    i'll start by saying that: "damn this is what people get for free" will be living rent free in my head & will be blurted out in social settings from now on bahaha!
    i was diagnosed 1 month ago, been trying to find content and experiences relevant to me - this video has by far been the most helpful and relevant. i also found on 5mg i was sooooooo talkative and felt normal :(( 10mg now for a few days now and feel much better already! experiencing less brain fog, when i'm doing tasks i feel less overwhelmed (still have to motivate myself and choose to do the tasks but i don't feel as chaotic as i used to when doing tasks) and am unexpectedly more calm than normal (not calm bc of the meds obvs but because my mind is less chaotic that in turn makes me feel calm). feels amazing to know there are other people out there on a similar journey - thank you for sharing :))

      Thank you for your comment!! I'm glad I could contribute to your future conversations whahaha ! Also, I'm so happy to hear that you could relate to my experience and that my video was relevant to you. I made this (and other videos) with the goal to help people who experience the same thing since I could not find videos that I could relate to so I'm actually SO HAPPY that my video did that for you!

    For me Elvanse (Vyvanse in the US) has been awesome.
    The quietness of mind and ability to focus are soooooo welcome! Totally agree with the side effects issues being unwelcome, but splitting the dose and/or med breaks seem to help with that thankfully.
    Unmedicated life is even more frustrating and intolerable when I’ve experienced how much better it can be with medication working well. If anyone is having a tough decision about trying medication or if it’s not quite working right, talk to your doctor…a good solution can likely be found! Good luck!

    Appetite is very important. Not eating enough would make rebound etc much worse. If possible, try to balance better focus with minimizing side effects. Good sleep, eating well, avoiding too much sugar (sugar crashes), naps if you need them, drink enough water. These are very important for adhd meds to work properly. So if meds are causing you poor sleep quality or poor appetite, you can experiment to see how you can work around it. Like eating lunch and dinner after your meds have worn off. If you’re taking two pills in the morning, you can try taking one pill then have breakfast, and take the other one after your breakfast so it affects your appetite less etc. hope this is helpful.

    You may not realize how lucky you are to have found out you have ADHD at 18. You have your whole life to learn to manage it. I am 58 and I am convinced, from what I have watched on youtube and what I've read, that I have always had ADHD. I need to get officially diagnosed, but I am 99 percent sure - all the symtoms are there. And my life has not been optimal, to say the least. Perhaps if I had been aware of this from a young age I would be in a better place in life. Thank you for your videos ( this is the 2nd one I've watched).

    Thanks for the video!! I'm not diagnosed yet but im pretty sure i have adhd (like, as sure as a person can be without being a professional lol). I feel like I really should talk to a psychiatrist/psychologist about it & I will as soon as I can, but until then I'm just reading up on it and watching youtube videos :) Love your vibe and the style of ur content, glad I found your channel through this topic!

      aww thank you so much!! Talking to a psychiatrist/psychologist is very valuable since a diagnosis can bring so much validation and can be a huge relieve!! But reading up on adhd is also great, thats how I started too hahaha! (lol I hyperfocused on adhd before even getting my diagnosis, rlly ironic). Thanks again for the rlly kind comment!!

    You are a delight. You made me laugh out loud several times (wait🤔maybe that was your first video and not this one, but I’m sure I laughed during this one😄…). Anyway! I appreciated hearing about your experience. After hearing about your experience, I feel much more confident about starting medication and riding the roller coaster of whatever that will be, and fighting any urge to give up too easily. To my surprise, a couple years ago during a routine physical, my doctor actually brought up her suspension that I had it (she has it too so she’s very knowledgeable) but I wasn’t ready to try medication. I’m trying to start a business now and I want and need to get the work done so I’m ready.
    I’ve been grateful for how enlightening all of this wonderful information has been (your channel and How to ADHD, etc.) …lots of puzzle pieces fitting together to explain my unique life experience (including when I was a little girl). I’m 53, which reminds me to say that it’s never too late to take care of yourself and continue to figure out how the beautiful puzzle pieces that are YOU fit together.❤️.

    This video was super helpful I should be starting medication soon and I’m strangely excited about it. I want to experience quiet brain lol. I’m also kinda worried that it won’t work like yea like you said what if I don’t have adhd. It’s nice seeing this and then hopefully if I have a similar experience I won’t go all sad about it and know it’s normal. Also you seem so cool n hip n swag 😎 can’t wait to watch more. Defo not gonna just binge every video you’ve made now.

    HAHAHAH ''do ppl get this clarity for free''. yeaaaahhh they probably do. I was telling my roomie about how I didnt think about 10374628 things while being on meds. He was like 'Wow... but you seriously never think nothing' I was like 'explain nothing...'' xDDD ''thinking nothing'' for me means; repeating the same line of a song over and over again in my head. Its anoying, but the closed to nothing that I can get...
    most common line atm --> '' WE DON'T TALK ABOUT BRUNOOO NOO NOO NOOOO.........'' yeaah ya know, disney = life

    I think, a longer acting stimulant other than Ritalin/Concerta will actually and surely work for you. It would be highly beneficial for you if you could discuss this with your Doctor. And for sleep trouble, it would be great to start Benzodiazepines but only under prescription. 👍

    • @incimeijer24
      @incimeijer24  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      unfortunately yes! At least, that was the case for me hahahah. I would still talk abt this with your doctor / the person who perscribes you your medication since I'm not a doctor, but if you are prone to worrying abt this stuff it could be that your anxiety is making these symptoms worse...

      meditation helped me sometimes with these feelings since it really focuses on bringing your attention to your body and the moment. It made me a little bit more relaxed, so maybe that would work for you too!

      @@incimeijer24 same with me, weirdly enough. Even though I've been making weird noises with my mouth, rocking in chairs and fiddling with stuff for all of my life (to the point where it drives people mad). Maybe they've gotten so used to it.

    • @incimeijer24
      @incimeijer24  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      omg exactly! Maybe it's because the way we show hyperactivity is not the way they think of hyperactivity? Like people tend to think of running or things like that when it comes to hyperactivity, not neccesarily fidgeting or moving around
