One of our favorite trails as well! Great show! When we rode the trail a couple of years ago, there was an alligator about 12 foot long or longer in the pond toward the south end of the trail.
At the end of your video, it moved right into a Lectric Ebike ad 😂 Great video, Scott! But I missed the "ENOUGH about Columbus...we've got a TRAIL to ride!" Your brief history and highlight of the trail's town is a great addition since those days. Yet another bucket list, though...looks like a great trail.
Thanks, man… yeah, digging up some offbeat aspects to the history of the towns that I visit has become one of my favorite parts of the process. Initially, I wasn’t thinking of doing that at all. I’ve also added trying to get a bite to eat somewhere…usually a very unhealthy one. 😂 but oh well… 😆
I’m almost 8 hours from this trail but I would so love it. I love bike riding AND I love ALL your videos!! I DO have an E-Bike and I love my bike. It is an Aventon, She is Himalayan Pink and I need to name her. 🥰🚴🚴🚴
Beautiful trail right until the end. I want you to eat lunch on my break, not be lunch! Thanks for sharing this oldie but goodie. Missed the 360 video. Enjoyed. 👍
Great looking trail. Enjoyed the old structures depicting the history of the area. Beautiful Great Blue Heron beside the river at one point. Thanks for sharing the video. I see you’re getting closer to 3000 subscribers.
Yes, you spotted that bird! Now, today I would’ve stopped the bike and tried to get a really good shot of that Heron. But back then I didn’t know any better… I just kept riding! 😬
😬 The city has been renting these bikes out for a while now and they are getting pretty beat up. And my brakes were super loud and squeaky. But don’t worry, I will not judge all E bikes by this one… 😂
Finally! Just found your channel! Finally, someone in our area (we are in TN) with content for us southerners. Tired of watching out west, pot smoking riders?? Seems dangerous. Love your Godly outlook and quirky humor( banana pudding milk) lol! I look forward to watching more. Would love to put together a multi day, multi trail ride adventure of close trails. If you ever get the chance , Southern Illinois has an awesome rail trail(fine gravel) it’s a long one littered with small towns. Tunnel Hill State trail. Keep riding!
Welcome aboard! And thanks for the kind remarks. Right now I'm still working a full-time job but I look forward to branching out even more in retirement. I'll have to add Illinois to my list! Thanks again...
Sometimes it is cool to stumble across old footage like that. I did that recently with the trip that ended with our friend's van underwater, when the river unexpectedly rose to 17.5 feet above flood stage while we were on a week-long paddle. That story had been told a million times, but I thought that I had lost the footage, which dates back to a few years before I started this crazy TH-cam channel!
@@joyfultrails That was a crazy trip from the beginning! And I didn't even get any footage of the tornado warned storm & flooding that we had to load our gear in, and then drive through water in the street that was coming up in the floorboards of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. That Jeep never smelled the same after that!
For being your first video, that was actually very good, then i remembered that you are a pro at this , so I take that back. Just kidding. When I saw you on that e bike, i said, Oh no! Scott has turned to the dark side, introducing Scott Vader, tempted by the dark side with the double digit speeds, speeding by unsuspecting lower life forms and ease of pedaling provided by the e as in evil, bikes.
@@joyfultrails Oh, no. Please I am in my 70's and don't take return fire very well. I will have to borrow a Kevlar vest when I watch that video, gotta keep my eyes peeled.
Watched this a few days back on the tv and didn’t go to my phone to comment. I was originally going to say: Do we get a part 2 to see if you got eaten by the gator 4 years ago? 😂
I have never posted a comment on your videos, but I have enjoyed watching them. I couldn’t help but ask you ….is it true that you’re the Bachman of Bachman Turner Overdrive? . Inquiring minds want to know. 😁
You may be a little young for this but if you were watching the TV news on WRBL-TV in 1977, you'd have seen me on TV as I was a reporter at channel 3 and a news anchor on Sunday evenings..."Dave Stanton, Eyewitness News." I left in 1979. Dick McMichael was my boss and the anchor of the 6:00pm news daily for many, many years. That was way before there was a trail system in Columbus. The whole city is a much better place today. By the by, the sports anchor on WRBL when I was there was a young Phil Scoggins!
We now know through data what many of us suspected from the very beginning. That we were being lied to … to our masked faces. Will probably never know the truth about any of it. We’re still struggling to recover. Those high prices you pay at the grocery store every week are because of the free money that was printed and given away because people were forcibly and unnecessarily removed from their jobs. Many people lost family businesses that had been in their families for generations. And they never came back. There was also a desire to achieve a certain political result from all of the fear and anxiety and the dystopian separation as we walked around and looked at each other from behind masks and walked one way down grocery store aisles. Churches have still not recovered. We found out that the government can shut churches down at the drop of a hat. Schools have not recovered. The psychological and educational damage that has been done to our school children… We have no way of knowing how extensive that’s going to end up being. I’m not saying the whole thing was phony and that nobody died. I do think the death numbers were horrifically exaggerated. My problem is not with C 19. My problem is with the response to C 19.

😳 whoa. I don’t know what I would’ve done! 😂
We took a quick photo of it, and got out of there lol 😅 we do not like reptiles especially alligators 🐊 😮
Your channel has come a long way . Look forward to your posts .
Thank you!
I will definitely take my fishing rod with me on this trail!
I saw lots of fishin’ goin’ on!

Great video and thank you for giving us another trail and area i would have never considered going to. It’s on the calendar. 👍👍
Great! Stay tuned for part two next week. It really is a great trail.
Thanks for posting! I ride that trail constantly and have for 10 years and it just never gets old!
That is awesome! It’s a great trail.

One thing that hasn’t changed…my fear of wild animals. 😂

My daughter and I ride this trail a lot. We love it and it is one of our trails that we return to quite often. Thanks for the great video!
That’s cool. Awesome that you get to share that activity with your daughter. Good memories. 🙂
Welcome to the family. Never go against the family. LOL. Nice Trail

“Willie” good video. Just discovered you. Thanks for the ride!
Welcome!
Looking forward to finding out if a gator had lunch in part 2. 👍
Sunday night at 7! 😮

Nice trail! Maybe you can do the Murfreesboro to Nashville greenway..?
Thanks… maybe I can add that one to my list.

I do not believe we are related. If we are, I missed out on some $$$ 😂…
You just need to call him up and tell him that y’all are first cousins six times removed. 😁👍🏻 RTR!

Wow… I was in Phenix City in the 70s so I probably saw you on television. Small world!
I remember that year when we lost over a million people to the little scare. And we're still losing 100's each week.

I'm sure you have at least 20 thumbs down.
Pretty much every action that was taken, everything we were told turned out to be BS. A lot of us suspected as much at the time.
