Hello everybody, thanks for your apprecation! With the setup the car has, it's not possible to drive the Karussel... you hit the bottom.. I tried it only once... ;-)! The same goes with the curbs, the car get's very instable. I will go back and drive the ring (the full lap, nothing left out) below 6.50. There are several fast corners where I still have reserves. Of course I need a lap without traffic for this. Regards, Chris
Your flying along in your Porsche Turbo on the final long straight on the N'ring feeling pretty pleased with yourself and something whizzes past you that makes you look like you're driving backwards... sigh!
@@droceretik Since it was uploaded here, I suppose the uploader was the driver. He is one of the reasons that Touristenfahrten on the Nordschleife are debated. During Touristenfahrten the track is a public road and on a public road there is most definitely no room for careless driving like this. Yes, it worked out, but you can't justify silly stuff like this by the fact that the driver got lucky.
I don't think I've seen a better recorded lap on TH-cam - the speed is one thing, but the amount carried through the corner is superb and how early you're on the gas. Awesome.
+mosaab504 On the prior straight the closing speed would be somewhere between 150~200 km/h. The vast majority of drivers just wouldn't notice someone from behind at that closing speed; especially going into a corner that is somewhat dodgy without downforce.

One thing is doing a 6:47 in a 2 million euro pagani zonda R on a closed track. A completely different thing is doing a 6:58 in toy car with downforce and a bike engine on a lap with traffic. Hats off to the driver!
I've been in a radical on the track and I'll tell you, the g force is beyond. You feel like your legs are going to buckle on the bar in the footwell of the passenger seat.
Yes, very reckless indeed. Cars should be fitted with a GPS tracker. If found to be hogging the road, should be slapped a fine and a ban from the track.
Well done. Thanks for answering my ? about the first banked turn before I asked! Looks like fun, and your comfort with the circuit shows. Would be fun if you could add a data graph to your video next time, and let the rest of us grinning watchers see what kind of accelerations and speeds you are reaching. The car sounds strong.
AWSOME !! very good drving chris, very carefull and i agree you still got reserves AND you really need to watch your driving line. there was a couple of light mistakes wich cost time. if you get a good run with the right driving line i think you can easily do a 6:40 or even less.
Love how you left those mono's standing at 3:41like they are Skodas or something, you got held up a little bit on the first mono prob lost ~2 seconds there
4 all you guys out there, the karussel is for ralley cars, not race cars. Why drive the karussel when your faster then all others without driving it????
This is one amazing lap! But then something came in to my mind, to put in perspective that ACR Viper did lap of 7,01 !!!! How f**king big balls you have to have with street legal semislicks and quite much more weight to get anywere near of this Radical SR8 with slicks.
A car like this held the street legal record for many years, I'm not sure it's really street legal, if it is, it shouldn't. Anyway it was a great fun to watch, a very cool video.
+Khazar01 "By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver" AS... :D
Well he's pushing pretty fucking hard. I actually think he made the choice LONG before he got to the car and it probably surprised him. He's travelling so fast those decisions are fucking hard to make. Not to mention if he lifted over that crest, it could have had bad consequences as well. Just thought it was a good spot for that quote :P
Tu as déjà roulé au nurburgring ?

Hi Chris, have done faster since?
That is one of the most "what it really looks like" views of a lap around the Nurburgring ever recorded. Bravo. Fast too.
especially like the way he picks up the throttle so quickly. Good driving.
Your flying along in your Porsche Turbo on the final long straight on the N'ring feeling pretty pleased with yourself and something whizzes past you that makes you look like you're driving backwards... sigh!
holy shit this car is fast. Dat power to weight ratio. The way it handles around the corners, simply amazing..
A 6.58.60 is stunning considering that he had to battle traffic!!!
Respect for this amazing piece of technology and the driver who perfectly masters it. Enjoyed every sec of the video!
im sure the guy in the VW sirocco had a big surprise.
That is not even funny, that could have ended really bad for both of them! Thumbs down for this video.
As did the guys in the Ariels, Lotus, Lambo etc etc
@@CrossEyedLion85 What was wrong with the video? Don't you mean the driving and/or the concept of these track days?

The speed isn't scary, it's going past cars that don't have a clue you're there.
I love how he caries the speed into the corner - the car seems so planted.
This was so smooth it was almost boring to watch, LOL
Great driving! Very smooth, I get the impression this is physically very stressful. You must be strong...

Awesome lap, this vid has got me looking at Radical prices! :-)
Thanks for the heads up was going to text you about the Karussel, brilliant like music to my ears and visually spectacular.
I am exhausted just watching - and my kidneys hurt. Fantastic!
2 BAC MONO had a surprise this day ^^
the guy in the golf at 1:45
was like : ( did you hear something !؟)
+mosaab504 great save!!

yes they were both very lucky
That's a scirocco isn't it?
+Florian Marais yes
Excellent drive, impressive cornering speeds, the speed difference with the other cars almost makes it look like a video game......

Fantastic lap, level of commitment is incredible 👍
Really enjoyed this, watched it twice. Really committed driving, very jealous.

Which bike has a V8?
Well the engine is more or less two suzuki bike engines ducttaped together creating what can only be described as perfection.
not just once though, you'd have to live there, memorize every turn, just to get close to what this guy can do. its astonishing how fast he is..
I've been in a radical on the track and I'll tell you, the g force is beyond. You feel like your legs are going to buckle on the bar in the footwell of the passenger seat.

Why are there so many cars parked on the track ? that's dangerous !

How fast are you going down the long straight at the end? looks about 700mph.
That was very fast!
Where did you get the carbon head restraint from?

Wonderful lap!!!!!!!
BEAUTIFUL !!!
THX FOR THIS GREAT VID !!!
complimenti..bravissimo
This is another dimension.
What type of tyres do you use?
magnifique, easy for him,one mistake and its death day!good good lap
I was thinking the same thing!!
Faszinierendes Auto, tolle Runde, ich komme sogar auf ca. 6:52 (Messpunkt 70er-Schild Anfang Döttinger Höhe)
do you use slick or sport tyres?
"I've got baalls of steel!"
I wonder what speed he hit on the final straight
well done chris, you do Radical proud
if i would drive with a car like this on the nürburgring a dream would come true
03:46 did you just pass two formula cars?
Which camera are you using? How did you mount it?
Damn! Thanks for posting!
This Radical sticks to the road like glue. Does it have ground effect?
What a rush that must be....jealous :(
is this faster than the cars from the 24 Stunden Rennen?
Perfect driving..
Insane! I forgot to breath while watching this :-O
Scary fast & very little margin for error when he took that Scirocco
That fucking opening run tho... And i thought I had balls. Fuck that!
Wish there was telemetry.
gezz nothing but fast. Is that under 7 min on that track ?
Blowing by moving cars like they're standing still.
WOW 6.58.60 is amazing time
What is the name of the corner at 4:37 ? please
And why is it like that ? if you know what I mean
YellowWaiting Carousel. Because Germans are weird and that you can go faster around a banked corner.
LynxAdvert
It's half straight, half banked just because they're weird ? I wondered if it was the result of an accident.
Well the idea is that because it's banked you can go faster around it. However it's just kinda bad and stupid. They made the track that way.
There's no curve at this timestamp. It's between Klostertalkurve (4:29) and Caracciola Karussell (4:40)

3:08 WTF?! It truly is a kart on steroids
Holy fuck 1:45!!! Almost killed by a clueless hatchback driver!
my life in fast forward .thank u life haha
Just for reference, 6:34 BTG
i saw a ktm xbow at that moment (front)
more than likely top speed which I think in an SR8 is roughly 165mph.
Scary just watching it..

only 270 Km/h, the aerodynamic downforce slows the car down... my Porsche Turbo does about 300.. ;-)!
quite a dangerous move on 1:48
