being immoble and filling that niche. I like how the squid has filled almost every niche, it reminds me of the silver swimmers of the future is wild

    I really enjoy your videos about evolution, bc they present origin of many species and relations between them in very accesible way. But your predictions about future are unreal, ridicolous and out of logic. I'm sorry telling this but in my opinion you lose much of your reliability after uploading videos like that.

    • @Anthönypain
      @Anthönypain  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it is mostly because of the faith of people, it's probably bad to imagine future animals for some religious ideologies. Most people don't trust the actual evolution, so the future evolution..
      And other people think it's not accurate, and they are right. But it's not "scientific" videos, they just have to watch and enjoy

    But 2:54 I mean 200 million years is a long time, but if this even possible? How would this evolve? 200 millions years ago, all tetrapods were still that tetrapods and have been for more than 300 million years. I just dont see what trait this could possible evolve from... maybe some weird trunk like appendage that evolved into more limbs, but I question the possibility of that
