    Just made this tonight. I have 3 kids, I home reluctantly from college. It's hard to please everyone. My wife likes to eat healthy. This hit all the marks. Used the water not the egg wash. We had air fried fries from the foodi and the Louisiana chicken from the Ninja grill! One tender left over for my pugs. They loved it. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. Really enjoy watching and eating!!

      Meant to say one home from college. I have 2 teen girls too. Talk about hard to please. This meal was gone in 15 mins. 😄 My dad purchased the Ninjas and was ready to get cooking. Unfortunately he passed before he could use them. With the quarantine we been cooking so much. I'm so thankful he purchased them. Quite a bit of meaning with each meal prepared. Thank you for the inspiration and ideas!

I am so hoping I"ll be able to make wonderfully enjoyable meals for my "family"- I think this one should elicit a few deserved squeals... which shall be much to my delight(and hopefully your's) !...This was pure delight...Thanks Jelly Double O...(I've never used batter or many of the things you do...but if I get it in my Double O notebook...it's a sure thing
    for part of my everyday life in MN...I'm very enthusiastic about knowing we'll all enjoy
    the whole process of the meal.... it is just what I need to bring into the "family" life
    from my house... This is a gift.. Thanks!

    Recently got a Ninja Foodi XL grill (the 5 in 1). I followed John's instruction on the video this afternoon----and yes!!!! absolutely crispy, juicy, and perfectly cooked chicken thighs!!! Man...these were good. My wife is not a big fried chicken fan but she scarfed these down like there was no tomorrow....happy wife...happy life!--and the whole cook was about 15 minutes (and yes temp was 165)....can you believe that? Thank you Mr John for this video!!

    This Air Fryer Batter is a game changer - I've made delicious air fried chicken with the regular mix, but you have to spray it with oil, and spray it evenly - kinda a big ol' mess. Thanks, John. Hey John,
    You amazed me again. We usually buy broasted chicken and freeze it for meals once a week. When we first get it, the breading and skin are on the soggy side, but I rewarm it from frozen in a NuWave oven that gets it crispy without drying the meat. This takes 30 minutes in the Nuwave oven from frozen. After reheating, you can see all of the grease that came out of the chicken. You cooked the chicken from scratch with no oil and it took only a couple minutes more than it takes me to rewarm frozen broasted chicken breasts that are full of oil. The two advantages of air frying chicken that stand out for me are 1) the chicken isn't cooked in oil, and 2) buying broasted chicken from the store is a lot more expensive than buying fresh chicken. Another thing we buy from the store that isn't cheap is broasted potatoes. Have you tried making air fried potato wedges from fresh potatoes. I have tried making oven baked potato wedges numerous time in the oven and air fried, and they are never as good as the broasted potatoes.

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have posted a link to potatoes wedges I did below...they were good but I have never tried the broasted so I'm not sure how they compare...thanks you for watching!

    Thanks John, good videos and good recipes. Foodi Grill is the best purchase I've made this year with a tiny kitchen in a studio apt. One device that can air fry and grill with a 510f grate, with no smoke? Not possible. Except it is and it works fantastic. Massive space saver too as this and an instant pot for slow cook/rice/pressure cook and your golden with 2 appliances. Oh the pro was very much worth it (got it on fathers day sale for 360 with all the accessories from foodi direct) to stick the probe into my chicken, set the temp, done. Quick tip for ya, don't use cooking spray to coat the pan if it has chemical propellant, they are bad for the non stick coating. I don't have an oil mister yet so I use avocado spray on the food but brush on canola oil on the pans.

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks and glad you enjoy the videos...i love the grill and think it is a very worthy indoor grilling device... and it air fries!!! I now use Avocado Oil in a pump spray bottle from Pam that does not have a propellant but I do have many of the aerosol type cans I've got to use up... but thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!!!

    This chicken looks beautiful. I’m looking for something mainly for air frying. But I’m considering the Foodi grill because of the added benefit of the grilling option. Based on its air fry feature, how does it compare to pod air fryers or oven style air fryers? There seems to be so many options on the market!

      I forgot to add another question. Will any of your air fryer appliances cook a smallish 10-11 pound turkey? I have a Nuwave oven with an extender which I use for cooking turkeys. I use it without the extender for cooking every week. It’s 4 years old and I’m not sure how much longer it will hold up.

    Thighs should be cooked to 180 deg F. Dark meat has more moisture and connective tissue which won't be broken down at 165. While safe to eat, they will be chewy and more unsavory bits at 165. 180 they will be MUCH better

    Considering that mayo is nothing but whipped eggs, do you ever consider breading your chicken with mayo? It seems like the breading would stick to the meat easier. I’ve tried it. But I used store bought mayo, and I think they put vinegar or something else tangy in it that only concentrated during cooking. I didn’t care for that part. But trying with my own whipped eggs is still on my bucket list (bucket of chicken 🤗🤗🤗). Any thoughts? Did you think spraying some oil on these pieces was called for?
