@@cizzie219 Indeed. It’s just rural / countryside life.
Even if you compare the DPRK to South Korea, there have been multiple escapees that risked their lives again, but to return.
      Why?
      Out of loneliness.
As, even escapees who are very happy, they’ve talked about how city and modern life is quite lonely.
As even when you had nothing, you had each other. People cared about one another, there was more time.
Obviously, for most they’d still prefer not being in the DPRK, but still I think it’s quite important to realize.
As with human society, its exceptionally hard to go backwards.
No matter what city you go to, in any country in the world, there’s a loneliness that’s talked about.
Not being physically alone, but loss of connections.

@@user-ne2zx3nd2k 🔘 Russians are not an ethnicity. If Russians were an ethnicity, they would not call anyone but themselves Russians. But Russian call "Русские- Russian" everyone who lives in Russia and even against their will. Moreover, Russians call the entire population of each of those 14 republics that seceded from the USSR "Русские - Russians". So Russians are not an ethnicity, Russian is are imperial ideology by Kremlin power.
🔘It is not for nothing that in the Russian language itself the word "Русские-Russians" means an adjective, not a noun, while for all ethnic groups in the Russian language there are only a noun.
The thing is that in Russia both words are used to denote the entire population of Russia, and not its individual groups. These are actually synonyms, because now in Russia the slogan "we are of different nationalities, but we are all Russians (Русские)" - is popular kremlin's propaganda. That is, it is meant that they are all "Rусские - Russians" and not just "Россияне - Russians". This is especially emphasized when someone from of the indigenous peoples of Russia is fighting or dying in the war for Russia. This is the Kremlin's standard method: aggressive assimilation of the indigenous peoples so that there are none left. So that they all become only "Русские - Russians", or disappear.
🔘French and English have different rules than Russian. In the Russian language, only a word that is a noun can mean nationality. Not an adjective. Therefore, it is not at all correct to compare the rules of other languages and the Russian language, because it is not correct for the Russian language.
🔘 It is not for nothing that most peoples of the world do not have a separate meaning for the words "Россиянин - Russian" and "Русский - Russian". Because such a meaning does not exist in principle. After all, these words are synonyms and they mean the same thing. If Moscow did not intend to assimilate indigenous peoples, it would not call them either of these two words. She would call them "citizens of Russia of such and such nationality" or simply "citizens of Russia."
