- Welcome back to Drifting South!
Let's dive into an unforgettable ocean adventure together as we journey in Mag bay to get up close and personal with some majestic Grey Whales! I want to share the incredible experience of them swimming right under our boat as we explore their natural habitat.
Also I made the spontaneous decision to commemorate this experience with a tattoo on the same day.
Hope you enjoy our adventures, thanks o much for joining us!
Safe travels, Drifters and take care until next time!

Thank you, Doug!! I appreciate you watching and letting me know you enjoyed it. It means a lot to me!!
Your footage was spectacular, it must have been surreal for both of you to be so close to those magnificent creatures. You have shown some past footage at the Cannery which was also amazing. But this was crazy how close they came. Once again merci d’avoir partagé cet incroyable vidéo!!
I always look forward to the next😀
Thank you Pierre! I have gotten some amazing drone footage of humpback whales and Orcas but yes, never been that close in person. It was so amazing!! Thanks for joining our adventure!!
You have the best tour guide ever.
Does your boat have a carbon or rubber botton? I noticed what looks like a bow eye below the bow tube?
0.03-0.06. Wondering how it's attached to the boat.
Never seen that brand of boat before. I think it has a lot going on that we don't realize.
If you would like to know how to beach anchor your boat off the shore with out getting wet I would be happy to share the method. It is nice having your boat swing at Anchor and not bounce and fill with water from waves at shoreline.
Thank you Charlie! It is quite the skill knowing how to properly take care of a boat. The bottom of the boat is welded aluminum. Brent anchored it overnight before at Playa Juncalito. The tide goes out so far here so we put it back on the boat lift every time so that we can take it to the boat launch across town. He angles the boat so that the stern is facing land. That way the waves crash at it as if it’s moving and doesn’t get wet. I hope that made sense haha
The bow eye is definitely different. The rope just wraps around it a few times and there’s little teeth sort of that make it stay in place.
Thank you so much for your questions!
