- In this session I try to kill two birds with one stone - Image the Andromeda Galaxy and use this as an opportunity to finally check out whether the Sharpstar 61 EDPH2 exhibits chromatic aberration in the absence of the L-eXtreme filter! The ISS also makes a brief appearance!
Find out how I got on......
Some other folks had some 61s with CA too, had to get WO to replace!
I had a zs61 which turned out to have issues with a misaligned focuser. I had to have that sorted at my own expense. Needless to say WO are not my most favourite company!! Thanks for watching Geoffrey!!!
The William optics 61 is a doublet( 2 lenses ) the sharp star edph is a triplet now...
@@astrogadge2276 they're not my favourite either after my focuser broke on my aniversary model... the best I got was because of its age the focuser is no longer made... that was it... not interested in fixing it, so it sat on my shelf for a year before a friend said he would look at it.. turned out to be a bearing...easy fix... they're only interested in new sales or u tubers...
@@derekregan6926 Yes Derek...not good customer service to say the least. I get the impression that a due to high demand many companies QA checks are not as stringent as they should be these days - the important thing is how they deal with customers who have fallen foul of this. For me the mark of a good company is one who acknowledges the value of customer satisfaction and after sales support !
Thanks for watching BTW!
@@astrogadge2276 yes, if they had taken it back it could have been easily repaired without the need of having current component, and I wouldn't have bought a esprit to replace it... so I'd never buy another William optics again... another brand on the naughty list
Ok. I decided to order a Tec apo refractor next month !!!
