At first I thought why waste a barrel making 2 stands and then I thought about it. I get 55 gallon barrels for $15 a price so one stand is $7.50. there is no way I can build a stand out of wood for that price. I am so glad I came across your video. Thank you
Genius. Here is a couple of thoughts. 1-add a deain of some sort to drain you support barrels (in case you acquire a lot of water in them). 2-in the support barrels, you have a lot of dead space, maybe you can create doors jn the sides and plant potatoes, or cut holes and plant strawberries. It is a great idea (which I may just have to try), i am sureyou have thought about it, but maybe, some of your hanging baskets, you could plant only pollinator attracting plants just to increase your success of pollination. I love the idea by the way. One thing I don't understand (because I'm not at avid gardener and only planted them once in a soil bag) is how to grow melons in this system. How will it work with the fence?
Timothy Kelly Thanks for your input, barrels already come with 2 holes at the top portion. When you flip it upside down your holes are automatically at the bottom. No worries there friend. If you were to plant tomatoes out the side you would not be able to get down your rows. Trust me on this one. My tomatoes were huge. Watch my latest video of my plants growing. I just posted it.
